Why Would an Aircraft Carrier Be Dispatched to Escort His Fishing Boat?

59: Chapter 59 The Mech Bet, A Brand New Design”Who else?”

”Who else?!”

”In the vast Longke Academy with thousands of people, who else can outdo me, Professor Gao Xiaohua, in the field of engines?!”

Inside the five-hundred-square-meter grand conference room!

Professor Gao Xiaohua stood on the high platform, looking around the audience with an arrogant air, and roared loudly.

The people below had somewhat ugly expressions.

Everyone present was a pure scientific researcher.

They only wanted to do their own scientific research work well and had no desire to compete with anyone.

After all.

A large-scale project could not be completed by just one person.

It required the strength of the collective!

Although this Professor Gao Xiaohua had impressive achievements in the field of engines, he was too arrogant and condescending, so they naturally disliked him.

Just as the two sides were at a stalemate.

Jiang Chen appeared at the doorway, carrying a bag, and said, ”There’s me!”

Everyone turned their gazes over.

”Jiang Chen, when did you get back?”

Xia Zhongxun stepped forward first, looking surprised.

Previously!

Jiang Chen had said he was taking Celestial Soldier Tie Zhu to the sea for training, and he had been gone for over a week. If not for Minister Zhou Anbang of the Longan Department saying he had sent people to escort and protect him the whole way, he would have almost thought the kid had been eaten by a great white shark.

”I’ve been back for over a day. Let’s talk later!”

Jiang Chen walked in.

Professor Gao Xiaohua cast his gaze over and was stunned to see Jiang Chen was so young.

He had heard that the person in charge of the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals project was very young and promising, but he felt some disdain at the time. He had stayed at Stanford to teach at thirty-three; could anyone be more promising than him?

Until he saw the other person just now.

His heart was also shocked.

Damn it!

Is this guy even thirty?

After the shock, Professor Gao Xiaohua immediately snorted.

”So it’s just a young punk. Tell me, whose son are you? If you feel aggrieved about being demoted, you can have that big shot move you to another position to retire; don’t stand here and obstruct others.”

Facing Professor Gao Xiaohua’s sarcasm, Jiang Chen looked him up and down.

”Weren’t you asking who else in Longke Academy could be better than you in the field of engines?”

”I accept this challenge.”

”You can bring out that whatever G8-cycle engine of yours, and we’ll have a competition then.”

Professor Gao Xiaohua laughed immediately upon hearing this.

”That’s called a twenty-cycle afterburning turbofan engine. You couldn’t even get the full name right, yet you dare to challenge me!”

”Let me tell you, as long as the military factory is willing to cooperate, I can produce a first-generation version within a week!”

Jiang Chen was calm and composed: ”A week, right? Fine. I can also produce an engine in a week. When the time comes, both sides will install our engines on the same batch of mechas. We’ll have them compete, and it will be clear which is stronger and which is weaker.”

”Fine! If you lose, remember to give up your position.”

Professor Gao Xiaohua vowed confidently.

Jiang Chen also set the bet: ”But if you lose, remember to get back to your United States.”

”Fine!”

Professor Gao Xiaohua snorted and left confidently.

Dean Xia watched this scene with a worried expression.

As a top expert from the United States who had participated in the nineteen-cycle engine, Professor Gao Xiaohua had the design concept for a twenty-cycle one in his hands!

Within a week, it was really possible to produce a first-generation version.

And at Longke Academy, the current strongest engine for the Xuan Nu Fighter Jet was only eighteen-cycle. How could they compete?

”Jiang Chen, in just one week, where can we get a more advanced engine?”

Dean Xia couldn’t help but ask Jiang Chen.

The others also looked at him with furrowed brows.

Jiang Chen’s performance at Longke Academy was obvious to all.

But!

The difficulty of producing an engine more advanced than Professor Gao Xiaohua’s in such a short time was truly Mount Everest level.

”I recently went to the sea to train Celestial Soldier Tie Zhu.”

”I kept thinking, and I just happened to come up with a good idea.”

”It’s probably better than Professor Gao Xiaohua’s.”

Jiang Chen said calmly.

The Kuafu Chasing the Sun Propulsion System could already allow fighter jets to break 10 Mach.

That twenty-cycle engine at most reached between two and three Mach.

The two were not even in the same league.

”A good idea?”

Dean Xia smiled bitterly!

An engine couldn’t be supported by just an idea.

But just then!

Jiang Chen raised his hand and placed the blueprints from the bag onto the lecture table with a boom.

