Why Would an Aircraft Carrier Be Dispatched to Escort His Fishing Boat?

73: Chapter 73 The Dragon Roar Fleet is About to DepartTwo days later.

Jiang Chen took the evaluation form given by the military instructor and handed it to Long Xiaotian.

When Long Xiaotian saw the S-grade evaluation on it, he was stunned for a moment.

It’s only been a few days, right?

”It seems, kid, your physical fitness is not bad!”

Long Xiaotian didn’t doubt the military instructor, but instead looked at Jiang Chen with surprise.

He couldn’t tell, this genius from the Longke Academy was actually a promising talent with robust physical fitness.

No wonder this kid was eyeing his commander position.

”Alright! You can operate the mortars and Gatling guns on the small fishing boat.”

”Also!”

”The Dragon Cry is about to leave the port this afternoon. I’m letting you know in advance; the next time we meet might be a year from now.”

Long Xiaotian patted Jiang Chen.

Returning to port this time was mainly for a brief rest, and incidentally, to get the pearl river 888 officially commissioned.

Once that’s done, it’ll be time to return to Somalia for patrols.

There are still many cargo ships from the Dragon Kingdom coming and going there, and pirates are active.

If they don’t leave port for a long time, those pirates will risk robbing the cargo ships.

”This afternoon? What time?”

”Around four o’clock.”

”Alright, I’ll go tell my wife; I also plan to set sail this afternoon.”

The Kuafu Chasing the Sun Propulsion System from last time has been researched quite thoroughly. Besides being installed on Tie Zhu, Cuihua, and Xuan Nu, it will also be loaded onto the fourth aircraft carrier later.

Now.

It’s almost time to go out to sea again.

But this time.

The southern waters and the South Indian Ocean have already been explored.

The next step could be heading east to the Pacific Ocean, or west to Somalia.

However.

Since the Dragon Cry plans to go to Somalia for escort duties.

Jiang Chen plans to hitch a ride and go to Somalia first.

”Good.”

After agreeing with Long Xiaotian, Jiang Chen first went to the Medical University to find Xue Yao.

However, this girl wasn’t in the dormitory, and he didn’t know where she had gone.

”After she returns, tell her that I’ve gone out to sea.”

Jiang Chen sent a message to Xue Yao, but before leaving, he also told Xue Yao’s female roommate.

”Mm, I will tell her.”

The female roommate’s face turned slightly red. It wasn’t until Jiang Chen left that she breathed a sigh of relief and immediately hid the plastic rod she had forgotten to tidy up on the table.

Jiang Chen hurried without stopping to the Longke Academy and found Xia Zhongxun.

”Dean Xia, I’m taking Cuihua out to sea for training; it will take some time.”

Xia Zhongxun stood up and nodded. Cuihua had wingspans installed by Jiang Chen a few days ago, so taking her out for training was a good idea.

However, after a pause, he reminded Jiang Chen: ”Since you are going to Somalia this time, you must be careful. There are not only pirates there but also aircraft carriers from the United States. Judging from some recent news, the United States has another aircraft carrier heading towards Somalia...”

”Three aircraft carriers?”

Jiang Chen raised an eyebrow.

Over in Somalia, there have been two aircraft carriers from the United States all year round, keeping an eye on not only the pirates but also the Dragon Cry.

He didn’t expect that the other side would actually send another aircraft carrier now.

Could it be that they want to take advantage of the time when the Dragon Cry is back in port to occupy the entire sea area!

No way!

He must take that position back.

”Don’t worry, Long Xiaotian installed firepower on my small fishing boat. If I really encounter pirates, they’ll have to think twice themselves.”

Jiang Chen reassured Xia Zhongxun, then left with Cuihua.

Xia Zhongxun watched Jiang Chen’s departing figure from behind and couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

This guy, why is he so fearless of death.

He actually even wants to PK with pirates.

...

The waters not far from Zhujiang Port.

A large cargo ship with the words ”Ocean Shipping Group” branded on it was slowly sailing over from the nearby waters.

Standing on the cargo ship was a person.

It was Yang Wei.

However, the containers on the cargo ship had already been cleared out.

Instead, there were some parasols, dining tables, barbecue grills, sofas, bathing chairs, and so on.

It looked more like a post-war Syrian industrial style than a typical cruise ship.

”Brother Yang’s cargo ship is here!”

”Awesome, this large cargo ship, love it, love it.”

”To be honest, this is the first time I’ve seen a cargo ship converted into a cruise ship; I must take a good set of photos.”

The group of people waiting at the pier immediately became excited when they saw this scene.

Soon!

The cargo ship docked at the pier.

The boarding ramp was lowered.

More than forty people lined up to board the ship one by one.

”Welcome everyone to my family’s cargo ship!”

”Everyone can have some barbecue first; after we go out to sea later, we can also fish at sea and make our own barbecue!”

Yang Wei greeted everyone with a smile.

”That’s awesome! Brother Yang 6666!”

Everyone cheered.

After everyone boarded the ship.

Yang Wei glanced around and indeed did not see Jiang Chen. He said with a look of regret: ”Jiang Chen really didn’t come.”

”If he doesn’t come, it’s his loss.”

”Exactly, that kid is just destined to be a fisherman. Missing such a good opportunity, he really has no vision.”

Several boys echoed flatteringly.

”Forget it! Let’s not talk about him. It’s too sunny standing here; let’s go to the deck; there are parasols there.”

”Everyone make yourselves at home, eat and drink.”

Yang Wei waved his hand, and immediately service staff began serving various barbecues, fruit platters, drinks, and so on.

Yang Wei sat on a wooden lounge chair, and the others gathered around him.

”Brother Yang, I heard that not far ahead is a military port. Is it true?”

A boy asked curiously.

Yang Wei glanced in the direction half a nautical mile away and nodded: ”Yes, there is a military port over there. Destroyers, cruisers, and even aircraft carriers often enter and leave the port...”

”Oh right, I heard my dad say before that the Dragon Cry seemed to have returned once a few days ago. I don’t know if it’s still in the port now.”

Yang Wei explained to everyone.

”Yes, I also watched the news. It seems that on the day it returned, the Dragon Cry even arranged an induction ceremony for a small fishing boat. I remember it was trending on Weibo.”

Another person added.

”Induction for a small fishing boat?”

”Really? Too bad I didn’t see it.”

Some were surprised, some were regretful. Some of them had been out at sea for years and hadn’t paid much attention to Weibo for a long time.

Only some star-chasing girls and people looking for excitement would often go to Weibo to pay attention to the daily hot searches.

”What small fishing boat? It’s all netizens guessing blindly. I guess it might be a new type of amphibious landing ship.”

Yang Wei waved his hand, looking like he knew everything.

Hearing this, everyone suddenly understood and praised him one after another.

”Brother Yang still knows more! I was just saying, how could a small fishing boat join an aircraft carrier fleet? So it was an amphibious landing ship.”

”Come, everyone, let’s toast Brother Yang.”

A group of people toasted together.

”That’s enough, Old Su, get ready to set sail! I’m taking everyone out to sea to fish.”

Yang Wei picked up the walkie-talkie and gave orders to the cargo ship captain.

The cargo ship captain received the order, immediately started the cargo ship, and began to leave the port heading south.

And at the very moment they started!

The Pearl River Military Port half a nautical mile away also suddenly sounded the wailing horn of an aircraft carrier about to leave port.

[Attention Zhujiang Port, this is the Pearl River Military Port command center. The Dragon Cry fleet will leave port in ten minutes. The route has been sent. Please remind all ships entering and leaving the port to pay attention and avoid it!]
