Why Would an Aircraft Carrier Be Dispatched to Escort His Fishing Boat?

75: Chapter 75 Pirates? The Chase by the Fishing Boat”What’s going on? A small fishing boat charging into an aircraft carrier strike group?”

Everyone on the cargo ship was stunned.

They wanted to see clearly, but unfortunately, the small fishing boat was blocked by the massive silhouette of the aircraft carrier.

Everyone could only look at Yang Wei in confusion, wondering what was going on.

At this moment, Yang Wei felt like ten thousand grass-mud horses were galloping through his heart.

A small fishing boat can actually join an aircraft carrier strike group.

Doesn’t that mean my ocean-going cargo ship could lead the way for the aircraft carrier?

”Could this small fishing boat be the same one that joined the fleet a while ago?”

Just then, someone suddenly asked.

As soon as these words were spoken, Yang Wei’s expression soured.

He had just claimed that no small fishing boat had joined the aircraft carrier strike group, insisting it was an amphibious landing ship.

And yet! Now, a small fishing boat had appeared within the aircraft carrier strike group.

”Didn’t you guys see it? This is an amphibious landing fishing warship; this is exactly what Brother Yang was talking about!”

Another classmate chimed in, flatteringly trying to explain.

”Oh! So that’s how it is.”

”Ah, yes, yes, yes, Brother Yang was right all along.”

Everyone suddenly understood and scrambled to give Yang Wei a way to save face.

”...”

Yang Wei was speechless. Anyone could tell that this wasn’t a warship; it was just a small fishing boat.

You guys are over here calling a fishing boat a warship!

After Jiang Chen sailed the pearl river 888 into the aircraft carrier strike group, he immediately slowed down.

If he kept skipping across the water like that, he would end up in front of the aircraft carrier.

[Setting off! First stop, Singapore port!]

The Dragon Cry strike group was fully formed, and Long Xiaotian issued the command.

The aircraft carrier strike group, spreading out over a dozen nautical miles, sailed majestically southward.

The pearl river 888 was the closest to the aircraft carrier, maintaining a distance of only one or two hundred meters throughout the journey.

Perhaps because of its small size, it was able to get closer.

Meanwhile, the Pterosaur Cruiser on the left was at least three nautical miles away from the carrier, keeping a wide distance.

As the sea area opened up, this distance continued to increase.

The field of view became increasingly vast.

It could be said that the pearl river 888 was the safest.

After all, the main base was not far away. Not only were there Xiao Long Fighter Jets, but also ship-borne missiles.

”Cuihua, you take the helm; I’m going to rest for a while.”

Jiang Chen greeted Cuihua and started to take a nap.

Aside from him, there was only Cuihua on this small fishing boat, with the Jindai Bird flying overhead; one human and one mecha, taking turns on duty.

He didn’t know how long he had slept.

Suddenly, an emergency command from Long Xiaotian came over the radio.

[Attention all units, this is the carrier command center. SkyNet radar shows a large number of unidentified personnel on the nameless island ahead, as well as hidden assault boats! Be prepared for combat at any time.]

Jiang Chen was jolted awake and sat up instantly.

”Pirates?”

Damn! He had encountered pirates in the southern waters last time; he didn’t expect to run into them again this time!

This time, an aircraft carrier was passing by, and the radar was even more precise.

He didn’t expect there to be pirates lurking. They were truly courting death.

Jiang Chen immediately picked up the walkie-talkie and roared at Long Xiaotian: [pearl river 888 received! Combat readiness confirmed!]

After finishing, Jiang Chen ordered Cuihua: ”Cuihua, go to the mortar; I’ll steer the ship. If you see pirates, open fire immediately! Hit them with everything you’ve got!”

”Yes!”

Cuihua stood in front of the mortar, looking professional.

The pearl river 888 had two mortars, one on each side. They could handle medium-to-long-range attacks.

