I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 306: Chapter 305: The Old Master Arrives

”Old sir!” Beisitian’s face wore a light smile, but the delight in her eyes was unmistakable.

Wu Yuekai hadn’t seen Beisitian for a long time. Seeing her now, thinking of those mind-boggling things in his dreams, he showed a long-lost smile.

Though the events in the dreams were unbelievable, the feelings they brought filled Wu Yuekai’s heart genuinely.

As he looked at Beisitian now, things were different from how they were before.

”Girl,” Wu Yuekai called softly.

Beisitian saw the smile on his face, and for a moment, she was dazed as if seeing her mentor. Quickly, she shook her head and chuckled, dismissing her stray thoughts.

”Why did you only just arrive?” Beisitian asked with a hint of coquettishness.

”Got held up by something. The old divisional commander only got here this morning,” Li Xuejun hurriedly explained. Definitely couldn’t let Comrade Xiao Bei misunderstand; the old divisional commander had been waiting eagerly these past days just to come quickly today.

”Comrade Xiao Li, long time no see!” Beisitian said with a smile.

Li Xuejun chuckled, scratching his head, ”It’s been a while indeed, who’d have thought you’d become a military doctor!”

After exchanging a few words in the hall, Beisitian led them further inside, with Sun Wangnian standing behind her, waiting patiently for them to finish speaking.

”Old divisional commander, how’s your health doing?” Sun Wangnian asked with concern.

”All good!” Wu Yuekai glanced at Sun Wangnian, ”Is there anything going on?”

Sun Wangnian knew he was asking about Doctor Xiao Bei’s situation. Saying there’s nothing would obviously be a lie, yet the recent rumors were hard to speak of.

”After my check-up, let’s catch up in your office,” Wu Yuekai, with his sharp eyes, immediately spotted Sun Wangnian’s hesitation to speak.

If he directly asked Beisitian or Luo Xudong, they’d surely respond with perfunctory reassurances like ’everything’s fine.’ So, he simply didn’t ask them.

Wu Yuekai began his medical examination following the procedure, with everyone putting in their utmost efforts, knowing he was the last one and also the most distinguished one!

Why call him the most distinguished and not the highest-ranked? Because though he had a colonel rank like others being examined, only this old divisional commander held real power and was of significant status in the military!

Ding Sisi diligently helped Wu Yuekai with this and that, hoping to gain the favor of this influential figure. Even a few words of concern would make her happy, given his authoritative status!

However, clearly, this old divisional commander was quite busy, coming and going quickly without saying a word, leaving Ding Sisi feeling somewhat disappointed.

After the examination, Wu Yuekai went upstairs, instructing Li Xuejun and the others to wait outside before entering the room.

Li Xuejun and the others were orderlies and guards, and many things couldn’t be disclosed to them.

Sun Wangnian had been waiting inside and quickly opened the door for Wu Yuekai, with Beisitian sitting on the sofa.

Beisitian stood up and helped Wu Yuekai to the sofa, pouring him a glass of water.

Looking at the clear water, Wu Yuekai felt quite bland and wanted to speak, but Beisitian beat him to it, ”You can’t drink tea!”

Wu Yuekai had to close his mouth, showing a wry smile, ”I’m already fine.”

”I’ll make you some more medicine a few times, hang in there for now,” Beisitian said, wanting to take this opportunity to improve Wu Yuekai’s health, noticing how poor it was.

Wu Yuekai showed helplessness on his face but felt differently inside. Old Du indicated that though the poison was cleared, his body might not be as robust as before. His health had never been a strength, fearing significant decline this time.

Yet after the toxins were entirely removed, Wu Yuekai didn’t experience fatigue or weakness; he actually felt a bit more confident than before.

Although physical indicators only check for standard levels, determining health quality is another matter. Wu Yuekai’s various indicators were within the standard range, an improvement compared to before.

Not talking about indicators, Wu Yuekai could feel his own body, knowing that each winter he couldn’t wait to wear warm clothes early, yet he was still wearing thin sweaters now - that was the biggest difference.

Besides having more confidence when speaking, he felt more energetic, no longer needing tea to stay alert, as he’d be sluggish all day without it before.

That’s not all; sleeping at night was most torturous, often getting up and having poor sleep quality, plagued with long, restless dreams.

Although these issues still exist now, compared to before the poisoning, he’s significantly better!

That’s definitely thanks to Beisitian’s medicine powder!

Thus, when Beisitian proposed making more medicine for him, he felt happy, as who wouldn’t want to have good health? Dragging a weakened body, he lacked the energy to do many things, feeling like a person in their 70s despite being 64!

Sun Wangnian watched in surprise, as the stubborn old divisional commander was willing to listen to Doctor Xiao Bei’s advice - it was like the sun rising from the west!

He noticed that Beisitian conversed with Wu Yuekai without any restraint, like between family juniors and elders, and his close relationship made him glad to align with the right team.

”Old sir, how did you get poisoned?” Beisitian asked.

This topic wasn’t suitable to discuss over the phone, and Beisitian held back till now.

Wu Yuekai thought for a moment, saying to Beisitian, ”Don’t worry about these things. Someone took advantage of a loophole, but by the time I woke up, it was resolved.”

Understanding that Wu Yuekai didn’t want her to fret over the matter, Beisitian frowned slightly, thinking, ”I’ll make you some detoxifying talisman pills. Keep them with you; they might come in handy!”

Wu Yuekai accepted graciously, aware that the girl made excellent items. If he had doubts before, he no longer did after this, finding them more effective than Old Tao’s medicine.

”Girl, do you really plan to meet Old Tao after the New Year?” Wu Yuekai asked, intending to support her if she faced any difficulties.

Beisitian smiled, ”Yes, I want to meet fellow practitioners.”

Wu Yuekai nodded, ”Alright, then it will be in the Capital City. I’ll arrange a meeting place for you.”
