Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 976: Engagement Talk

”I understand. Iʼll make such a ship for you.” Rena smiled as she shook Vivianʼs hand.

Nathan was just staring dumbfoundedly. As Vivian said previously, it didnʼt take more than two minutes for them to come to an agreement.

Nathan couldnʼt help but smile wryly, recalling the past few minutes.

”Oh, my. To think that the famous Forest Queen will be coming to my humble house.” Rena smiled.

Vivian smiled back. ”Iʼm honored that the famous admiral, Duchess Rena Ivorial, is willing to meet a lowly self such as myself.”

”…” Nathan just observed them. Unlike when they were meeting him, these two were trying to make themselves as humble as possible, even if it sounded sarcastic.

He couldnʼt help but wonder if there was a history between the two.

His question was answered right away.

”So, what would a busy person such as yourself come to this humble place for?” Rena asked. ”I canʼt afford to waste your esteemed selfʼs time.”

Vivianʼs eyebrows twitched. Fortunately, she kept her calm while saying, ”As expected of the duchess who doesnʼt love pleasantries, you indeed, as the rumor says, always go straight to the point.

”In that case, I will follow your lead and tell you about my purposes. I come here for one thing. I want you to make me a boat.”

It was Renaʼs turn to have her eyebrows twitched. Even Vivian knew how absurd the request was. A ship couldnʼt be completed so easily. It also required a lot of resources and manpower.

Renaʼs expression darkened. ”Do you understand what youʼre asking?”

”Of course.”

”What can you offer, then?” Rena squinted her eyes. She thought if it was not worth considering, she would reject it in an instant, even if Vivian was Nathanʼs teacher.

However, Vivian had prepared something she couldnʼt reject.

”Klean Wood.”

”!!!” Renaʼs eyes widened in shock. ”You…”

”You should know what Klean wood means. This is the sturdiest tree you can find to build a ship. Iʼm offering three shipsʼ worth of wood and I will also provide the wood supply for this ship.

”However, the rest of the cost, such as labor cost and decoration, will be yours.”

Rena didnʼt think Vivian would go all out like this. In the past, she had requested this kind of wood from her, but she never got it. Yet Vivian would actually offer it to her. Even if it was only one shipʼs worth, she would accept it.

However, Vivian offered three times as much. This meant there would be three flagships under her command.

”You do know the worth of that wood, right?”

”Of course. Whatʼs this? Are you trying to stop me? Arenʼt you the one who wants it?” Vivian smirked.

”…” Rena looked calm, but inside, she was panicking. She wondered if Vivian had a hidden plan or not.

So as to avoid pointless arguments, Vivian added, ”How about this? This is the bride price given to your niece, Flora. In exchange, the dowry will be the ship made of this wood.

”By having you create another flagship for the royal family, it should look fair to all of us. Since the engagement between Nathan and Selena is becoming official, itʼs only right to send both the bride price and dowry.”

For Vivian, it would be three birds with one stone. She would be able to get the ship, give the bride price to both the Ivorial family and the Royal family, and settle the engagement.

Although Nathanʼs parents should be the ones handling the engagement, the opposite party was simply too big. It was Nathan who was supposed to take care of it personally. At the very least, Vivian was qualified to be his guardian for this matter.

Rena closed her eyes for a moment before saying, ”I understand. Iʼll make a ship for you.”

Vivian simply smiled, knowing this was the result that was bound to happen.

Nathan was quite surprised. He was wondering what he should give for his engagement with Flora.

For Selena, he gave his own blood, which would ensure the familyʼs prosperity. There was also Sera, but with the matter of Flora settled, he thought about using the Space Bracelet as the gift. This way, no one really got the same thing.

Of course, he had to prepare things for Alavenya and Noelle, but since they hadnʼt been in a formal relationship yet, it could wait.

”When do you need this ship?” Rena asked.

”If possible, in 4 months.”

”4 months, huh?” Rena looked up, pondering. To create a ship that fast, they needed a lot of people to contribute. Although it would be hard, it should be possible. Ultimately, she nodded. ”Sure. But I must have confirmed that this is what you want, Nathan.”

In the end, Nathan was the one engaged to Flora. If he didnʼt want this engagement and the dowry to proceed this way, he should tell her.

However, Nathan nodded his head. ”Yes. I have discussed it with Flora as well.”

”Alright. Once thereʼs a ring, tell Flora to return. Her mother would definitely love to see her. Regarding the marriage, it can be postponed a bit later due to the current world situation.

”However, you donʼt have to take care of the preparation for the marriage. We can be the ones taking care of it, such as the venue and dress.”

”Yes. I understand.” Nathan raised one finger. ”Well, one of my familiars is an auspicious beast. With his help, we can determine an auspicious date for marriage. However, we can discuss it at a later date.”

”Indeed.” Rena agreed. ”Unfortunately, her mother canʼt meet you right now or else I wouldnʼt have been the one handling this.”

”Itʼs fine. I understand.” Nathan waved his hand. ”This is enough. Thank you very much.”

”Alright.”

Because the world was quite chaotic, these people seemed to be anxious since anything could happen to them while they were exploring the alien territory.

That was why they wanted to finalize the engagement or even the marriage as quickly as possible, which Nathan could also understand.

He thought the marriage would probably happen around one year from now.
