I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 310: Chapter 309: Stunning

The evening party preparations began in the morning, and each team’s tasks were clearly defined, but coordination was necessary, and they were busy until the eve of the party’s opening before finishing.

Costumes for the performing arts troupe were prepared by dedicated personnel, but family members and departmental people had to prepare their own. Departments willing to buy them could, and those unwilling could wear their own clothes.

Every year, the family choir wore pink shirts and black pants, and this year was no exception. Beisitian naturally prepared a set as well.

However, she specially bought a qipao for the medical team’s performance.

In keeping with the characteristics of the song, Luo Jiali also bought a qipao, but hers was a short qipao, just over the knee, while Beisitian’s was a long one, reaching the ankles.

Her qipao was a pink and blue color that lent her a touch of playfulness amidst elegance, making her appear far less somber.

Tian Lei, upon seeing Luo Jiali like this, was visibly impressed, though he didn’t verbalize his approval, saying instead, ”Wearing so short, be careful of getting a chill!”

Luo Jiali rolled her eyes at him; the performing arts troupe mostly wore skirts, so for their sake and the sake of the senior officers, the temperature of the entire event hall was raised, making it perfectly fine to wear skirts.

As the two were talking, the curtain opened, and Beisitian stepped out, leaving both Tian Lei and Luo Jiali amazed.

Beisitian wore a slim-fit qipao in aquamarine with intricate patterns. The shoulders and cuffs were adorned with a circle of white fur, exuding an air of elegance and nobility, highlighting Beisitian’s exquisite beauty even more!

Even though Luo Xudong had seen her trying on dresses at home, seeing her now still left him starstruck.

Beisitian had an excellent figure, with a waist of only 1.9 feet, a shapely bust and hips, complemented by two long and slender legs, and that beautiful face, making her hard not to notice.

For a brief moment, Luo Xudong entertained the idea of taking her home—such a Beisitian should only be seen by him!

”Xudong.” Beisitian saw Luo Xudong standing at the door and couldn’t help but smile.

That dazzling smile almost blinded Luo Xudong.

”Are you cold?” Luo Xudong asked in a low voice.

His voice was very pleasant, clear and fresh when higher, deep and magnetic when lower, especially when singing, a voice that could enrapture Beisitian for a long time.

”Not cold.” Beisitian smiled slightly. Even though it was short-sleeved, she didn’t feel cold at all; it was just that she was still not used to wearing high heels.

The white high heels fitted her tender and petite feet perfectly, making her look like an absolute stunner!

Tian Lei and Luo Jiali stood by, watching the couple gush over each other, exchanged a glance, and both awkwardly turned their heads away.

”Make sure to sing well later, don’t embarrass me.” Tian Lei rubbed his nose, sensing a strange atmosphere between him and Luo Jiali.

Luo Jiali, looking elsewhere, huffed, ”Don’t worry about me, just make sure you keep up with my pace.”

There was still some time before they were on stage, during which they could cover up with their clothes and sit in the audience to watch.

The order of performances was interspersed, with various departments and companies interspersed among the performances of the performing arts troupe.

In essence, the performances of the performing arts troupe remained the main highlight, naturally with them as the finale. The rest, whether departmental programs or those of family female soldiers, were to enhance the atmosphere.

After all, the performing arts troupe were professionals, whereas the others were not. By interspersing non-professional performances among the professional ones, audiences could feel familiar and thrilled seeing people they knew on stage, and it wouldn’t lead to aesthetic fatigue.

Two hosts from the performing arts troupe took the stage, one male and one female, both in military uniforms with some decorative yellow shoulder straps. The female host’s uniform was a skirt, and they energetically kicked off the evening’s proceedings.

A brief speech by the leadership opened the evening with the professional performances by the cultural and artistic soldiers of the troupe.

Their resplendent dresses and the graceful dances of the cultural female soldiers on stage, accompanied by the music, really lifted the atmosphere.

After the grand song and dance, there was a solo performance by Li Na. At this stage, the solo wasn’t so significant, so naturally, it wouldn’t be Li Ying on stage.

Li Na sang a powerful song lauding the motherland and then stepped off the stage. She had this opportunity because of her close relationship with Li Ying, who strongly recommended her to Yuan Guiling.

A song praising the motherland livened up the atmosphere, followed by more dance performances from the troupe. After two dance numbers, it was the turn for various companies and departments to perform.

Interspersed among the troupe’s performances, the company and departmental shows, just as planned, effectively enlivened the atmosphere. There were some talented individuals among the companies—solo comedians, self-written skits—bringing the soldiers sitting on stools below into fits of laughter.

The laughter wasn’t perhaps about the skits themselves, but more about seeing their fellow soldiers behaving differently from usual.

The soldiers below sat on stools, organized by squads, with a row of chairs for leaders at the front. There was a raised platform at the back for three or four rows of chairs for senior officers and an army division commander.

Wu Yuekai, seated atop the raised platform, scanned the crowd below for Beisitian first, then for Luo Xudong.

Seeing this, Sun Guicai chuckled and asked, ”Who’s the division commander looking for?”

”Two kids, these unruly ones, not even coming over to chat with me,” Wu Yuekai scolded with a smile, appearing indulgent.

Sun Guicai understood that it seemed the old division commander had younger family members serving here and was quite fond of them. Someone like Nannan who aspired to rise could really benefit from befriending these younger ones, as they would be significant assets in the future!

”Heroic youths indeed. If I, an old man, get the chance to meet the division commander’s outstanding young ones, this trip would have been worthwhile,” Sun Guicai laughed heartily.

Wu Yuekai glanced at him with a meaningful look, ”You’ll get to meet them, but Brother Sun, at our age, we should let the young folks handle their own affairs and think more about how to enjoy our retirement.”

Sun Guicai felt a bit tense inside, letting out a dry laugh, ”The division commander’s right.”

Seeing this, Wu Yuekai sighed internally and didn’t further respond, his eyes continuing to watch below.

Song Fanggang, sitting beside him, saw this and commented, ”Old division commander, which company are they in? I can have someone call them over for you.”

He could tell the old division commander valued these two, but he guessed they weren’t Wu Yuekai’s direct descendants, or he wouldn’t be so overt.

”No need, no need. If I call them over, they’ll complain that this old man is getting in their way,” Wu Yuekai quickly waved it off with a laugh.

At this point, even the least perceptive could see Wu Yuekai’s special regard for these younger ones, stirring curiosity about them in everyone’s hearts.
