I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 332: Chapter 331: There Really Is a Job for You

Of course, Liu Chunshu wouldn’t give things for no reason; he came hoping Beisitian could help him find a job. Although it was somewhat inappropriate to ask soon after her return, he really didn’t want to idle around anymore, especially with his sister earning a salary at home!

Liu Chunyu frowned at her eager brother; only this fool would come up with such a request at this time!

Beisitian invited Liu Chunshu in to sit, and he eagerly followed. When he turned around, he found there was someone else following him.

Looking at the sour expression on his mother’s face, Liu Chunshu felt the shame; it was truly embarrassing!

Zhang Yuzhi had no choice; since she knew Luo Xudong and his wife were coming back, Liu Chunshu couldn’t sit still, pestering her daily to go with him. That was the only way he might convince Beisitian.

Pressed by her eldest son, Zhang Yuzhi reluctantly agreed and came with her face still somewhat unpleasant. She tugged Beisitian’s clothes and whispered, ”Don’t feel pressured.”

Beisitian couldn’t help but laugh, said nothing more, and the group went inside.

Once inside, Zhang Yuzhi started chatting with Mrs. Qin, having no intention of helping her son plead his case. Liu Chunshu’s face fell; was she really his mother?

”Little Tian’er, here’s the thing, I know you have a wide network, you’re smart, pretty, and capable. So, could you help me find a job?” Liu Chunshu giggled, nudged Liu Chunyu with his elbow.

Liu Chunyu rolled her eyes and moved away from him.

Liu Chunshu felt frustrated; no one was willing to help him!

His mother and sister weren’t unwilling to help him, but over the years, he’d been running around with no results, not bringing back a cent, and sometimes even losing things.

Over time, he naturally seemed unreliable. Asking Beisitian to help recommend a job was like inviting trouble for that job!

”Little Tian’er, are you still mad about that incident in town?” Liu Chunshu chuckled awkwardly.

Beisitian had quite the memory, probably still holding a grudge over this matter.

Hearing this, Zhang Yuzhi stopped her conversation with Mrs. Qin, turned her head to listen. What happened in the town? There was something she didn’t know?

Not only Zhang Yuzhi, but Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo also didn’t know; all eyes turned towards them.

”I sincerely apologize to you, it was my blindness, mistaking pearls for fish eyes!” Liu Chunshu pretended to slap his own face.

”What happened?” Zhang Yuzhi asked with interest.

Off to the side, Liu Chunyu quietly recounted the events of that time. Zhang Yuzhi immediately curled her lips, thinking how blind he was, even if he wasn’t blind, he shouldn’t talk about people that way.

Mrs. Qin and Luo Anguo couldn’t help but grunt when they heard, saying it served him right for not finding a job, always looking with those ”dog eyes” and talking so unpleasantly, now having to turn to their Little Tian’er for help!

Beisitian chuckled and shook her head; she hadn’t been angry since Liu Chunshu brought a spade to the village entrance to help her block Du Chunmei.

But Liu Chunshu didn’t let her speak and went on with his lively chatter.

”Brother Chunshu, I do have a job for you,” Beisitian smiled.

Liu Chunshu was stunned, thinking there was no hope, but suddenly things cleared up, and he was overjoyed, asking, ”What kind of job?”

”How about being a security guard for my calligraphy and painting shop? You’ll be responsible for the store and my family’s safety. Sixty a month, with lunch included!” Beisitian offered.

She had long planned this; with Zhuangzhuang around before, she had no worries about home. Now that Zhuangzhuang was with them, she felt uneasy leaving the house unattended.

Liu Chunshu was a good choice. Being a security guard at the shop was essentially securing Luo Er’s family, which was why she was willing to pay nearly three times the usual rate!

In Anding City, a bank security guard earned only twenty-three a month, and here she was offering sixty, which was quite a sum.

Liu Chunshu was stunned. He knew how much security guards earned; in town, they made only seventeen or eighteen a month. Compared to that, this was truly a high salary!

”Good, good, good! I can start now!” Liu Chunshu patted his chest and said.

Zhang Yuzhi and Liu Chunyu didn’t expect Beisitian to really find him a job, but upon hearing the job description, they both felt relieved and understood Beisitian’s intentions.

Liu Chunshu didn’t inherit his father’s craft, nor was he suited for business. Back when the Tyrant Zhang family was around, it didn’t show, but Liu Chunshu frequently got into fights in the village when he was younger. It was only after starting a family that he toned down, so having him guard Luo Er’s family was definitely fine.

But who knew if this blockhead understood Beisitian’s meaning? They’d need to explain it to him properly later.

Just then, Luo Xudong returned.

Zhao Yuzhi looked at the tall and robust eldest son of the Luo family and started chatting with a smile. Luo Xudong greeted her as ”Aunt” and headed to the west room.

Seeing him leave with a swagger, smiling, and praising him to the Luo Anguo couple, had it not been for his marriage with Beisitian, the village maidens might have been quite fond of him.

Luo Xudong was not much of a talker, appearing stern, but he wasn’t cold-hearted. On the contrary, he often showed a warm side.

On the third day after Luo Xudong and Beisitian returned, Luo Xuhua sent word that he wouldn’t be back until the first day of the new year, as his son had a fever and was on an IV drip at the hospital.

Luo Xudong asked about the situation. It wasn’t serious, just a cold caused by the weather, and three days of IV would clear it up. However, they hoped to return only when he was well.

Beisitian could imagine why Luo Xuhua changed his mind last minute; probably to avoid the dilemma of not knowing where to celebrate the new year after returning to the village!

Returning home meant dealing with Qin Hongmei and Old Mrs. Luo, making a good celebration impossible. Going to Luo Anguo’s for the new year didn’t seem appropriate either, so waiting until the first day of the new year was a way to avoid a bad celebration at home and avoid outside gossip.

Although Luo Anguo and his wife were disappointed, they quickly understood the reasoning.

New Year’s Eve came quickly. Luo Xuping rarely got a holiday from Luo Xudong, and now he felt more admiration than fear for him, having seen Luo Xudong run several laps around the village without breaking a sweat!

Despite Luo Xudong’s sternness, he was great in other aspects, just as his sister had said; there was indeed another person who cared for him!

Unconsciously, Luo Xuping’s wariness towards his big brother slowly faded.

That night of New Year’s Eve, the firecrackers continued for most of the night as every household celebrated the arrival of the new year.