Dean Xia’s expression tightened. He weighed the thick stack of blueprints and was dumbfounded: ”Your idea... is this big?”

Saying this!

He hurriedly flipped through them.

As he flipped, he became more and more shocked.

Although he mainly worked on chips in the field of physics, he also understood a lot about the engine field.

He hurriedly called over some top experts in the engine field: ”Old Wang, Old Xu, Old Zhao, come over and take a look!”

Several white-haired old men quickly stepped forward.

Each of them picked up a portion of the blueprints and started reading them on the spot.

Swish, swish, swish!

In the grand conference room, the scene with over a hundred people was now so quiet that only the sound of Dean Xia and the three top experts flipping through papers remained.

”Genius! This is absolutely genius!”

”This brand new design is too ingenious!”

”Wait, what does this part mean? Why can’t I quite understand it?”

The few exclaimed repeatedly, but as they looked further, they began to encounter parts they couldn’t understand.

They hurriedly looked at Jiang Chen.

”This is why I came to find Dean Xia in such a hurry today.”

”Since there are so many colleagues in the engine field in the conference room today, I will take this opportunity to explain the idea I suddenly came up with to everyone.”

Jiang Chen said, addressing Shu Yin, who was peeking in from the doorway.

”Someone!”

”Get the projector!”

Everyone looked at Shu Yin in unison.

”Uh.”

Shu Yin scratched her head.

Although she was a top student who graduated from the Dragon God Academy, facing so many big shots at the scene, she had no choice but to do the odd jobs.

Very quickly!

The projector lit up.

Jiang Chen projected the electronic version onto the screen.

And began to explain it to everyone.

”This is a complete set of design blueprints for a propulsion system.”

”It’s called the Kuafu Chasing the Sun Propulsion System.”

”It not only includes the Hou Yi Shooting the Sun Engine but also the Seven Fairies automatic transmission... and a series of supporting designs!”

”This design concept is different from the mainstream afterburning turbofan engine.”

”Everyone, listen to me, I will explain it slowly!”

With Jiang Chen’s opening remarks and the dense handwriting and structural diagrams flashing across the screen.

The top experts in the entire conference room were taking notes quickly while thinking hard.

”Can the Seven Fairies be fully automatic?”

Shu Yin sat on the side with a confused expression.

She worked in the field of materials and didn’t understand engines very well.

However!

After hearing the name Jiang Chen said, her eyes suddenly lit up.

It seems this engine will be very powerful!

He explained for a whole morning.

Jiang Chen had barely finished two-thirds.

The people below had gone from initial confusion to discussing it animatedly, with amazed expressions.

Seeing that it was almost lunchtime, everyone was still shouting.

”General Manager Jiang, keep going!”

Dean Xia had no choice but to arrange for the Longke Academy logistics team to move lunch into the conference room.

Everyone ate while discussing with each other.

After eating, Jiang Chen immediately started explaining the remaining third without stopping.

This part.

Was the most difficult!

It was also the part that even Dean Xia only half-understood.

Two hours later.

Jiang Chen was parched from talking, and there was no sound at all at the scene.

Jiang Chen drank some water to quench his thirst and asked everyone: ”I’m done. I can see that everyone has digested it pretty well!”

”???”

The people below cast confused expressions.

Jiang Chen noticed everyone’s expressions, was stunned, and then looked at Dean Xia: ”Dean Xia, you should have digested it pretty well, right?”

”...”

Digested?

Dean Xia cursed internally; with such a violent infusion of information, who could digest it?

Sorry, I’m old, and I have indigestion...

However!

Seeing everyone looking at him, Dean Xia coughed dryly and pretended to be calm: ”Hmm, it’s okay.”

”That’s great! You come and explain it to them tomorrow. I’m going to the military factory tomorrow to talk to them about manufacturing.”

Jiang Chen clapped his hands.

As expected of a Dean, he really is amazing; he understood it after just a little listening.

After saying this.

Jiang Chen turned and left.

”...”

The smile on Dean Xia’s face froze.

Just at this moment!

Shu Yin, who was below, asked again: ”Dean Xia, did you really understand it?”

Dean Xia was embarrassed and glared at her: ”What are you, someone in the materials field, doing running here? Your perfect attendance for this month is gone!”

After saying this!

Dean Xia hurriedly slipped away, sighing in his heart that the younger generation nowadays was more ferocious than the last. It seemed he would have to work overtime to digest it tonight.

Behind him!

Shu Yin, who had her perfect attendance deducted, muttered with a grievance-filled face: ”I’m General Manager Jiang’s little assistant, and I was the one who turned on that projector...”
