CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2087: Chapter 2095: Sent Away

”Jane is right.” Peter Gingery nodded repeatedly, ”That day, dad and mom were not at home and were out socializing. I went home alone temporarily, and as I entered, I saw the Old Master Black sitting beside the dining table gnawing on a pork knuckle.”

Peter Gingery was almost tattling, but there was nothing he could do; he really couldn’t control Elder Black.

As Old Master Black aged, his taste became heavier. He liked strong tea and foods with strong flavors, yet unfortunately, these were not good for his health.

After eating, Peter Gingery and Bright Sampton left together with Brooke Black and the others, along with that slightly eerie coffin that had been sitting there.

Jane Sampson couldn’t go out, not even in the courtyard. After everyone left, she didn’t disturb Old Master Black, who was still resting, and huddled on the sofa alone, playing games.

She originally intended to play that game she had enjoyed together with Peter Gingery and the others for many years, but then remembered her account was unavailable recently. Jane didn’t want to apply for a new account and stay in the newcomer village, so she gave up.

She didn’t touch her old mobile phone; instead, in the new phone that the Black Family had prepared for her, she redownloaded Happy Match-3 and logged in using the account James Black had given her.

Jane Sampson remembered that before James Black brought her back, she had only reached in the level 30-something range, because in those days she was often unwell, either running a fever or completely listless. She got engrossed in the game; James Black managed her time, and only allowed her to play for a short while each day.

But when the game showed a successful login and the page automatically switched over, Jane was a bit stunned.

She remembered she only reached the level 30-something range. How come at this moment, it was showing over level 100?

Could she have remembered wrong?

Could James Black have progressed in the game himself, hiding from her?

Jane Sampson was briefly amazed, not expecting James Black to be the type who would play standalone games.

Old Master Black woke up around 11 o’clock. Although he hadn’t rested all night, given his age, being able to sleep until now was pretty good.

When he stepped out of the room, what he saw was Jane Sampson curled up on the sofa, playing on her mobile phone.

She was so focused on the game that she didn’t even notice when he approached her.

When Old Master Black got closer to Jane, he realized the little lass was upset with herself because she was struggling with the game, her cheeks puffed like a pufferfish, grumbling in frustration.

”What kind of game is getting our little princess so worked up?” Old Master Black curiously asked as he sat down beside Jane.

”Happy Match-3.” Jane raised her head to look at Old Master Black and quickly put down her phone with a concerned face, ”Grandfather, did you sleep well? Does your body feel uncomfortable anywhere now?”

Old Master Black waved his hand, ”Feeling much more energetic.”

After answering, Old Master Black glanced around, then asked, ”Did your aunt and the others leave?”

”Yes, they took out the coffin.” Jane nodded.

Friends and family who came yesterday all knew that James Black hadn’t returned yet, so the ’Jane Sampson’s remains wouldn’t be cremated so quickly. After a farewell ceremony was held, the Black Family put ’Jane Sampson’s remains in storage, waiting for James Black to return. So today, there were no friends or relatives from the Black Family coming over.

”Why didn’t anyone wake me up before they left?” Old Master Black inquired.

”Auntie said that since Grandfather is a senior, it’s normal not to appear in such circumstances. If anyone asks, she’ll just say Grandfather wasn’t feeling well,” Jane responded.
