CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2074: Chapter 2082: Dead

Old Master Black nodded without saying anything, got up and returned to his room.

After closing the door, Brooke Black hurriedly asked, ”Any new information?”

”Yes, but it’s not news about James Black.” Old Master Black said, ”A report was received from the public, a male corpse was discovered in a trash can outside an abandoned factory’s premises. After identification, it was confirmed to be the criminal suspect who kidnapped Jane Sampson.”

”The warrant issued by the police has had a broad impact, so now many people recognize the deceased’s identity. This thing, in just a few minutes, the entire internet realm will be buzzing with it.” Old Master Black sat there, his expression tight.

”This young man was killed by having his throat slit. From the police’s examination of the scene, the perpetrator’s action was swift and forceful, striking twice, once on the left and once on the right, afraid that this person might still be alive.” Old Master Black said this, then slowly closed his eyes.

A few seconds later, he spoke again, ”It’s impossible that James Black was the one who did it.”

The target James Black was following has died, and meanwhile, James Black himself has lost contact.

What does this mean? Brooke Black dared not even think about it.

”Preliminary estimates suggest this young man’s time of death exceeded 24 hours. How much longer exactly will have to wait for the forensic doctor’s results.” Old Master Black reached out and rubbed his forehead, ”James Black has been out of contact for over two days, while this person has been dead for over 24 hours.”

Who killed this person?

This is a major issue.

Where has James Black gone? Why did he suddenly lose contact?

This is even more nerve-wracking for Old Master Black and Brooke Black.

In the living room, Jane Sampson was still joyfully teasing and laughing with Peter Gingery. With Bright Sampton as her ally, against one, Peter was hopping mad in the living room.

The three kids outside didn’t know that behind the door, Brooke Black and Old Master Black were currently so anxious.

Thinking back to how Jane Sampson reluctantly said she only misses James Black a little yesterday.

Thinking about how Jane Sampson now almost always unintentionally mentions James Black.

Old Master Black hardly doubts that with Jane’s nature, if something were to happen to James Black, Jane might actually break down. Because, in this world, in Jane’s eyes, James Black is truly the last, the only support that belongs solely to her. How important James Black is to Jane Sampson is something Old Master Black is all too aware of.

That silly girl, her heart and mind are wholly occupied with James Black.

James Black is her only one.

From the moment James Black became a soldier, Old Master Black had actually prepared himself mentally for everything.

But now, at the thought of the worst possibility.

Old Master Black not only has to endure the pain of possibly losing his most beloved grandson but also worry about Jane Sampson’s future.

If the person who was supposed to walk hand in hand for a lifetime suddenly leaves early, what will the one left behind do?

”Dad, we can’t panic, let’s wait a bit longer, there will always be more news.” Brooke Black’s voice trembled, ”No matter what, alive, we must see the person, dead, we need to see the body. That guy who kidnapped Sampson was discovered even after being left in the trash after being killed. There’s still no news about James Black, maybe nothing much has happened to him, maybe he’s still fine.”

Old Master Black waved his hand, ”I’m tired, I want to rest, you should go out.”

By now, even saying such things, Old Master Black knew that trying to comfort himself was no longer of much use, he couldn’t even deceive himself anymore.
