Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 996: Bait

Selena, Albert, and the people from the Liaystian Kingdom had reached the closest city to the academy.

Rood pointed his finger in a certain direction. ”They’re in this direction. We should have no problem reaching the academy in two hours.”

”In that case, let’s head out right away. We’ll discuss the rest on the way. Looking at this situation, I’m afraid that they’re going to kidnap even more people. I don’t know how much they know about the medicine, so we have to be extra careful.”

Rood nodded in agreement.

”I am not a summoner, so I will remain here.” Albert nodded helplessly.

”I will remain here to protect the minister. The rest of the special force should follow you, Miss Selena. We’ll follow your arrangement.” The vice leader of the special force stepped forward.

Although the special force was weak, they were still a group of ten, with both the leader and vice leader having the strength of a grandmaster. They should be able to help a lot.

Selena nodded her head. ”Got it.”

Now that they had reached an agreement, they rushed toward the academy at their fastest speed.

Selena said, ”Mr. Rood. I don’t think it will be good to confront them head-on.”

”I know that. They have Lucas, so they can escape right away.”

”For the space ability, we have a way to deal with it, but I’m not too sure whether it’s possible to do it right away or not.”

”You have a way?” Rood didn’t expect it. A space element user was rare, and someone at Lucas’ level was even rarer. So, he never thought Selena had a method to handle him. ”I have reported this matter to the commander of the Summoner Division as well.

”Considering our opponent this time, he might make his move personally.”

”That might not be necessary, but we’ll receive all the support we can get.” Selena nodded in understanding.

”All right. Let’s have it that way. We’ll enter the city and remain in the shadows for the time being. Other than a few people, it’s better not to openly show ourselves.”

Selena furrowed her eyebrows and said, ”We need someone to head inside the academy as well.”

”Ah. You want to utilize your medicine?”

”Yes. If they’re waiting for the right time, they won’t turn them into an alien right away. Hence, if we know about their situation and help those people, we can somehow save them before it’s too late.”

”Fair enough.” Rood thought for a moment. ”How about you go to the academy personally? I will lend you my badge. After seeing my badge, there’s no way the principal won’t cooperate with you.”

”That sounds reasonable.” Selena wanted to agree, but it looked like Lavinster had a different idea.

”How can you let an outsider handle this matter? Are you insane?” Lavinster gritted his teeth.

”...” Selena sighed inwardly, thinking, ’As expected, Nathan has always said that dealing with this kind of person is easy, but it’s so infuriating. Then again, sending him to the academy... this might be a perfect role for him. With his character, he will end up turning himself into bait.’

”Enough! You’ve been annoying me the whole time! This matter will be reported to the commander!” Rood gnashed his teeth.

Selena waved her hand and said, ”We’ve come here to deal with the Divine Hand, not to cause chaos within the Liaystian Kingdom. If he wants to handle the Axia Academy, then so be it.

”In the end, I’m from the Azilia Kingdom while we’re in the Liaystian Kingdom.”

”This...” Rood hesitated.

”You finally know your place, woman!” Lavinster harrumphed.

Rood wanted to apologize, but Selena waved her hand and said, ”It doesn’t matter. I will give the medicine once we arrive.”

Rood nodded helplessly. At this rate, there might be friction between them and Nathan. He just hoped that Nathan and his women were more tolerant about this matter.

At the same time, he could see why Selena didn’t mind Lavinster taking her duty. If they wanted to tail the people from the Divine Hand, they needed secrecy. It would be best to get rid of Lavinster from the team first.

Lavinster didn’t even realize he had been playing into Selena’s hand the whole time. Compared to him, Selena was simply more monstrous than him.

Even to this point, Lavinster was still drunk on his talent, thinking that he was superior to Selena in combat. Rood precisely knew what Selena could do as soon as he saw the level of her control.

As they originally expected, they reached the city in just two hours. They moved quickly and slipped into the city without anyone noticing. Of course, Rood sped up earlier so that he could handle the matter of them entering the city.

Once they entered the city, Selena reached for items inside her coat, secretly activated the space bracelet, and tossed two bottles to Lavinster.

”These two bottles should contain over 200 pills each. One pill is enough for one person. Within a few minutes, the alien will be destroyed from within their body and it will be expelled naturally.”

”Hmph.” Lavinster snorted.

All the people from the special forces looked annoyed. Their country had been helping them this whole time, but there wasn’t even a single thanks from this guy.

Rood waved his hand. ”Thank you for your help.”

”It doesn’t matter. Instead, you should be careful. If they know there’s someone like you in this city, it will be troublesome.”

”I’m aware of this. No need to worry.”

”In that case, let’s split up. Since we can’t afford to alarm them, we should assume they’re kidnapping people right now. If we go around the city, we might find any clues regarding the kidnapping.”

”In two hours, we will make our move.”

”Got it.”

Selena turned to the people from the special force. ”Disguise yourself and mingle with the people. There’s a chance for us to miss a few of them, so take care of the aliens at that time.”

”Understood.”

Once she was left alone, Selena’s expression turned grim. ”Now... I’m sure Nathan is inside the city. I guess we should expect the situation to turn in an unexpected way...”
