Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 953: Bad Feng Shui

”Welcome… Qilin.” Nathan smiled. He had been bothered about whether he should choose Qilin or Pixiu. While it was true that Qilin was more suitable for him, it was a very gentle beast.

It signified goodwill, benevolence, gentleness, and integrity. It was very kind toward other living beings, careful not to harm even insects and grass. To avoid harm, the creature might even walk on water.

That was why, if he summoned Qilin, he couldnʼt count on him in battle. However, this was his ultimate decision.

It was a hard decision because both Qilin and Pixiu had their own strengths and weaknesses, but Nathan ultimately picked Qilin.

Qilin raised its head the moment it was summoned to this world as though it were looking at something in the sky.

However, it soon lowered its head, its gaze meeting with Nathanʼs.

”My summoner, Nathan.” Qilin greeted him.

”Thank you for responding to my call.” Nathan nodded with a serious expression.

”Yes. Thank you for calling me. This is the first time I have seen a personʼs fortune and misfortune bigger than what a dynasty could have…” Qilin closed his eyes.

”!!!” Nathan raised his head. This was actually the second reason he wanted an auspicious beast. Those with fortune and karma would definitely understand more about the complex soul he had, so he might find something else through the familiar.

”Is that so?” Nathan paused for a moment. ”What do you think about it? Is it bad?”

”Not at all. However, your fortune seems to have been shifted by something else. I donʼt know what kind of force it is, but the fact that it can mess around with your own fortune means it at least contains something similar.”

”Do you mean my karma is the one messing with itself?”

”Essentially, but itʼs more complex than that. Iʼm not entirely sure what makes it, but it certainly has the same foundation. Unfortunately, the method of messing with karma is taboo, but I donʼt think this one is created from that taboo. In other words, there might be another method that creates such a phenomenon.”

Nathan looked down. He didnʼt know his karma would be this complicated. It appeared even an auspicious beast wouldnʼt know about it.

After thinking for a while, Nathan asked, ”Does that mean you canʼt change it?”

”Not necessarily.” Qilin shook his head. ”While itʼs true that you canʼt directly mess with it, you can still tweak it.

”What do you wish, Summoner?”

”I donʼt wish for much. Whenever I go out, I will have to face an extraordinary opponent, so I just wish for a safe passage.”

”…” Qilin fell silent before shaking his head helplessly. ”Unfortunately, I canʼt help you with that. If I shift it according to your wish, Iʼm afraid that you will not like it.”

”Hmmm? What do you mean?” Nathan frowned.

”Your fortune and misfortune are tied together. If you wish to have less misfortune, that means you will not receive the fortune. Have you not realized it, Summoner?”

”!!!” Nathan raised his eyebrows. Now that he thought about it, Qilinʼs words might be true.

In the previous expedition, he messed around with fate and got punished by it with the sudden appearance of an elite class alien.

However, that misfortune turned into a blessing the moment they saved Count Ashton. Count Ashton killed that elite class alien, resulting in him getting the elite class core.

If there was no misfortune, he wouldnʼt have the fortune.

Nathan looked down, falling into deep thought. If he asked for a safe passage, it meant his progress might also slow down.

”Your feng shui is bad. The only thing I can help you with is making sure that your feng shui is good. It wonʼt resolve the bad energy in your body, but it will reduce your burden. However, this also means that your fortune will be slightly reduced.

”I believe this is what you want, Summoner.”

”That is indeed true. Is it possible?” Nathan asked. ”Wonʼt it cause any other problems?”

”Not necessarily. From the memory you give me, you have always described that you will find a problem, and the problem will get worse. Hence, you have to solve that problem before receiving the fortune.

”If I tweak your feng shui, you will find fewer problems, but the process itself wonʼt disappear entirely. Instead, those several problems that have disappeared will actually turn into a blessing.

”Hence, you will more likely find something good during that problem or in between.”

Nathan squinted his eyes. ”Does that mean, if I go around like this, I might end up finding money or something?”

”Yes. However, this is for your career, meaning itʼs more effective against aliens. And this fortune… I donʼt know how it will appear before you.”

”I see…” Nathan closed his eyes, falling into deep thought. ”I understand. I think thatʼs good enough for me. Itʼs fine if there are still problems since it also means I can still grow fast. However, if there are too many problems in my expedition, Iʼm afraid my ena and my body wonʼt hold.”

”Understood.” Qilin nodded and lifted up his head again as his rainbow-colored energy spread in all directions before turning back to gold.

Black and white color gradually formed underneath its body and turned into yin and yang. Several lines with different thicknesses then formed in all eight directions before it was enclosed by a solid circle.

Nathan looked down, recognizing this circle. It wasnʼt a magic circle, but one associated with feng shui. ”Bagua?”

The Bagua was activated, enveloping Qilin and Nathan in a bright, golden light.

The golden light felt warm, making Nathan feel so comfortable that he gradually closed his eyes.

Nathan couldnʼt feel much from this light, but there was one change he actually noticed.

For some reason, the worry in his heart gradually disappeared, as though someone was comforting him, telling him that it was gone.

He probably wouldnʼt be able to see the effect right away, but he knew that Qilin had helped him to a certain extent.

He wondered if Qilin had any fighting ability, but it was best not to talk about it for the time being, considering Qilin was a very gentle beast. He wanted Qilin to adjust to this world first before asking him to fight or contribute to battle.
