Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 994: Observing the Observer

The situation around the city was stabilized quickly as so many people were taking down the aliens. As Selena said, there was no other method to save them, so they believed they should just kill the alien without showing any mercy.

Still, Captain Barnes tried to capture them alive, thinking that there might be other chances. That was why his side took a bit longer than the others.

Meanwhile, Rood let out a long sigh while looking around. ”This is horrible. How many people have died?”

He could see corpses all around the area. They reacted just a bit too late, but this area had been covered in corpses.

”This place has seven. How about other areas? I’m afraid the casualties this time are over 100...” Rood clicked his tongue. He never thought the casualties would be this high.

The aliens emerged simultaneously. From his original calculation, there were at least twenty aliens all around the town, but he needed the exact number just to prove his theory.

”We’ve suffered this much from an initial attack. What if the enemy is coming for the capital city or any city with a bustling street or higher population? What if they attack with even more aliens?”

Rood felt chills down his spine. The casualties would be unimaginable. And he was just thinking about one city. There was a high chance the enemy would cause this ruckus in multiple cities or even in multiple kingdoms.

This was what Selena previously said regarding the threat level of this organization. It was at this moment that he understood how terrifying the Divine Hand organization was.

This whole time, they had been pushed back by the Frexia Academy and their alliance. Instead of recklessly confronting them, the Divine Hand Organization chose to hide their fangs and build up their strength.

And this time, they had a better plan and were more ready to attack them. The only problem was that they were targeting the Liaystian Kingdom instead of other kingdoms.

He was the one who had to suffer this headache.

Rood bit his lips. ”This is not going to work. We have to be more aggressive. We have to eliminate them before the casualties increase even further. And I’m not accounting for the chance of summoners getting hit by this attack...”

Rood shook his head and rushed back. He had no choice but to talk to Albert and Selena to discuss how to deal with the problem.

Little did he know, someone had been observing him from a building. That person closed the curtain once he walked away.

”The attack was stopped sooner than I originally thought. However, this was only due to the Summoner Division’s vice commander.

”If we attacked other cities, we would produce a much better result.” The woman wrote down the report. ”Well, I should check the town soon and see the damage from this attack.

”Once everything is ready, we’ll unleash thousands of aliens at once and kill them all. Their only way to avoid it was to accept the alien inside their bodies.

”No. Maybe we should target an academy this time... The normal people don’t have enough resistance to stop the alien. But the summoners might be able to coexist with them.”

The woman nodded in understanding. After waiting for a while, she exited the building to check the town’s condition.

...

”This can’t go on! At this rate, more people are at risk!” Rood gritted his teeth, glaring at Selena.

”We have to check the entire town.” Selena frowned. ”We have shown the symptoms, so we have no other choice but to check everything manually. Right now, there is no other way to inspect the inside of their bodies without direct touch.”

Rood bit his lips. What Selena said was correct. But there was no way to inspect the entire population.

”There’s also a chance for the alien to be inserted not long prior to this to erase their trace and avoid any suspicions,” explained Selena.

Rood looked down, pondering. ”What is your plan then?”

”We have to lure them out. Someone must be observing all our movements inside the city, so we have to take them down. Once we capture them and extract the information, we will directly hit their place. This is the only way.” Selena sighed.

”Do you think it’s that easy to find those people?” Rood gritted his teeth. ”If it were that easy, you would have crushed them already.”

”We have no other choice.”

Rood bit his lips as Albert suddenly proposed, ”In that case, how about this? We lock down the city and tell the people to remain inside their houses. We knock on their door one by one and inspect them.

”It will take a while, but the enemy is quite powerful. As long as we find out they have ena, we can assume they’re the enemies!”

It was a good suggestion. It might take more time, but the sooner they catch them, the faster they can solve this problem.

Rood pondered for a moment. Unbeknownst to them, the woman who was monitoring the city was panicking the moment they saw them, specifically Selena.

’Huh? What’s going on?’ The woman was hiding right away. ’Why would that person be here? Isn’t she Selena Ashton? We’ve been suffering in Nathan’s hands. Don’t tell me, that person is also here? Have they figured out our plan? No. There’s no way they’ve figured out our plan.

’We still have time, but their involvement this time...’ The woman hurriedly rushed back to the house she had in this city and reported the situation.

It was at this moment a portal appeared in front of her as a guy emerged from the portal.

”Lucas!”

Lucas nodded. ”What’s going on, Sandra? According to your report, the situation doesn’t look good.”

”Yes. I don’t know what’s going on as well, but I’m afraid that person is involved. I haven’t found him here, but his woman is here. This might be a trap. We have to avoid this city and make ourselves unpredictable.”

Lucas thought for a moment before asking, ”Do you have a suggestion?”

”How about we attack an academy? Since it’s in our plan, we just have to move it ahead of the schedule. I don’t know how much they have figured out our plan, so this time, we should be faster. Or do you want to hide again?”

”Then, let’s do that. We’ll keep an eye on their movement. Depending on their actions, we will see what to do next.”

Sandra nodded as both of them teleported by using Lucas’ power. Little did they know, Selena was nothing but bait.

Three people were observing them the whole time without them realizing it.
