700: Chapter 113: New Developments and the Vitreous Container 700: Chapter 113: New Developments and the Vitreous Container Hidden within the mountain is a magnificent palace, where a powerful monster resides, known as Shuten.

The name Shuten Doji strikes terror in the hearts of the townsfolk nearby, not only because of Shuten Doji’s immense power but also because of Shuten Doji’s cruelty.

Legend has it that this Shuten Doji delights in devouring the flesh and blood of the living, especially that of young, pure women.

The surrounding area is filled with dread, yet numerous skilled Samurai, clergy, and even mysterious Onmyoji have come to challenge, only to never return, becoming food for Shuten Doji and its underlings.

The entire vicinity, for a hundred miles, is shrouded under the shadow of this powerful monster… yet seemingly only to that extent.

For the powerful monster Shuten Doji, feared by both the townsfolk and Samurai alike, now reveals a pained expression—Shuten Doji enjoys transforming into an extraordinarily handsome man to seduce young girls, but now, this devilishly beautiful face is almost twisted.

Shuten Doji painfully grasps its own neck, while its body is raised aloft by something.

A human Samurai’s hand!

Beyond the pain, Shuten Doji’s eyes are filled with disbelief.

It cannot believe a human Samurai possesses such great power.

But when it accidentally sees the shadow of this human Samurai stretched long by candlelight, cast upon the wall, it finally comprehends.

On the wall, a huge shadow is wantonly writhing… a monster with eight enormous heads! “Orochi…” Shuten Doji had no chance to remember to utter this name, which is a taboo even monsters fear in Yan Wuyue World.

At this moment, abundant blood splatters onto the wall, signifying the end of Shuten Doji’s life of evil.

The monster with eight heads’ shadow on the wall thrashes about madly…

Once everything returned to calm, the human Samurai casually sat on the ground, licked his lips, a purple flash briefly passing through his pupils, “This Shuten Doji isn’t bad, at least it allowed me to regain some strength.

Now that I think about it, the user of Zhan Lu Sword… doesn’t seem to care.”

The Samurai…

Yamata no Orochi furrowed its brows, carefully reflecting on the battle process.

Initially, it had just broken free from its seal, its power at its lowest ebb, not even fully conscious, only sensing the Royal Path Sword’s power of Zhan Lu, recalling a great calamity brought upon Xiang Liu’s family in Divine Land, prompting it to flee in haste.

But now fully conscious, it found the power of Zhan Lu Sword though decent, far from terrifying enough as when it almost forced Xiang Liu’s family to desperation…

Yamata no Orochi wasn’t sure why Zhan Lu Sword had changed hands, furthermore how it came to this remote Fragmented World utterly unrelated to Divine Land.

However… it is likely connected to the hidden dangers lurking in this Fragmented World—because it once held authority akin to Yan Wuyue World.

Back then, by coincidence, it entered this Fragmented World, snatching half of Yan Wuyue World’s power from Izanagi and Izanami of the Heavenly Rock Pillar, becoming a huge disaster capable of destroying the entire Yan Wuyue World, even once known as the Serpent of Destruction.

Even so, it couldn’t overcome Izanagi and Izanami of Yatsumi Palace, and battling like that would ultimately obliterate this Fragmented World capable of evolving into a world… thus achieving a mutual non-aggression understanding when both sides reaped no benefits.

Yet now, Yamata no Orochi had to admit, it had been too arrogant before, seeing nothing in its eyes… otherwise, it wouldn’t have allowed Susanoo-no-Mikoto, one of the Three Nobles, to seal it in the Ten Fists Sword! “Damn it, even if Susanoo-no-Mikoto had the Ten Fists Sword, he’d be easily crushed!

If not for Izanagi and Izanami secretly using the world’s almighty power to restrain me, how could they have prevailed!”

Each time recalling the moment of being sealed, Yamata no Orochi harbored unspeakable regret!

Isn’t it indeed?

