I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 346: Chapter 345: Wei Zhongxun

Shao Simin looked at Luo Xudong and Beisitian, feeling very complicated inside, unsure of what to feel. These two rural people she had looked down upon had first silently bought a not-small courtyard in the Capital City, and its location was even better than hers.

Now they’ve made a grand gesture by putting in forty thousand yuan to become the second-largest shareholder of the Huasheng Group, having much more say than she does.

Shao Simin felt a bit embarrassed, having just assumed that they couldn’t afford it made her look like a joke. She wished she could find a hole to crawl into out of shame.

Though she was a college graduate, if she hadn’t married Luo Xuhua, she would be trying to find a decent job now, feeling smug about earning a fixed salary every day. Back then, her family wasn’t optimistic about her marriage, but later, Luo Xuhua silenced everyone with his ability.

She always considered herself quite good among women, but seeing Beisitian, her demeanor, and confidence, which she naturally possessed, combined with having Luo Xudong who pampers her, made her exude self-reliance and confidence, very dazzling, making Shao Simin feel a bit ashamed, even somewhat inferior.

Shao Simin was too embarrassed to say more, so she could only eat slowly.

After the meal, it was almost eight o’clock. Luo Xuhua and his partner drove home, and since the dining place was near the small courtyard, Luo Xudong and Beisitian held hands and walked back, treating it like a stroll.

The two walked while whispering jokes, when suddenly Luo Xudong stopped in his tracks, casually pulling Beisitian into his embrace, and then positioned himself in front of her.

Just as Beisitian was puzzled, a person rushed out from the alley ahead and fell to the ground, looking back in panic, and then shouted, ”Help, robbery! Police, please help me!”

He shouted while running towards them, tumbling and falling to the ground. Seeing Luo Xudong and Beisitian, he quickly got up, waving his hands frantically.

”Run, run, it’s a group of thugs!” The man said as he dashed past the two, running towards another alley.

Just as he entered the alley, seven or eight people burst out from another alley, some holding sticks, others small knives. Even though they didn’t see the person who ran earlier, they noticed Luo Xudong and Beisitian, especially Beisitian, slowing their pace with leering smiles as they approached.

The leading guy wore a leather jacket with wide bell-bottom jeans below, his hair slicked back and shiny, his fox-like eyes long and narrow, filled with a malicious glint as he looked Beisitian up and down.

Seeing his gaze, Luo Xudong narrowed his eyes slightly, pulling Beisitian back a bit.

This was nothing but a normal reaction, yet the thugs opposite burst into laughter, saying ”Don’t hide, everyone will ’meet openly’ later, better get familiar now... oof!”

The man just felt as if a huge stone from ten stories high had smashed into his face, head spinning, vision darkening, falling face up unconscious.

Luo Xudong didn’t even move his feet, retracting his fist, looking coldly at the few around him, pondering whether to just beat them up or to scare them off as a solution.

”You, you actually dared hit our guy, do you know who we are?”

”Just wait, don’t let us know where you live, or we’ll bring people and smash your place!”

These people, seeing how fierce Luo Xudong was, dared not get too close, each starting to spout harsh words, not realizing that it was this very talk that would land them in the hospital for half a year.

Upon hearing this, Luo Xudong hesitated no more, swiftly knocking these thugs to the ground with punches and kicks, everyone ending up with some broken bones, enough to let them stay down while he left with Beisitian.

A burst of applause rang out in the dark night as the man who had escaped earlier returned, eyes shining as he looked at Luo Xudong, ”Good skill, good skill! Masters are indeed among the people, the ancients did not deceive me!”

This person spoke with a constant playful tone.

”Hiss~ These brutes, hitting people hurts this much!” That man pretended to touch his face lightly, seemingly injured.

This man seemed about 1.8 meters tall, face couldn’t be seen clearly, and based on his voice, seemed under thirty, likely around the same age as Luo Xudong.

”Could you do me a favor and hold this flashlight? I need to apply some medicine quickly, wouldn’t want to leave a scar!” The man handed a flashlight to Luo Xudong.

Luo Xudong nonchalantly accepted it, shining it on his face, finally seeing his features, quite handsome, but seemed somewhat effeminate.

If this man knew what Luo Xudong thought of him, he would surely be jumping mad, what’s called effeminate, this is called handsome!

The man took a small bottle of white powder from a crossbody bag, then pulled out a small mirror, and quickly began applying the medicine facing the mirror.

A man actually carrying a mirror... Beisitian noted that she didn’t even have one.

But that’s not the point, the point is...

Beisitian eyed the white powder, glancing at Luo Xudong just in time to see him looking over too, did he notice it too?

”Applying the medicine like this won’t do, it’s sure to leave a scar, why not come to our place, there’s a big mirror where you can apply it carefully.” Beisitian suggested.

The man stopped as expected, ”That’s great, it’s such a hassle, hurt your face and it’s really fatal, shouldn’t leave a scar, I’m still single!”

”... it’s ’a person needs face, and a tree needs bark’!” Beisitian corrected, her mouth twitching.

”Oh, you get the point, close enough, really appreciate it!” The man laughed brightly, a gleam of success flashing in his eyes.

Just like that, another night with a free stay, knowing couples are the easiest to coax!

”My name is Wei Zhongxun, what about you?”

This person seemed quite sociable.

”My surname is Bei, this is my husband, surname Luo, how come you are out so late, Mr. Wei Zhongxian?” Beisitian asked casually.

The man paused for a moment, then said, ”It’s Wei—Zhong—xun!”

”Oh, sorry about that.” Beisitian followed his lead.

”I was just out for a stroll,” Wei Zhongxun casually fabricated, not having found a place to stay yet, and his travel expenses all spent on food and drink.

The three quickly arrived at the small courtyard, Luo Xudong calmly said, ”You can stay in the east room, there’s a mirror there.”

That was left behind by the original owner, so it was just convenient for Wei Zhongxun to use.

Wei Zhongxun thanked them, heading towards the east room.

Back in their room, Luo Xudong asked softly, ”Did you notice anything off?”

Beisitian nodded, looking at him and saying, ”What he used just now was talisman powder.”
