I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 369: Chapter 368: Apology

Tian Zhi got a bit emotional and didn’t feel like talking much. It wasn’t that he had any issues with Beisitian, he was just unhappy that everyone was pressuring him to do things he didn’t plan to do.

Also, this cousin was about the same age as him, they were peers, so why did he have to take her as a teacher?

Tian Zhi knew things weren’t as he thought, after all, his grandparents were so eager too, but he just didn’t want to be forced by anyone.

Tian Zhi had a clean and gentle appearance like a boy next door, but his character was very stubborn, and Tian Qingyao, being his father, had no solution for this. As children grow up, they have their own ideas, and can’t be expected to obey orders like when they were little.

The matters below involved General Zhou, which made it inconvenient for Tian Zhi to listen, so Tian Qingyao told him to go to the east wing of the front yard to find his mother and brother and wait for him to send them back later.

After Tian Zhi left, the group discussed General Zhou and no longer mentioned the previous matter.

”Doctor Bei...”

”Uncle Five, just call me Beibei,” Beisitian said with a smile.

Tian Qingyao chuckled and changed his speech to Beibei, ”Do you have a solution for General Zhou’s illness?”

”Not for now,” Beisitian replied, explaining the general situation to Tian Qingyao again. ”Only by knowing the components and effects of the bad water can we find a way to counteract it.”

Tian Qinghui had provided Beisitian with a drop of General Zhou’s fresh blood, but Beisitian couldn’t decipher much. It wasn’t that the previous methods didn’t work, but that the drop of blood had been out of the body too long and wasn’t fresh anymore.

What she needed was freshly extracted right out of the body.

Due to the bad water, Zhou Biwu’s condition was already terrible, with severe damage to his internal organs. Even if the bad water could be controlled, recovery wouldn’t be a one-day affair, and improper care might mean spending his later years plagued with various illnesses.

Since the elder Tian Qinghui was not a Mystic Doctor, his abilities were limited. Beisitian felt troubled and finally said, ”I guess I’ll have to go myself.”

The fifth child, Tian Qingyao, shook his head, ”With Dean Du and Dean Mei at the sanatorium every day, you can’t avoid them if you go.”

Tian Heming suddenly said, ”If you can’t avoid them, why not just tell them directly?”

The Tian Qinghui brothers looked at their father; wouldn’t this expose Beisitian?

”Actually, Dean Du has already seen Beibei, right?” Tian Heming looked at Beisitian.

Beisitian nodded. Du Kai Bo had seen her and now knew her identity. Frankly, if Du Kai Bo investigated, he could certainly find out about her.

”What do you mean, Grandpa?” Beisitian seemed to understand what he meant.

Tian Heming nodded, ”Exactly. Why not just tell him? Du Kai Bo is a decent person, very tolerant. Since he has seen you and knows your connection with the Tian Family, if he investigates, he won’t find it hard to discover your identity. So why not just tell him, reach an agreement, and have him help keep it a secret? This way, you’re actually safer!”

Both Tian Qinghui and his brother thought it made sense, and it would make it much easier for Beisitian to move in and out of the sanatorium.

”What about Dean Mei?” Beisitian hadn’t met Mei Siyuan.

Tian Heming pondered for a moment and said, ”I don’t know Mei Siyuan well. Maybe I should go and meet Du Kai Bo first and see the situation before deciding.”

Everyone agreed; that was the best they could do currently. They could afford to wait, but Zhou Biwu couldn’t. Even with Beisitian’s talismanic water supporting him, his internal organs were already at their limit.

Beisitian was getting ready to leave, and the fifth child, Tian Qingyao, came over and said, ”I’ll give Beibei a ride.”

Beisitian didn’t stand on ceremony. She wasn’t familiar with the Capital City and didn’t know how to get back other than taking a taxi, which seemed a bit extravagant all the time.

The elder Tian Qinghui went to the sanatorium, and today the plan was to let the fifth child have a day off, as he hadn’t been home for several days.

Tian Qingyao and Beisitian went to the front yard together. Seeing Shao Jia Min, he suddenly remembered what she had said earlier. Beisitian had given her a bottle of clear water, claiming it was medicine. Presumably, that was the talismanic water!

Tian Qingyao contained the excitement in his heart. He hadn’t seen what talismanic water looked like before and planned to take a good look when he got back.

When they reached the front yard, Tian Zhi was standing dazed under the old locust tree, seemingly still a bit troubled by today’s events.

Tian Qingyao went in to help Shao Jia Min pack up. Seeing that Beisitian hadn’t come along, he planned to remind his wife later.

Seeing Beisitian, Tian Zhi felt a bit embarrassed and hesitated for a while before walking over.

”Cousin, I-I wasn’t targeting you just now, I just didn’t quite understand...” Tian Zhi said somewhat sheepishly. Acting that way must have made Beisitian feel awkward, right?

Beisitian smiled slightly. Tian Zhi at this moment was very much like her at that time, just as stubborn. But she hadn’t ever apologized to her master for things back then.

”It’s alright, let’s just see it as mutual exchange. We can talk about the apprenticeship later.”

Tian Zhi opened his mouth. He always felt it was odd; where was there still talk of disciples and apprentices nowadays? It felt so strange!

”This is the third bottle of talismanic water. Since you’ve taken it today, continue to drink it for the next three days. Although you haven’t graduated yet, your knowledge of Chinese medicine is solid. You can try to feel the changes inside.” Beisitian handed him a small jar.

Tian Zhi took it and nodded, also feeling curious about this so-called talismanic water.

Before long, Tian Qingyao came out carrying his younger son, Tian Hao, and holding Shao Jia Min’s hand. Shao Jia Min saw Beisitian outside and quickly let go of her husband’s hand, embarrassed to be seen like this by the young ones.

Both Beisitian and Tian Zhi pretended not to have noticed and followed behind the two.

Both Tian Qingyao and Tian Zhi had been told by Tian Heming not to expose Beisitian’s identity and to treat her like an ordinary niece outside.

Though Tian Qingyao felt a bit awkward inside, he did quite well, and at least Shao Jia Min didn’t notice anything.

”We’ll drop Beibei off first, and then head home,” Tian Qingyao said.

The Tian family had a total of three cars, all shared. Since Tian Qingyao was staying at the sanatorium, he naturally had the right to use one.

The place where Beisitian was staying wasn’t far from here. Although it was out of the way, they arrived quickly.

Once at her doorstep, there was naturally no reason not to go in. The family followed Beisitian into the small courtyard.

Tian Hao was put down and immediately ran towards the toon tree, and the others followed to look around.

”This small courtyard is really nice, square and bright,” Shao Jia Min said with a smile.

Although this small courtyard was only half the size of the Tian family’s front yard, it was more than enough for two people to live in. And when they had two more children, the whole family would be together in harmony, and thinking about it was truly wonderful.
