Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 962: Duel

”What do you want then?” Evelyn asked.

Nathan smiled. ”Iʼll be reserving it for later.”

Evelyn squinted her eyes. Nathan was doing the same thing as she did earlier. She hadnʼt told Nathan about what she wanted in exchange for teaching him.

In this way, Nathan could use this favor to annul her request if he thought it was excessive later. If it wasnʼt excessive, he would accept her request and ask her to do something else.

It was a clever play from Nathan. After all, Nathan might ask for a naughty thing.

Still, Evelyn had her own confidence that she wouldnʼt be beaten by Nathan, no matter how absurd his strength was.

At the same time, this fight was something she couldnʼt miss. Both Nathan and Evelyn wanted to know each otherʼs strengths for the future.

Evelyn crossed her arms before agreeing to this bet. ”Fine. Weʼll have it that way. If you win, I will owe you one. Or do you want me to simply erase the debt?”

”What do you think? Do you want us to owe each other one thing, or do you want both of us to be free?” Nathan grinned.

Evelyn didnʼt understand why Nathan asked a question. She simply answered, ”Letʼs do the former.”

It was more convenient for her to choose the first option. Although it meant she had to do something for Nathan in the future, it was the same the other way around.

While Nathan might not be strong, this favor was extremely useful. Nathan was growing at such a fast speed, so it wouldnʼt be weird if his strength surpassed Bella and the others soon.

In addition, Nathan had a lot of connections and had done a lot of unique things, so there might be something she wanted in the future.

Of course, she also had a plan of her own, but this showed how useful a favor from Nathan was. There was no way she was going to pass up on that.

Little did she know, this question was actually a tricky question from Nathan. The purpose was simple.

If Evelyn didnʼt have any attachment to him, she would rather have the debts settled by this bet. After all, Nathan could literally ask her to do something naughty, which had been shown by the fact he had multiple women.

Nathan now knew that Evelyn might not be against that idea to a certain extent. While he couldnʼt do such a thing yet, he at least knew that he was different from all the people who pursued her in the past.

No, with Bellaʼs statement about what happened to those who pursued her, he was probably the first person she accepted this far.

That was why Nathan was already satisfied with the answer, even if he didnʼt win this time. Of course, he planned to win for another reason.

”In that case, to make it official, do we need Bella to referee it for us? I canʼt have you shamelessly refuse to acknowledge my hit.” Nathan grinned, taunting her.

”Fine by me. Besides, having Bella see your current strength should be good enough.” Evelyn added inwardly, ʼBesides, I donʼt know how far youʼre going to hide your innate ability. I might not know the details, but with Bella, it will be harder for you to show your innate ability.ʼ

”Letʼs do it then.” Nathan nodded in agreement.

”Alright. I will call Bella here. Weʼll fight in this forest instead of on a plain. So, you better show me your strength.” Evelyn snapped her fingers to invite Bella, who was in the mansion.

Nathan, on the other hand, smiled evilly as he formed a few contracts. Evelyn might think she could hinder him from using the contract, but Nathan was aware that Bella knew his innate ability to a certain extent. At the very least, she should learn it from Evelyn.

As long as he didnʼt fully utilize it in front of her, she could only speculate. Besides, these people didnʼt have families, so there was simply no one for them to share this information with. It was different from Alavenya or Noelle, who still had their parents.

Nathan was preparing a few trump cards just to ensure his victory.

…

A few minutes later.

Nathan and Evelyn stood in front of each other, with Bella watching from the side.

”Letʼs make this clear. Weʼll be fighting for 30 minutes. If you manage to land a clean hit even just once, you win. If you canʼt do it within those 30 minutes, you lose.

”During the battle, you may use all your strength and familiars. Meanwhile, I can only fight with my gravity. My familiars will be sealed.”

”Yes.” Nathan nodded.

”Whatʼs with the bet, by the way?” Bella asked.

”Itʼs nothing much. I will get a boat for you guys so that we can reach that place safely if she wins. She is willing to do anything for me once I win.” Nathan raised his eyebrows, noticing something. ”Do I need to get the supplies as well? Or just the boat?”

”Neyeid can handle the supplies. The boat… Without proper connection or knowledge, we might be cheated or the boat might cost more than expected, so itʼs better if you are the ones getting the boat.”

”Fair enough.” Nathan nodded.

”Seriously? Thatʼs the bet?” Bella looked surprised. The boat would certainly require a lot of money, but she didnʼt expect Evelyn would agree to the situation where Nathan and Evelyn would do one thing for each other instead of settling the bet.

She couldnʼt help but stare at Nathan in amazement. This was the first time Evelyn opened up to someone.

Even though Revon or Neyeid were pretty close to Evelyn, she wouldnʼt give them this kind of favor.

From the looks of it, Evelyn didnʼt realize that she had changed. She felt more amused with the bet than the fight itself.

”I see.” While having a hard time containing her smile, Bella raised her hand. ”I will oversee the entire fight. I promise to be fair. Are both of you ready?”

”Anytime.” Nathan nodded while summoning his familiars.

”Yes.” Evelyn raised her stance.

”Then, go!” Bella announced out loud.
