Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 988: Troublemaker

”What is going on here?” An old man entered the room with a solemn face.

”Sir Rood.” The captain raised his eyebrows. ”To think that they would send people immediately.”

”An alien in human clothing…” He squinted his eyes while approaching the corpse on the table. ”Considering the situation, I do need to come here. We heard some bad rumors about this a few months ago.”

”A few months ago? Does the kingdom know about this matter? For them to send Sir Rood, the vice commander of the Summoner Division, here so quickly…” The captain frowned.

”Yeah.” He nodded.

”Isnʼt this going to be easy? Theyʼre just aliens. They wonʼt pose any threats to us.” A young man who had been accompanying Rood finally spoke in a casual tone.

The captain couldnʼt help but look at this young man but didnʼt say anything out of respect for Rood.

”Captain Barnes. I heard the report on the way. Weʼll treat this matter seriously.” Rood paused for a moment. ”There might be another incident like this, so I want the division in this city to be extra careful.

”It might also happen in other cities, so I have made certain arrangements. Anyway, I have invited some experts to help us. For the time being, I want you to patrol the area. During the night, have a pair going around the city.”

”Yes, sir.” Barnes nodded with a solemn face. ”May I know some information about this thing, sir?”

”Itʼs better for us to wait for those people. They should be arriving by now.” Rood turned his head to the side as if he was using his extraordinary senses to check the buildingʼs entrance. ”Yeah. Theyʼre outside. Follow me.”

They walked outside the building, finding a blue-colored carriage. When it was opened, two people exited the carriage.

The first one was Minister Albert, who had been in charge after Duke Sullivan went to the front line. The second person was not Flora or anyone from the special division. Instead, it was Selena.

”Welcome, Minister Albert and Young Lady Selena. Weʼve been waiting for your arrival.” Rood smiled.

Albert nodded and shook Roodʼs hand while saying, ”Thank you for allowing us to be here. I come here mostly for everything related to the alien, while Lady Selena is here to tell us everything about the organization behind it.”

”Of course.” Rood smiled while extending his hand. ”Please come in.”

Rood led them to the room where they stored the corpse earlier.

After seeing the alien personally, Albert examined the corpse with his eyes before saying, ”Yes. This definitely came from the same organization.”

”I see.” Rood was satisfied. Since they knew who it was, it would be easier to deal with them.

”The same organization. Doesnʼt that mean youʼre so incompetent that you couldnʼt even crush them and cause all this to happen?” The young man snorted.

”!!!” Albert and Selena didnʼt expect that reaction and frowned. Albert asked, ”Mr. Rood, this is…”

Rood smiled apologetically and said, ”Iʼm sorry. This is a young talent weʼve just got. I brought him here to get some experience. Heʼs Lavinster Kron.”

”Kron? Duke Kron?”

”Yes. Heʼs the second son of Duke Kron.”

The moment he heard his identity, Albert realized why this guy was fearless. Duke Kron was a world class summoner, so no one really wanted to offend him.

At the same time, Rood was an arcane level summoner, but the commander of the Summoner Division of this country was a world class summoner. It looked like Duke Kron was trying to seize the division through his son.

Albert chose to let this go, since they came as a guest. However, it looked like the young man didnʼt have the same intention.

”What? Iʼm not wrong. If they were just a bit more competent, they would have crushed the enemy already, and we wouldnʼt have to deal with this.”

”…” Selena maintained her silence the whole time, wondering why he was so arrogant when he was just a bit talented. Then again, this was the Liaystian Kingdom.

In the Azilia Kingdom, no one provoked them like this simply because they were aware of her status. Nathan had the royal family and Duke Sullivan as his backers through Flora and Noelle. He also had her Ashton family, so everything progressed smoothly.

On the other hand, the Liaystian Kingdom was fundamentally different. They were originally from eight kingdoms that ended up going under one banner. One kingdom formed a royal family, while the other turned into seven dukes.

Duke Kron was one of them. They married off their descendants to maintain their strength and put the strongest on the highest seat.

In this kingdom, Duke Kron was equal to other dukes and only beneath one king. In other words, other than the royal family of the Liaystian Kingdom, this young man could remain arrogant.

And it wasnʼt like other kingdoms wanted to play around with the Liaystian Kingdom due to them amassing a large number of world class summoners.

In fact, in terms of status, her family was nothing compared to the Kron Dukedom. The only thing that could match their status was her teacher, Sage Leyfon.

Even Albert, a minister, had a lower status than a world class summoner like her teacher.

Still, Selena remained silent. She didnʼt plan to start a fight just yet, since her original target was the Divine Hand.

With a solemn face, Albert said, ”Is this the stance of the Liaystian Kingdom, Mr. Rood?”

Rood let out a long sigh. He raised his hand. ”Captain Barnes. Please escort Lavinster Kron outside.”

”What?! You freaking old man! What are you doing? Iʼm Lavinster Kron! Stop it! Stop or Iʼm going to execute—bang!” The door was shut before he even finished his words.

Rood closed his eyes for a moment and politely nodded his head. ”I apologize for all the ruckus. Heʼs a bit spoiled.”

Albert took a deep breath to calm his heart down. However, all of them knew that the reason Rood chose to stop Lavinster was not because of Albert, but because of Selena.
