I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 353: Chapter 352: She Is the Mysterious Mystic Doctor

Tian Qinghui?

Beisitian remembered one of the three Tian Family members she met at the Convalescent Home, unexpectedly so close in relation.

Because the task on Tian Qinghui and the other two was so significant, almost bearing the fate of the entire Tian Family, Tian Heming hadn’t called them back.

There was a new development in General Zhou’s situation that required constant attention, but since Tian Qinghui happened to be back, he might as well be met, as future encounters were uncertain.

Tian Heming felt a bit anxious, unsure whether the news his elder son brought back was good or bad.

With this layer of worry, the smile on Tian Heming’s face faded considerably.

Dong Fengzhen held Beisitian’s hand, intending to speak but her mind was similarly restless. Could it be that General Zhou’s condition was reversing and the previous improvement was just a flash in the pan?

”Grandpa, Grandma, let’s step aside for a moment,” Luo Xudong suddenly stood up and said.

Being a soldier, since the higher-ups hadn’t disclosed anything about General Zhou’s matter, he preferred not to know, at least not to acknowledge it in front of others.

Tian Heming nodded, ”You two rest in the east room for now.”

Luo Xudong led Beisitian to the east room.

After a short while, Tian Qinghui arrived. Entering, he first poured a glass of water and gulped it down.

”How is it?” Tian Heming asked with a frown.

Tian Qinghui sighed, sat down, and said, ”Not very optimistic, Dad. Didn’t I tell you about a Doctor Wei? He said that the improvement is likely temporary, similar to the effects from the thousand-year-old ginseng we used.”

Tian Heming’s frown deepened. He leaned against the chair, looking at the yard outside, and muttered, ”If this person has intervened, why are they reluctant to show up?”

Dong Fengzhen, also an old Chinese doctor and honorary dean of a renowned traditional Chinese medicine hospital, occasionally still made visits after retirement. At this moment, she said, ”Do you think this person will intervene again?”

Tian Heming looked at his wife, ”What do you mean?”

Tian Qinghui also listened intently.

”This person couldn’t have whimsically given General Zhou some medicine. Regardless of their motive, there should be a follow-up if there was an initial action. Perhaps they will again go to administer medicine to General Zhou!”

Although Dong Fengzhen was speculating, her guess was not without reason. Despite lacking evidence, the possibility was significant.

”We should talk to Dean Du about this,” Dong Fengzhen suggested.

Tian Qinghui chuckled bitterly, ”The words of the Tian Family might have been heeded before, but now nobody listens to us. Besides, with someone surnamed Wei involved, it seems Dean Du and Dean Mei consider his words very seriously, and the Tian Family has even less say.”

Thinking about how this Doctor Wei, in his twenties, was taken so seriously by Dean Du and others, Tian Qinghui felt quite uneasy.

Tian Qinghui returned intending to convey Wei Zhongxun’s words to Tian Heming, lest they mistakenly relax thinking Zhou Biwu’s condition had genuinely improved, only to find themselves distressed later.

”If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now,” Tian Qinghui said with a sigh, showing his reluctance to return to the Convalescent Home.

Now, the doctors and nurses there looked at them with strange eyes, like outsiders. And there was Zhang Man, who bluntly stated their incompetence, making them truly unwilling to stay there.

But what choice did they have despite their unwillingness?

”Wait, Beibei has returned. Since you are here, you should meet her,” Tian Heming stopped Tian Qinghui who was about to leave.

Tian Qinghui wasn’t really eager to meet his niece. Overburdened with a heavy responsibility, he felt incapable of handling more. However, his father’s words were important, so he decided to stay and exchange a few words before leaving.

In the east room, Beisitian’s mind was on the conversation outside, but due to good soundproofing, she could only hear indistinct voices without making out the words.

She was still planning how to stay and approach Zhou Biwu again when she heard the door open, and Dong Fengzhen called them to go out.

”Your uncle is back, though he has urgent matters and won’t be able to speak much with you, so don’t take it to heart,” Dong Fengzhen preemptively advised, fearing Beisitian might overthink it.

Beisitian wasn’t inclined to overthinking such a trivial matter, smiling as she followed Dong Fengzhen out.

Tian Qinghui was sitting in a chair, still contemplating Dong Fengzhen’s speculation, feeling it necessary to discuss with Dean Du the matter when he returned, as they both wanted to find that mysterious person, sharing the same objective.

”Beibei, this is your uncle. No matter what happens in the future, you should at least recognize him,” Tian Heming said.

The reason he grabbed Tian Qinghui amidst his busy schedule was to ensure Beisitian knew who was who. Tonight, or perhaps tomorrow, he planned to forcibly have Beisitian leave the Capital City, as the situation was not something she should involve herself in.

”Uncle,” Beisitian smiled faintly.

Tian Qinghui was lost in thought but raised his head at the voice, smiling as he was about to speak, only to clearly see Beisitian’s face.

His body wobbled, nearly falling off the chair, eyes widened in shock at Beisitian, and pointing at her in disbelief, even his tongue was tied.

”You, you, you are...”

Tian Heming frowned seeing this, ”What’s going on?”

Beisitian first laughed, ”I didn’t recognize my uncle at the time, and didn’t properly greet him, so don’t blame me.”

Tian Qinghui still couldn’t catch his breath, glaring wide-eyed at Beisitian, unable to articulate. Hearing Tian Heming ask again, he stammered, ”It’s her... it’s her!”

Tian Heming observed Tian Qinghui’s demeanor, understanding there was something important, yet his inarticulateness was exasperating, prompting a temperamental slam on the table.

”Speak properly!”

It might have been Tian Heming’s shout that woke Tian Qinghui, making him speak more fluently immediately.

”Dad, it’s her! She is the mysterious Mystic Doctor!”

Tian Heming opened his mouth, a look of daze on his face, seemingly not comprehending the words, asking again, ”What did you say?”

Tian Qinghui took a deep breath, suppressing his inner shock, and stated distinctly, ”She is that mysterious person! The mysterious Mystic Doctor from the Convalescent Home!”

Mystic Doctor...

Beisitian raised an eyebrow; since when did she become the Mystic Doctor?

”Are you sure?” Tian Heming asked incredulously.

”I’m sure! One hundred and twenty percent sure!” Tian Qinghui was just short of swearing.

After speaking, the three in the room simultaneously turned their gaze to Beisitian, filled with extreme shock, with a hint of doubt, seemingly finding the situation somewhat unreal, making it difficult to instantly believe or accept.
