I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 370: Chapter 369: Installing the Telephone

Tian Qingyao and Shao Jia Min looked around and found that many of the furniture items here were incomplete, only a few pieces, probably moved in hastily.

”Tomorrow, I’ll take Beibei to pick out some furniture. The house is quite empty, it’s inconvenient to live like this,” Shao Jia Min said with a smile.

Although Tian Qingyao didn’t explicitly say it, it was clear that Beisitian had an unusual status in the Tian family, and her husband seriously asked her to drink the clear water medicine given by Beisitian, saying it was definitely effective.

The two had been together for twenty years, and Tian Qingyao never spoke unreliable words, so Shao Jia Min’s attitude towards Beisitian naturally was different.

The couple sat for a while and then left. Beisitian watched the car drive away, and just as she was about to close the gate, she saw a man walking towards her. She took a closer look and found the man very familiar.

After a moment’s thought, she remembered this man was Zhou Quan, whose photo Luo Xudong had shown her.

Zhou Quan wasn’t particularly tall or stout, but he gave off a vibe of being not easy to deal with, always smiling, but his eyes were sharp.

Zhou Quan’s eyes weren’t large, his nose was somewhat flat, and he wasn’t strikingly handsome, easily overlooked in a crowd.

Zhou Quan came up to Beisitian and said with a smile, ”Sister-in-law, I’m Zhou Quan. Brother Dong should have mentioned me to you.”

Beisitian nodded.

”Brother Dong asked me to install a phone in your home, making it more convenient to keep in touch.” Zhou Quan said, shaking the box in his hand with a smile.

Beisitian was stunned. She probably wouldn’t live in Beijing for long, wasn’t installing a phone a bit wasteful?

But since it was what Luo Xudong wanted, she naturally wouldn’t object.

Zhou Quan followed Beisitian inside and asked her where to install the phone.

Beisitian thought for a moment and felt it would be best to install it in the bedroom.

She watched as Zhou Quan opened the phone box and couldn’t help asking, ”You can install it?”

Zhou Quan chuckled, ”Of course, otherwise how could I hang out with Brother Dong!” Installing a phone was a small matter, and he took the opportunity to flatter the sister-in-law. He could tell how much Brother Dong valued his wife.

When Zhou Quan came, he had already registered for the installation, and the phone number was chosen. Those with several 6s were usually expensive, while those with several 4s were cheaper. He picked one with three 6s, one of the better ones left after others had been picked.

The phone was installed effortlessly. Since Zhou Quan had worked the whole afternoon, Beisitian originally intended to invite him to stay for a meal, but Zhou Quan wouldn’t stay, drinking a glass of water and preparing to leave.

”Brother Dong should have given you my contact details. If you need anything, just message me directly. I’ll return your call as soon as I can,” Zhou Quan said with a cheerful smile.

Zhou Quan was older than Beisitian, yet he addressed her as ’您’ (a respectful form of ’you’), which made Beisitian a bit embarrassed and quickly asked him to change his address.

”Whatever you say, sister-in-law!” Zhou Quan was very tactful, which explained why Luo Xudong trusted him and confided in him.

Beisitian looked at the red phone in a daze, wondering if she should call Luo Xudong. Just as she was thinking about it, the phone rang.

The phone had just been installed, so the only ones who would know her number were Zhou Quan and Luo Xudong.

Beisitian answered the phone with a smile.

Luo Xudong’s clear and cold voice came through the receiver.

”You’re already at the base?” Beisitian asked with a smile.

”Not yet, just waiting for the car. It should get here around eight tonight, and there’ll be a car to pick me up,” Luo Xudong said.

”Xudong, I met a promising youngster today, the eldest son of my fifth uncle’s family. I plan to observe him, and if he’s good, I want to take him as a disciple,” Beisitian happily shared with Luo Xudong.

There was no surprise in Luo Xudong’s response to Beisitian’s words. Although Beisitian had never told him, he knew that she had some extraordinary qualities and was very aware of them.

Beisitian seemed to know he was aware as well, and they reached a deep understanding on this matter, neither explicitly stating it, but both understanding clearly.

Listening to Beisitian’s joyous voice on the phone, the corners of Luo Xudong’s mouth involuntarily lifted into a smile, causing the girl at the small shop nearby to gaze at him dreamily.

After chatting with Beisitian for a while, Luo Xudong hung up and got into the car.

Beisitian put down the phone, still smiling. Although Luo Xudong had just left, she already felt a little longing for him.

When she was with Luo Xudong, she couldn’t help but relax.

The next day, Tian Heming went to the senior officers’ rest home and had a private meeting with Du Kai Bo. Du Kai Bo was somewhat excited upon hearing the news. That Mystic Doctor was actually willing to meet with them?

Keeping it confidential was, of course, no problem!

”Dean Mei has no issues. We’ve been friends for a long time; I can vouch for his character. Of course, if Doctor Bei doesn’t want to meet, I can think of a way to get him to leave,” Du Kai Bo said earnestly.

Tian Heming nodded, ”I’ll go back and ask.”

Du Kai Bo sent Tian Heming off with great enthusiasm, filled with curiosity about that Mystic Doctor. If possible, he hoped to have a good exchange with the Mystic Doctor.

Tian Heming returned with the news, and Beisitian had already arrived at the Tian Family, with Tian Zhi also arriving around the same time, brought by Tian Qingyao.

Tian Zhi didn’t mind interacting with Beisitian. He had already drunk his second can of talismanic water today and felt noticeable changes shortly after drinking it.

The changes were subtle; someone unfamiliar with the body wouldn’t easily notice them, but it was well reflected in his complexion.

Like him and his mother, Shao Jia Min, their complexion had been much better these past two days, rosy and with bright eyes.

Shao Jia Min clearly felt more energetic; previously, she hadn’t taken care of her health post-pregnancy and was exhausted from taking care of her child at night, leading to some nervous exhaustion. Although she was very tired, she couldn’t fall asleep at night, but now there was some improvement.

She found it hard to believe because she had only drunk the clear water medicine once and didn’t expect it to be as effective as her husband had said!

In fact, that talismanic water wasn’t exactly invigorating, but many things are interconnected. Improvement in one area can lead to improvements in other areas.

When Tian Zhi saw Beisitian, she was in the room writing.

Practicing writing was her daily habit, and since she was waiting for Tian Heming to return, she naturally wouldn’t waste time daydreaming.

Tian Zhi also knew how to write with a brush. His grandfather had taught him from a young age, saying a good traditional Chinese medicine doctor must have good handwriting, although he didn’t practice diligently as his focus was on herbal medicine.

He didn’t disturb Beisitian rashly, softly walking behind her to see her intently focusing on writing, her small regular script beautifully done!

Tian Zhi was a bit amazed. Wasn’t it said that his cousin hadn’t gone to school? How could someone who hadn’t attended school produce such writing!

He never underestimated Beisitian, just thought that people their age who didn’t go to school missed out.

Honestly speaking, Tian Zhi felt that even his grandfather’s writing wasn’t as good as his cousin’s!
