I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 329: Chapter 328: Home for the New Year

Upon hearing Beisitian’s request, Tian Heming suddenly remembered that this child also studied traditional Chinese medicine, and she was much better than those brats below.

”Who did Beibei study Chinese medicine with?” Tian Heming didn’t agree immediately; it would be best if he could exclude Beisitian, but how could he possibly let her get involved?

”Would you believe me if I said I was self-taught?” Beisitian smiled slightly, her big eyes sparkling. She knew Tian Heming didn’t like Beidewang, so she naturally wouldn’t mention him as a shield.

Tian Heming laughed heartily at her words, ”I don’t believe that. I know you must have learned from that little... your father, after all, your mother passed away when you were very young; otherwise, she would have certainly taught you herself!”

Although the Tian family was a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, the members were of varying caliber. The previous generation produced five or six successful ones, including side branches. Tian Meijun was very skilled in traditional Chinese medicine, and her prescriptions always surprised people with their effectiveness!

Such a pity for his little Jun, such a good seed.

Thinking of his late youngest daughter, Tian Heming’s expression darkened.

”I’m telling you, old man, aren’t you being a bit too biased? Xiao Wu just came back, and you gave him a pen, but after all these years by your side, I’ve never seen you be so generous!” Tian Qiu complained.

Tian Heming replied irritably, ”You dare ask me for a pen? We are a renowned family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, and you ran off to become an assistant manager? You didn’t even study medicine, so why should I give you a pen?”

Even if you studied medicine, you wouldn’t casually get this pen. Among their generation, only the eldest brother had one, and then there was Beisitian.

Tian Lei’s eyes lit up, and he weakly raised his hand, ”Grandpa, I’m studying medicine...” Can I have one?

Before he could finish speaking, he was greeted with a lion’s roar from Tian Heming: ”Scram! You dare call yourself part of the Tian family and ask me for a pen? We are a renowned family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, and you went to study Western medicine!”

Tian Lei immediately welled up with tears, shivering in silence!

Seeing Tian Heming snap out of his youngest daughter’s sadness, Beisitian smiled slightly and glanced at Tian Qiu, who was ungrateful in words but soft at heart.

Although Tian Heming roared at Tian Lei, he wasn’t genuinely angry. The scolding he deserved had already happened when he went to medical school, but it was futile.

Tian Heming then looked at Luo Xudong, asked a few basic questions, and nodded repeatedly, ”Achieving first-class merit for the country at such a young age, you are commendable!”

Luo Xudong smiled, ”Thank you, Grandpa, for the praise.”

Tian Heming nodded, having learned from Tian Lei that Luo Xudong was straightforward with women like Li Ying and genuinely cared for Beisitian, which relieved him.

This trip of Tian Heming’s was well-thought-out. Since he planned on acknowledging this child, he might as well come himself. He wanted to see his little granddaughter as soon as possible and also use this to notify others that she was the Tian family’s granddaughter.

The initial plan was to have Beisitian go to the Capital City and invite guests, but General Zhou’s current condition was poor, relying on Centennial Ginseng to sustain him. During such sensitive times, they wouldn’t dare hold a banquet.

So, they had to use this method to inform the world.

Tian Heming stayed for a day before leaving. Although the old man no longer managed family affairs, there was still a pile of messy issues waiting for him to clean up, and he wouldn’t feel at ease staying even a day longer.

”It’s not long until the New Year. After the New Year, come to the Capital City; your grandparents are waiting for you!” Tian Heming said.

He knew this was Luo Xudong’s first time coming home for the New Year since returning, so he asked them to come to the Capital City after the New Year, before their vacation ended.

Both agreed, and with that, Tian Heming returned. Tian Qiu followed, leaving behind a relieved Tian Lei.

Tian Lei had to stay for some time before returning; only two people were enough to remain on duty in the health team.

It had been over ten days since the gala. Tian Lei left Anding City for the Capital City yesterday. Luo Jiali left two days earlier; her family seemed to be somewhere near Shanghai, though the exact location was unknown because she rarely talked about her family.

”Xudong, come with me again today~” Beisitian looked at Luo Xudong with her large pupils.

With such eyes looking at him, Luo Xudong had to compromise, not to mention the purchased items were for the New Year at home.

But...

”Isn’t the New Year’s shopping enough?” Luo Xudong glanced at the large bags of items.

”It’s just right that we can drive back, so we bought more. Plus, I promised Ping’an to buy a lot of delicious things for him!” Beisitian laughed.

Luo Xudong’s mouth couldn’t help but turn up.

”Oh, I also bought some for Uncle.” Beisitian added.

That was due to Luo Aiguo and his son helping several times. After all, the relationship was not truly severed; if it were to end, it wouldn’t be them who decided.

Luo Xudong nodded, and the two went to the department store together.

”Did you call Brother?” Beisitian asked.

”I did; he said he’d come back but would be a few days late, probably before New Year’s Eve.” Luo Xudong said.

Beisitian nodded. This time, Luo Xuhua should be bringing his whole family back. Qin Hongmei didn’t matter; she had to meet Luo Aiguo somehow.

The two quickly came out of the mall, Luo Xudong carrying a bag of cola and some other snacks, which were for Luo Xuping.

Beisitian said that with her regulating the little guy’s health, there wouldn’t be any problems, and kids should eat more snacks.

In the early hours of the next morning, the two, along with Zhuangzhuang, returned home. Because of Zhuangzhuang, Luo Xudong borrowed Sergeant Zhou’s car.

Zhuangzhuang wasn’t new to car rides, but still, he was excited, occasionally pressing his snout against the glass, fogging it up with breaths, and nuzzling against Beisitian, who was in the front passenger seat, with joy.

At this time, there were few cars on the road, and though the roads weren’t very well-developed, Luo Xudong and Beisitian drove themselves, avoiding detours, but still spent most of the night and a whole day on the road.

When they reached Dayan, it was almost seven o’clock; Beisitian, still a bit sleepy, immediately perked up when she saw the two elders and a child standing on the Dayan.

Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo stood on the Dayan for two hours. Initially, they wanted Ping’an to go back, but the child stubbornly refused, his face turning red from the cold.

”Dad, Mom!” Beisitian called out as she got out of the car, her tone intimate.

Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo grinned, coming to stand on either side of Beisitian, asking how she had been during this time, and whether she had trouble adjusting, questions that had clearly been answered over the phone.

As Luo Xudong got out of the car, he saw the couple surrounding Beisitian, suddenly feeling like he’d come to his mother-in-law’s home...

Luo Xuping heard a sound from the rear seat and saw Zhuangzhuang pawing at the window, barking at him, so he hurriedly opened the car door for it.
