665: Chapter 78: Pseudo-Spirit and True Soul 665: Chapter 78: Pseudo-Spirit and True Soul To Mo Xiaofei, Long Xiruo’s words felt like a fantastical tale in the wilderness…

However, even an ordinary person like himself had a day when he gained superpowers, so he subconsciously believed the words of this small teacher. “Because I’m a ‘True Soul’?” Mo Xiaofei was taken aback.

Looking at this little teacher again, his expression became much more solemn.

Long Xiruo said, “Didn’t I just say that when the netherworld was still open, in order to manage the increasing population, the soul and spirit were split apart and injected into newborns?

Through the nourishment of the body, these split souls and spirits would grow again.”

Mo Xiaofei nodded.

Long Xiruo continued, “That’s why humans are born ignorant and need a long life of learning to reshape their thoughts and values.

In the process of life, aging, and death, the soul and spirit become fully nourished.

Generally, the soul grows faster than the spirit, and those whose innate soul reincarnates tend to be more talented than those whose spirit does.

This is why some people are born smarter or have certain talents.

But when the soul and spirit of each individual grow into a complete ‘soul and spirit,’ theoretically, they are about the same.

This explains why some people with less innate talent can catch up with hard work…

Of course, there are many variables in this, simply put, it’s about what is called fate.”

At this point, Long Xiruo paused, then added, “Additionally, there are some very exceptional souls that can reincarnate through the Six Paths without being split apart.

Usually, these types of beings carry great merit or have the potential to be leaders of their time…

A small part involves the shifts of luck, changes of dynasties, and so on.

But these are matters involving certain idle individuals who like to play chess, treating the world as their chessboard…

For you now, it’s something you wouldn’t understand even if I explained.”

Teacher…

I already don’t understand! “About my ‘True Soul’…” Mo Xiaofei was only concerned with this point for now—the subconscious part of his mind always felt that if he didn’t figure this out, he would remain uneasy. “Don’t interrupt!” Long Xiruo gave Mo Xiaofei a stern look, “I just mentioned this part…

A so-called True Soul is a being reincarnated through the Six Paths of the netherworld, whether human, beast with intelligence, or monsters like us.

But a hundred years ago, the netherworld closed, and no more souls and spirits were sent out from China.

So where do the souls and spirits of newly born beings come from?

I mentioned before that the body of a being can nourish a soul and spirit, right?

So even without souls and spirits from the netherworld, beings, especially humans as the spirits of all things, have the ability to generate their own souls.

These self-generated souls are typically called ‘Pseudo-Soul and Spirit’ or ‘Pseudo-Spirit’ by the netherworld.

However, the ‘Pseudo-Spirit’s soul and spirit can’t be split, and after leaving the body upon death, they can’t last long, failing horribly at reincarnation.

Imagine if the world was full of ‘Pseudo-Spirit’ dummies, what would it become?”

Mo Xiaofei vaguely said, “But teacher…

Aren’t these all living people?

What’s the difference between real and fake…?” “Of course, there’s a difference!” Long Xiruo stood up from the sofa, hands on her hips with a fierce expression, “How could there not be a difference!

Didn’t I just say, those who are True Souls, whether naturally talented or achieving success through hard work, can ultimately excel.

But these inferior things have difficulty reincarnating, and though large numbers might increase the success rate, remade with these ‘Pseudo-Spirits,’ to be frank, they are inherently foolish, susceptible to all sorts of temptations, let alone maintaining their true self…

If all beings in the world were degenerating, not striving, just getting by, living to die, in such an atmosphere, can modern society still hope to develop over time?”

Mo Xiaofei tried to picture it…

Exhausting his imagination, he couldn’t conjure up such a scene…

But listening to Long Xiruo’s words, he felt a chill down his spine, realizing something terrifying. “Teacher!

