I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 327: Chapter 326: Zhuangzhuang

Song Fanggang was stunned. Was it about this matter?

”Alright, no problem.”

Song Fanggang felt it was a bit much to specially inform him about such a small matter, but after thinking carefully about it, perhaps the main point was to let Luo Xudong and Beisitian take care of it.

When Wu Yuekai spoke, Beisitian’s heart instantly rose. Wu Yuekai wouldn’t be so idle as to pick up a dog by the roadside for them to take care of. What he mentioned must definitely be Zhuangzhuang!

Indeed, Li Xuejun led a dog from the back, who else could it be if not Zhuangzhuang!

The moment Beisitian saw Zhuangzhuang, she couldn’t hold back anymore, tears flooded out. At this moment, Zhuangzhuang was so skinny, only skin and bones were left. His eyes, which used to be bright and spirited, now showed no energy, his ears drooped, and the entire dog was lifeless.

”Zhuangzhuang~” Beisitian softly called out.

Zhuangzhuang’s ears suddenly perked up. He lifted his head, saw Beisitian, let out a howl, and rushed over, hugging, licking, and wagging his tail around Beisitian joyfully.

Watching the scene, Wu Yuekai couldn’t help but shake his head. Along the way, the dog seemed lifeless, but the moment it saw the girl, it was revitalized.

The reason for his late arrival was exactly because he purposely went to Kao Village to fetch Zhuangzhuang.

Song Fanggang saw this and understood everything clearly. Obviously, the dog belonged to Beisitian. Although the troop didn’t have explicit regulations forbidding dog keeping, previously, families keeping dogs had brought a lot of trouble, leading to the practice being banned for a time.

The old military commander claimed the dog was his; anyone questioning it should go find the old military commander.

For now, Zhuangzhuang would be kept in this courtyard. Beisitian planned to take Zhuangzhuang out for walks more often. When he became a common sight, people wouldn’t find him odd anymore.

Li Xuejun at this moment brought in a small basin of dog food, vegetable soup mixed with corn buns and steamed buns. Zhuangzhuang darted over and began eating.

Li Xuejun laughed upon seeing this. He had tried various delicious foods for the dog, which refused to eat, but upon seeing Beisitian, became entirely unpicky.

Now that Zhuangzhuang was willing to eat, recovery was just a matter of time; Beisitian felt relieved.

Song Fanggang was very busy, exchanged a few words with Wu Yuekai, and left. Beisitian and Luo Xudong were also preparing to leave after Zhuangzhuang finished eating.

Zhuangzhuang clung to Beisitian with his front paws, unwilling to let her go, afraid he might not see her if she left.

Beisitian stroked his head and said, ”Zhuangzhuang will stay here. I’ll come see you tomorrow and bring you something delicious.”

Zhuangzhuang still refused to let go. After persuading him many times, he reluctantly released his hold, squatting by the door watching her leave until she was out of sight.

Having Zhuangzhuang by her side made Beisitian very happy, far more than any success she could achieve on stage.

Luo Xudong gently wrapped her shoulder as they strolled back, chatting about the Tian Family along the way.

”Can you tell me now?” Beisitian leaned lightly on Luo Xudong’s shoulder, tilting her head slightly to ask.

The sweet scent of her breath penetrated Luo Xudong’s nose, tempting him to lean down and plant a kiss on her forehead, saying, ”The Tian Family is likely facing quite a crisis right now, which is why they haven’t come to recognize you yet.”

Beisitian listened quietly.

”Do you know General Zhou Biwu?”

Beisitian shook her head.

”Currently, General Zhou holds the rank of Lieutenant General, but in military achievements and experience, he surpasses even the old military commander. However, he’s said to have an unknown illness and has been bedridden, not attending inspections for the past two years.”

Beisitian asked, ”And what does this have to do with the Tian Family? Aren’t there so many military hospitals? The Tian Family isn’t the only one.”

Luo Xudong replied thoughtfully, ”But the Tian Family is the only traditional Chinese medicine family.”

Beisitian understood quickly, ”Does this have to do with the conflict between Chinese and Western medicine?”

Luo Xudong nodded, ”The state summoned these individual and family practitioners, including various military hospitals established by the state, and the Tian Family is the only traditional Chinese medicine family. In many people’s eyes, there’s no need for their existence.”

”So if they can’t cure General Zhou, the Tian Family might be squeezed out of the ’Imperial Physician’ ranks?”

”Not might, it will definitely happen,” Luo Xudong said.

Such an event was already beyond doubt. If the Tian Family was squeezed out of the draft scope, then others would certainly seize the opportunity and not let them have a chance to rise again. The Tian Family faced enormous disaster.

It’s not the first time such a thing occurred; Luo Xudong had heard of it before. In fact, the severity when it happened exceeded his description by several times.

Perhaps it wouldn’t lead to ruin, but the Tian Family’s path in traditional Chinese medicine was likely severed.

Because of this, acknowledging Beisitian might also implicate her.

Beisitian nodded. No wonder Tian Lei refused to say anything when asked.

”This time, they perhaps thought that if they didn’t clarify, you’d be sentenced for disrupting military marriage, which led them to step out,” Luo Xudong said.

Even if the Tian Family didn’t clarify, Luo Xudong wouldn’t let that happen, though perhaps it would have been somewhat affected, which is why he followed Wu Yuekai’s advice to observe changes quietly.

If he could avoid bringing any influence on Beisitian, it would naturally be best. As for future Tian Family changes, if he couldn’t even protect his own wife, that top merit would be meaningless.

However, due to the Tian Family’s feelings toward Beisitian, Luo Xudong spoke softly and indirectly praised them.

Beisitian nodded, recalling the genuine joy on Tian Heming’s face when she called him ”Grandfather” and sighed.

Despite never meeting her biological mother, the debt of bearing life needed repayment. In any case, the Tian Family had indeed been kind to her.

Since they planned to meet Tian Heming tomorrow, Beisitian and Luo Xudong went to bed early.

Early the next morning, Beisitian first visited the small courtyard, handed over prepared Detoxification Pills and some talisman powder to Wu Yuekai, gave a few instructions, then happily ran to the yard.

When she arrived, Zhuangzhuang was lying at the door, in the same position as yesterday, evidently lying outside all night, leaving Beisitian deeply saddened.

”No wonder people call you a silly dog, don’t you know it’s cold!” Beisitian gently rubbed the fur on Zhuangzhuang’s neck, tears welling in her eyes.

Seeing Beisitian indeed returned, Zhuangzhuang wagged his tail joyfully, even had an appetite for breakfast.

After playing with Zhuangzhuang for a while, noticing it was late, Luo Xudong was already waiting at the door, and the two prepared to leave the base to visit Tian Heming.

After telling Zhuangzhuang to be good, they left.

Zhuangzhuang watched them leave wagging his tail, no longer worried like yesterday.

The two departed the base and headed to where Tian Heming was resting. Today, Tian Lei took leave, likely heading there too.