Once a supreme ruler with half the world’s authority in Yan Wuyue World, living in ease, yet due to overindulgence ended up sealed for countless years, even its authority snatched away. “Yet, with this resurgence, the world’s authority has been divided once more…”

As a supreme ruler once possessing half of this world’s authority, even if deprived of authority, its sensitivity to such power remains exceptionally acute—even, due to once thoroughly refining half of the authority, even when later taken, there’s still an invisible link… “Seems Yan Wuyue still faces invaders like I did…” Yamata no Orochi sat in what was originally Shuten Doji’s palace, with a low chuckle, “It’d be best if you two fight to the death, then I can reap the benefits as a fisherman…”

But first, it needs to quickly recover more power. “The entrance to the Land of Night is nearby…” Yamata no Orochi pondered for a while, “Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, as one of the Three Nobles, was allotted a portion of authority.

This authority very clearly was split from the part that was once taken from me…”

At this moment, the entrance to the Land of Night, its aura surged and expanded frantically, and such commotion naturally could not escape Yamata no Orochi’s perception.

It narrowed its eyes, “Looks like my opportunity has come again…

Divine Land, I will return once more!

Once I grasp this world’s fragment, evolve an entire Heaven and Earth belonging solely to me, what is there to fear!”

It is said that only with a Heaven and Earth belonging to oneself can one transcend some enormous prison… … …

Calling a mad woman ‘mother’ right off the bat… such a thing is really something Mo Xiaofei admits he couldn’t do, or rather, hasn’t even considered doing.

How could your daughter possibly be a man?

As a proper man, Mo Xiaofei, who never dressed as a lovely joystick enthusiast, had never considered such an option in his subconscious… however, this time there didn’t seem to be any vertiginous feeling.

Watching Narukami Haru, seemingly lost in some kind of memory under Zi Xing’s call, Mo Xiaofei’s heartbeat quickened unconsciously.

Reincarnation, this one day like a year… at last there’s some progress! “Tsuruko… my daughter…” Narukami Haru suddenly lifted her head, gripping the bars fiercely, as if her entire face wanted to squeeze through the gaps!

So forcefully.

Despite having seen this terrifying, hideous face of Narukami Haru many times, Mo Xiaofei still felt a heart-palpitating sensation…

For the first time, Narukami Haru had such a reaction! “You’re not my daughter… you’re a monster!

You’re a monster!!

Go away… monster!!

Go away!!

Don’t come near me!!

Don’t come near me!!”

Narukami Haru suddenly displayed a terrified expression, shivering while crouching on the ground, holding her head in her hands, “Go away… go away…”

Zi Xing instinctively glanced up at Mo Xiaofei, only to see him shake his head in confusion, then furrowed her brows slightly, continuing to watch Narukami Haru, softly calling out: “Mother, how can I be a monster?

I am your daughter, Tsuruko…

Nagato Tsuruko.

Mother, do you not recognize me?” “Nagato… monster…

Nagato…” Narukami Haru’s reaction grew even more intense, ultimately letting out a sudden scream, “I beg you!

I beg you, don’t make me give birth to this monster, please…

I’ll do anything… please… please… ah!!”

After letting out a twisted scream, Narukami Haru plunged headfirst towards the wall manically!

Separated by the bars, Mo Xiaofei and Zi Xing, who still lacked the power, obviously couldn’t stop all this—however, Narukami Haru’s body was suddenly pulled tight by something, dangerously avoiding actually crashing headfirst into the wall.

Turns out, her ankle was bound by chains, hidden under the kimono, Mo Xiaofei had never noticed this despite several encounters…

Narukami Haru extended her hands frantically, trying to claw onto the stone wall.

Her fingers bled onto the wall in shocking streaks of blood, seemingly feeling no pain! “Ah…”

Another scream echoed, and Narukami Haru suddenly collapsed to the ground, motionless, but her chest still gently heaved, indicating she had merely fainted from overstimulation. “This… this, I’ve never encountered such a situation,” Mo Xiaofei took a deep breath, “It’s the first time I’ve heard her say so much and even wanted to commit suicide.”

Zi Xing nodded and then stood up, “In any case, at least Narukami Haru has spoken…

Lord Mo, it seems this idea is correct.

