I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 356: Chapter 355: Found

Tian Heming and the others were momentarily stunned but soon became joyful. As long as the next generation has potential, it’s fine; it would avoid a situation where there is no successor!

Beisitian noticed that they didn’t understand her implication, then realized that they were not Mystic Doctors and didn’t know what ”spirit” meant to one. Naturally, they didn’t grasp her meaning.

Afraid that a good seedling might be wasted, Beisitian explained the relationship between spirit and Mystic Doctor, making the three of them excited at once.

Dong Fengzhen grabbed Beisitian’s hand and asked shakily, ”Are you saying that little Hao could become a Mystic Doctor?”

Beisitian nodded, ”Yes, with double the training, the likelihood of little Hao becoming a Mystic Doctor is very high.”

Dong Fengzhen immediately put her hands together and looked up to the heavens, muttering, ”Heavens, bless us so that the Tian Family can produce a Mystic Doctor!”

Tian Heming and Tian Qinghui were also grinning from ear to ear. If the Tian Family’s younger generation could produce a Mystic Doctor, no one would be able to shake the family’s status. No, it should be said that the Tian Family’s status would become transcendent!

Seeing their happiness, Beisitian was afraid they might spoil him too much, so she reminded them, ”Becoming a Mystic Doctor requires enduring much hardship; that child’s temperament is unpredictable and needs to be well-tempered.”

Tian Heming and Dong Fengzhen immediately understood her point, agreeing that they must not pamper the child and that the matter should not be disclosed until he grows up.

Seeing their understanding, Beisitian smiled slightly. Though Tian Hao was not suitable as a successor, it didn’t hinder her from taking more apprentices in the future. Although apprentices differ from successors, they still adhere to the same lineage.

By doing so, she also fulfilled a wish of her master—who once hoped to gather many apprentices and form her own sect. Unfortunately, he found neither this nor that acceptable, was too easy-going, entirely unsuitable for establishing a sect; and Beisitian had no such intentions. In the end, she didn’t even find a successor, let alone an apprentice, and didn’t know if anyone would help her with burial...

Whenever she thought about this, Beisitian felt a bit melancholy. The importance of posthumous matters goes without saying. No matter what in this life, she couldn’t end up alone.

Most of the Tian Family members are honest and sincere, so selecting some talented ones from them is certainly the best choice. Hopefully, they won’t spoil Tian Hao.

In the retirement center, Mei Siyuan was frowning as he reviewed General Zhou’s latest health data. Indeed, as Wei Zhongxun had said, his heart rate had dropped again, and other indicators were also declining.

”The effect of that talismanic water is too good, even better than thousand-year-old ginseng. If it can’t be sustained, I’m afraid even the ginseng won’t hold him up,” said Wei Zhongxun from the sofa.

”What do you mean?” Du Kai Bo’s heart sank.

”General Zhou won’t last,” Wei Zhongxun affirmed his suspicion.

Du Kai Bo fell silent, and Mei Siyuan also sighed. If it didn’t work out, they’d have to visit Wu Yuekai. If Wu Yuekai still refused to relent, they’d have to report it, explain the situation, and have the Military Department put pressure on Wu Yuekai!

They were doing everything they could not to do that, as they had no evidence that Wu Yuekai knew the mysterious Mystic Doctor. Everything was just speculation, and such baseless matters—even if the Military Department exerted pressure—it would be limited and would also offend a powerful veteran cadre pointlessly.

As the three conversed, a knock came from outside. After Du Kai Bo responded, Tian Qingyao and Tian Hezhen walked in from outside.

”Dean Du, my father is here and wishes to see you,” Tian Qingyao said.

”Doctor Tian has come. Please let him in,” Du Kai Bo said, genuinely admiring Tian Heming, even though they were on different paths, recognizing his true skills.

Tian Heming entered from the outside, followed by Dong Fengzhen, greeting Du Kai Bo and Mei Siyuan.

Tian Heming said, ”Dean Du, Dean Mei, may I have a word with you two alone?”

Du Kai Bo glanced at Wei Zhongxun, appearing a bit troubled, but Wei Zhongxun stretched and stood up, ”I was just about to go for a walk.”

With Wei Zhongxun voluntarily leaving, no one else was put in a difficult position.

Once Wei Zhongxun had left, Tian Heming told Hezhen and Qingyao, ”You two should leave as well.”

Tian Hezhen was stunned, glanced at Dong Fengzhen, uncertain about what was happening, but still went out calling Qingyao along.

The room now only had Tian Heming, his wife, and Du Kai Bo and Mei Siyuan.

Du Kai Bo didn’t know what he was up to, so he invited the couple to sit down and asked, ”Does Doctor Tian have an urgent matter?”

Tian Heming looked at Du Kai Bo and said, ”We’ve found that person.”

Du Kai Bo and Mei Siyuan were briefly taken aback, then their colors changed. Mei Siyuan quickly asked, ”Which person?”

”The Mystic Doctor.”

If there were doubts earlier, hearing Tian Heming utter those two words cleared them. He quickly inquired how they found her.

”It was she who found us, entrusting us to treat General Zhou,” Tian Heming tried to explain simply and clearly.

Du Kai Bo and Mei Siyuan exchanged puzzled glances. Since Mei was older and unafraid of offending anyone, he straightforwardly asked, ”Pardon me, Doctor Tian, but why did the Mystic Doctor choose you?”

Dong Fengzhen seemed mildly displeased, but Tian Heming maintained his smile, ”She didn’t say, but I guess it’s because we’ve been taking care of General Zhou’s health.”

That seemed reasonable, given that the foundation of the Mystic Doctor is traditional medicine. The Tian Family is not only a family of traditional medicine but also has been taking care of General Zhou’s health for two years, making them the most suitable choice.

”In that case, may we meet the Mystic Doctor?” Du Kai Bo asked, having long desired to meet her again since last time.

Tian Heming shook his head, ”That’s precisely the matter. The Mystic Doctor doesn’t want to reveal herself, so she entrusted the Tian Family to treat on her behalf. She hopes you two can keep it confidential, saying that any leak will cause her to leave.”

The last sentence was added by Tian Heming himself.

Du Kai Bo believed it without a doubt; it was just like last time when the Mystic Doctor vanished without a trace. Thus he firmly believed Tian Heming’s words.

Mei Siyuan had heard of this before. He just wanted to witness the treatment process of the Mystic Doctor. Regarding confidentiality, he had no objections; anyway, if questioned from above, he would let the Tian Family explain it.

The two naturally had no objections. Tian Heming originally wanted them to sign some sort of confidentiality agreement but thought better of it, realizing that with military ranks, such agreements couldn’t be signed casually.

Although Tian Heming was still somewhat worried, he could only temporarily trust their integrity.