There was also a Gatling gun located on the right side of the cockpit; if they encountered close-range enemies, they could provide Gatling gun fire coverage.

[pearl river 888, please be careful.]

Long Xiaotian was stunned for a moment after hearing Jiang Chen’s roar, but he quickly reacted.

After all, the pearl river 888 was a battalion-level combat unit. Although there were few people, it was equipped with firepower, and Jiang Chen had also passed military training.

Although it was his first time in actual combat, he did meet the requirements. So, he just gave Jiang Chen a reminder.

[Received!]

Jiang Chen headed toward the forward waters based on the pirate location sent by the aircraft carrier.

At this moment! The Pterosaur Cruiser on the left also dispatched a destroyer to surround the nameless island.

”This is military merit; I must secure it first.”

Seeing the destroyer approaching, Jiang Chen refused to be outdone and began to accelerate the pearl river 888.

Although the destroyer was fast, it was nowhere near as fast as the pearl river 888, which was equipped with the Houyi engine. Plus, its small size allowed it to accelerate and skip across the water instantly, charging several nautical miles ahead of the aircraft carrier.

”Boss, it’s bad! There are warships charging toward us from the right and north sides!”

”It looks like we’ve been spotted by the aircraft carrier strike group!”

On a nameless island, a shirtless pirate with his face covered, holding an AK, nervously scanned the surrounding waters with binoculars.

They had already observed the aircraft carrier and had long since hidden away. They had originally intended to wait until the other side left before coming out to operate.

But seeing the cruiser in the opposing formation suddenly dispatch a destroyer, they immediately panicked.

”Don’t be nervous; they are probably just doing a routine inspection, it’s unlikely they would easily...”

The leader of the pirates, wearing a red headband, was just speaking when he suddenly turned around, jumped into an assault boat, and quickly fled toward the west.

”Damn it, brothers, run!”

When the other pirates saw this, they were all terrified and scrambled onto the assault boats, fleeing toward the west in a rush.

Jiang Chen was about to reach the waters near the small island when he suddenly observed a dozen or so assault boats rush out and flee toward the west. He immediately shouted.

”Not good!”

”The pirates are escaping!”

[Report to Commander, the pirates are fleeing, my ship is in pursuit!]

Jiang Chen dropped the radio and began to boost the fishing boat’s propulsion system to 20% performance.

Whoosh!

The small fishing boat soared over three meters into the air. Like a sharp sword, it glided for dozens of meters before crashing heavily onto the sea surface, kicking up a huge wave.

”Boss, boss, there’s a fishing boat chasing us from behind!”

A pirate on the fastest assault boat suddenly said to the boss.

The pirate with the red headband looked back and saw that the one charging in the lead was actually a fishing boat.

As for the destroyer, it was still far behind!

”Damn it, a small fishing boat, how dare it be so arrogant?”

The red-haired pirate wanted to retaliate. But thinking about the destroyer chasing from behind, he thought, ”Forget it, forget it, I’ll spare you!” He immediately accelerated to escape.

However!

Jiang Chen had no intention of letting them go. When the distance to the target was less than five hundred meters, Jiang Chen roared at Cuihua: ”Fire! Fire! Open fire on the pirates!”

”Yes!”

Cuihua, familiar with the process, loaded the shell, adjusted her targeting, and fired a shell at the pirates ahead. Boom.

The first shell landed on the left side of the red-haired pirate, and the resulting wave almost capsized the pirate’s assault boat.

”Target missed, correcting.”

Cuihua missed with the first shot, but the intelligent combat system quickly corrected the firing position, preparing to fire the second round.

”Damn it, where did that shell come from? From the destroyer?”

The red-haired pirate’s head was buzzing, scared out of his wits.

The destroyer hadn’t even arrived yet, and they were already firing long-range missiles?

”But thankfully, this missile’s targeting is inaccurate.”

The red-haired pirate was secretly rejoicing.

Just then, the second shell flew over. He and his assault boat were blown to pieces on the spot.