Our contact with her goes on without anything happening, which means the cycle might have already been broken.”

Mo Xiaofei quietly clenched his fist, although Zi Xing spoke lightly of it—she hadn’t experienced the endless repetition of a single day, devoid of any friends, that pain.

But regardless, having such progress, Mo Xiaofei indeed felt an overwhelming joy descending from heaven. “Maybe what you say is true.” He suddenly became exuberant, “In that case, we might find a clue or even solve the mystery of Zaodao Village!

And since Narukami Haru is unconscious, let’s leave here for now, the banquet is likely ending, Lord Nagato will surely return here, and if there’s no reset, he will find out the guards were knocked out, then perhaps…

Zi Xing, are you okay?”

However, he saw Zi Xing wasn’t looking at him but rather staring silently behind him.

Mo Xiaofei instinctively turned around.

He saw at the end of the passage, at the corner they had come from, something quickly flashed by!

In the silence, it passed by in a flash.

Too fast… like a ghost.

Mo Xiaofei blinked, trying to see what it was, but his sight was already empty…

Thud!

In that instant, Zi Xing suddenly collapsed right beside him!

Mo Xiaofei opened his mouth, and when he looked back, a face more terrifying than Narukami Haru’s was right in front of him!

Too close, almost stuck to his nose… completely black eyes, without any trace of whites.

Were they smiling…

A dizzying sensation surged——Mo Xiaofei was all too familiar with this feeling: a reset! “No!!”

He roared, the pressure that had built over a year, nearly breaking his sanity, overwhelming his nerves, driving him instinctively, reaching out with unwillingness to grasp that terrifying face! “No…”

Finally collapsed to the ground.

Hope and despair, alternating in that instant… as if falling from heaven to the depths of hell.

When he awoke again, a comforting warmth surrounded him, sunlight gently wrapped around Mo Xiaofei.

Ahead in his sight, a girl carrying a basket walked down the path with her head hung low, burdened with thoughts.

Mo Xiaofei grabbed his hair, collapsing powerlessly onto the road, then pounded the ground hard with his fist.

Punch after punch, as if never tiring… even when his knuckles burst into bloody sprays.

It was the only way he could alleviate the powerlessness brought by the time reset. “You… what’s wrong with you?”

The girl approached him, looking on with surprise and uncertainty.

Mo Xiaofei slowly lifted his head, his eyes scattered, suddenly roared, “Get lost!!!!!!”

The girl jumped back two steps in fright, even stumbled and fell.

But she quickly got up, fleeing in terror.

Watching the girl leave… watching the bamboo pole just walk away, Mo Xiaofei finally took a deep breath, murmuring, “Sorry…

I didn’t mean to.”

Much later, Mo Xiaofei dejectedly stood up, gazing at a spot on the hillside, finding a carriage slowly approaching under the crowd of several Ashigaru.

It’s…

Zi Xing! “She too…” Mo Xiaofei gritted his teeth, “I cannot give up!”

Seeing Zi Xing reappear, Mo Xiaofei’s faith reignited once more! … …

Under the Sakura Tree.

As he watched Miki, the kimono girl shrouded in a gray-black mist, Arex’s mouth curved into a faint smile, “Such good quality… the alternating hope and despair, belief that reignites immediately after every shattering, such strong will is rare.

A real rarity, if possible, I’d love to make him my stable food supply…”

Finally, wisps of mist gradually faded from Miki’s body.

Miki slowly opened her eyes.

Arex smiled, “How do you feel?” “I’m better.” Miki softly replied.

Arex nodded, waving his hand again, and more gray mist surged from all directions, “Then take in some more, my Miki.”

Miki closed her eyes again, allowing the gray mist to penetrate her… but it clearly wasn’t enjoyment, rather bearing great pain. “Master Arex, I can still take more… give me more… more…”

Truly… a perfect container.

Arex’s sinister smile appeared once more… but when he caught sight of the scar on Miki’s throat, the smile quickly faded.

This was the scar left by that blow from the club’s maid.

It seemed like a warning, even though Miki’s wounds had been completely healed, this scar remained… utterly impossible to erase!