You said that the netherworld hasn’t been open for a hundred years…” Mo Xiaofei exclaimed in fear, “In the blink of an eye, people live for just a few decades…

Doesn’t that mean everyone now is a fake, fake person?” “Not quite yet.” Long Xiruo shook her head, “When the netherworld closed, beings with True Souls that had reincarnated died, meaning their souls and spirits weren’t taken away for further reincarnation management.

These True Souls roam Heaven and Earth, some attracted to newborn bodies settle in them.

But because they didn’t pass through the netherworld’s reincarnation, such self-reincarnation consumes the True Soul’s essence.

Meanwhile, others may resist entering new bodies and gradually diminish by Heaven and Earth.

Even if they chose to reincarnate themselves, the True Soul can’t split on its own…

So technically, manifested beings with True Souls are dwindling, while fake people are on the rise.”

Is this the root cause of more fools appearing nowadays? “Your point is…

I might be one of those True Souls from the last batch reincarnated a hundred years ago?” Mo Xiaofei finally understood. “Yes, or no.” Long Xiruo shook her head, “In this regard, I’m unable to make a determination.

Because among many ‘Pseudo-Spirits,’ there’s an extremely rare chance to mutate into a ‘True Soul’…

If converted from ‘Pseudo-Spirit’ to ‘True Soul’…

Hmm, the netherworld refers to these exceptional cases as ‘Innate True Souls.ʼ” “You don’t even know, Teacher?” Mo Xiaofei asked in surprise.

Long Xiruo rolled her eyes, “Do you think I’m omniscient?

To find out, just ask that unscrupulous merchant!

He definitely knows!

Or rather, has the ability to know!

Apart from the netherworld identifying through the Book of Life and Death, only the owner of that store, that unscrupulous merchant, can tell!”

Teacher, you’ve already called him unscrupulous twice… “But… if even you can’t tell, why did you say I’m a ‘True Soul’?” Mo Xiaofei recalled Long Xiruo’s initial remark.

Long Xiruo poked Mo Xiaofei’s forehead with frustration, “Idiot!

Didn’t you think, if you weren’t a ‘True Soul,’ why would that black-hearted boss have any expectations for you?!

Did you forget?

Your soul was long traded out, so when you die, your soul won’t be yours anymore!

Listen!

For all things, death isn’t the end, but for a True Soul, life after death is the normalcy!

A person’s life is at most a long vacation for True Souls!

Don’t think that dying means losing thoughts, and have this idea of ‘After I’m dead, I don’t care about the floods’ in your head!

Because when you recall your many reincarnated lives, you’ll regret it immensely!

So look now, do you dare recklessly move forward and die in vain!”

Yet at this moment, Mo Xiaofei shook his head suddenly, bowed to Long Xiruo, and solemnly said, “Teacher, thank you for telling me all this.

But… if it makes me live cautiously and betray my beliefs, what’s the point of my training efforts?

Even if my soul is taken after I die, I won’t go back on my promise…

I will proceed with reverence in my heart!

Fool, this very quality is why that black-hearted guy fancies you…

Long Xiruo sighed, but her gaze softened.

How could she not cherish such a pure-hearted human? … …

Will Liu Zixing not come to gamble with me again… at least not until today’s lucky streak ends?

After strolling down the street for a while, Boss Luo returned to the club.

The maid Ms.

Ren had gone up to the second floor for a while, then came down again with a tray.

On it, dim light orbs floated gently, exuding a sense of lifelessness. “Master, these are this week’s ‘Main God’s’ harvest,” Ms.

Ren smiled slightly, “Forty-seven in total.”

Luo Qiu merely glanced at them and nodded, “They are all Pseudo-Spirits… just throw them to the altar.”

With that, Boss Luo waved his hand, and those dim, lightless orbs disappeared. ￥￥￥￥￥￥￥

PS1: This is part of the setting, which needs to be written out.

Also, this is this book’s setting, so get used to it…

I don’t know what the Six Paths setting in other books is, similarities or oddities don’t matter… gazing at the sky.
