CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2084: Chapter 2092: Has Something Happened?

”What’s wrong with Grandpa? Is he catching a cold?” Jane Sampson squatted by Old Master Black’s bed, reached out to feel his forehead, and asked again, ”Is he catching a cold?”

Old Master Black woke up at this time, held Jane Sampson’s hand that was measuring his temperature on his forehead, and smiled at her, ”It’s nothing, just tiredness. I just need to rest more.”’

Indeed, it was exhaustion, both mentally and emotionally, and resting wouldn’t help much.

Brooke Black glanced at her father and then patted Jane Sampson, ”Old Sir isn’t in much trouble. We just measured his temperature, and he’s not running a fever. You should go back upstairs and rest a bit more; I need to have a few words with your grandfather privately.”

Jane Sampson was reluctant to leave, but since Brooke Black said so, she had no choice but to go.

”Then Grandpa, you take a good rest. If you’re not feeling well, don’t hold it in. Tell Auntie to accompany you to the hospital for a check-up,” Jane Sampson reminded with unease.

Old Master Black responded with a nod, and only then did Jane Sampson leave, looking back at every step, closing the room door behind her.

After Jane Sampson had been out for a while, Brooke Black finally sat by Old Sir’s bed and asked, ”Is there new news from James Black?”

Old Master Black nodded, ”The mute nanny’s body was also found, the time of death was earlier than the boy who kidnapped Jane.”

After hearing this, Brooke Black understood why Old Sir seemed utterly drained overnight.

A young man, coupled with a nanny, two subordinates who had followed that Big Brother for many years, and that Big Brother could still kill without hesitation.

So, for James Black in the eyes of that Big Brother, he was even less significant.

”Dad, I know what you are worried about, but as long as we haven’t got a result, we must hold on and not let Jane and the other kids know about this,” Brooke Black said. ”James Black is outside, and we can’t help him, whether it’s a blessing or misfortune, it’s up to him. What we can do at home is taking good care of ourselves.”

Brooke Black tucked in the quilt for Old Sir, ”If nothing happens to James Black, we’re just scaring ourselves. When he returns, we’ll be sick, and he will feel guilty. And if something indeed happens to James Black, we as seniors cannot fall. If we fall, can Peter Gingery and Jane still hold on? So, Dad, before we get a result, we should eat well, drink well, and sleep well; we can’t scare ourselves into illness first.”

These were words Father Gingery used to comfort Brooke Black last night, and now, Brooke Black used them to comfort her father.

”You’re right.” Old Master Black’s gaze brightened considerably, and he nodded, ”We can’t fall first.”

”So, Dad, you should rest now, sleep until you naturally wake up, and then have a good meal,” Brooke Black said, relieved to see Old Master Black listening to the advice.

Old Master Black waved a hand to send Brooke Black out, ”Listen to you, I can’t fall. If I do, Jane will be worried sick.”

Jane Sampson sent away her Sampson Family grandparents, feeling greatly saddened with each departure.

Thus, knowing Old Sir fell ill just now, Jane Sampson appeared particularly afraid.

Brooke Black withdrew from Old Sir’s room, looked around, and indeed found Jane Sampson in her pajamas sitting dumbly on the living room sofa waiting.
