I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 347: Chapter 346: A Change Emerges

Luo Xudong did not notice anything unusual about the person, he focused on Beisitian’s odd behavior, which prompted his question.

”So, is he also a Mystic Doctor?” Luo Xudong asked.

”Using talisman powder doesn’t necessarily make one a Mystic Doctor, but it’s definitely related to them.” Beisitian laughed.

Early the next morning, Beisitian woke up to see Wei Zhongxun stretching and exercising in the yard, making loud vocalizations as he moved.

The day before was too late, and she hadn’t paid much attention to Wei Zhongxun’s appearance. Today, she noticed he looked extremely androgynous, his appearance could be described as beautiful!

Beisitian didn’t know that such a face was very popular among young people, many girls liked this kind of face, not exactly handsome, but rather refined and elegant.

Wei Zhongxun saw Beisitian standing on the steps, watching him, her hair cascading down her back, clad in a smoky wool coat, with a knitted dress underneath, and black leather ankle boots that perfectly showcased her figure. Standing there, she seemed like a warm ray of sunshine in winter.

”Mr. Wei, the injury on your face...” Beisitian feigned an expression of surprise.

After a night, Wei Zhongxun’s face had already scabbed over, which was considered very fast for an ordinary person. Beisitian was thereby able to assess the efficacy of that talisman powder, noting that its effect was not as good as what she made. For such superficial wounds, with her talisman powder, the scab would have already fallen off.

Wei Zhongxun, unfazed, smiled at Beisitian, ”This is a miraculous medicine, the efficacy is top-notch!”

This person indeed couldn’t speak seriously, but such words usually allowed him to muddle through situations.

”So, it’s miraculous, huh? Mr. Wei, do you have more? I have a younger brother who’s mischievous and always getting bumps and bruises. If we had this medicine, we wouldn’t worry about him getting hurt repeatedly in the same spot.” Beisitian displayed a look of desire.

Wei Zhongxun’s eyes lit up, ”I have plenty, want some? But you should know, miraculous medicines are usually expensive.”

”How much is it? If it’s too expensive, I can’t afford it.” Beisitian seemed a bit troubled, ”Is this medicine traditional or Western? What’s in it?”

Wei Zhongxun raised an eyebrow, ”Would Mrs. Luo know if I told you?”

Beisitian smiled slightly, ”Give me some of the medicine powder, and I can guess the general components.”

Wei Zhongxun looked incredulous, not taking the bait, ”This medicine is ancestral, how could I let someone casually determine its ingredients? What if you’re an expert and actually figure it out, then I’d be a family traitor!”

With an exaggerated expression, Beisitian just smiled and dropped the subject, instead asking, ”Is Mr. Wei a doctor?”

”Of course, I made this medicine myself!” Wei Zhongxun replied proudly.

Beisitian confirmed his identity and stopped asking more questions, turning to casual topics instead, chatting briefly before going to make breakfast.

When Luo Xudong came back from his morning exercise, she had just finished making breakfast.

Wei Zhongxun had long smelled the aroma and was wandering in the yard, occasionally glancing towards the north house. Finally, Luo Xudong gave the man outside a look, stood up, and opened the door, ”Come in and join us.”

Wei Zhongxun had been waiting for that invitation, without any hesitation, he walked in happily, making Beisitian speechless. Was it really okay to make your intention to freeload so obvious?

After drinking two bowls of egg drop soup and eating three stuffed pancakes, Wei Zhongxun stopped, satisfied, saying to Luo Xudong, ”Mrs. Luo’s culinary skills are superb, brother, you’re lucky! By the way, does Mrs. Luo have any sisters you could introduce to me? Don’t worry, I assure you I’m an exceptionally good citizen!”

Luo Xudong: ”...”

Beisitian: ”...”

Just based on your last sentence, you don’t seem like a good person!

After the meal, Wei Zhongxun wiped his mouth and handed a piece of paper to Luo Xudong, asking, ”Brother, do you know how to get to this address?”

Beisitian tilted her head slightly to glance at it, feeling a flicker of interest.

He asked about a sanatorium, but Beisitian remembered that the sanatorium was very close to General Zhou’s retirement home. Finding this sanatorium was essentially the same as finding the retirement home.

So was he really looking for the sanatorium, or was he looking for the retirement home?

Luo Xudong shook his head, ”Sorry, we’re here visiting from out of town, we’re not familiar with the Capital City.”

Wei Zhongxun had to put away the note, a bit disappointed, ”Brothers across the four seas, once I’m done, I’ll definitely come back to find you and take you on a proper tour of the Capital City!”

”I thought this was Mr. Wei’s first time here.” Beisitian looked at him with a half-smile.

A crack appeared in Wei Zhongxun’s heart, indignantly, how could this be his first time here? He had been to Tiananmen in the Capital City when he was three years old, it certainly couldn’t be his first time here!

After breakfast, Wei Zhongxun left. After he departed, Luo Xudong went out to make a phone call and returned afterward.

”What’s your plan with the Tian Family?” Luo Xudong asked.

This matter was a bit difficult to handle; this time there was no way to pretend to be anyone’s apprentice to sneak in again,

Beisitian gazed at the withered cedar branches outside the window and said, ”We’ll see how it goes. We can’t just watch the Tian Family fall into ruin.”

”That Wei Zhongxun is not as incompetent as he appears on the surface,” Luo Xudong said.

In the morning, he’d seen Wei Zhongxun in the yard, lifting his arms and legs. Though his moves seemed awkward, his many years of keen observation were not wasted; he noticed that Wei Zhongxun’s stance was very steady, with excellent coordination, allowing him to perform any desired action effortlessly.

Just like a skateboard, it looked as if he was going to fall but never did, making the act seem dangerous yet exciting, achievable only by those highly skilled at skateboarding.

Beisitian nodded. Although his talisman powder wasn’t as effective as hers, his talisman making skill was quite high, perhaps on par with Tao Hailin, despite being much younger!

Moreover, the place he was likely looking for was the retirement home!

This was confirmed by ten o’clock; the call Luo Xudong made earlier was to have someone follow him, and they found out he was indeed looking for the retirement home.

The work that Luo Xudong had been doing over the past couple of days was something Beisitian knew about to some extent, but due to confidentiality, she never asked much.

While Beisitian and the others were figuring out what to do, there was a development at the retirement home.

The monitoring equipment in General Zhou’s hospital ward operated twenty-four hours a day, so when there was a change in his physical condition, someone was immediately aware.

The Tian Family were originally in the living room discussing how to prepare medicine to best utilize the ginseng’s effects, when they saw a group of people in white coats walk in.

The first thought that came to Tian Qinghui’s mind was that something had happened to General Zhou, but he had just checked and Zhou Biwu’s condition looked good, even better than the previous day.
