Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 584: Santa Claus (Bonus)

”…” All of them couldnʼt help but observe Flora, not understanding what had just happened. Why would Floraʼs expression suddenly change?

Nathanʼs expression became even darker. He thought, ʼThis guy is a true politician. He must know Floraʼs weakness and give it to her. This guy is dangerous… No, I should probably not work with him anymore.ʼ

Unfortunately, Nathan couldnʼt do anything.

As Nathan predicted, the war minister understood the importance of the first lady. As someone who was closest to Nathan and who trusted him the most, the next reward would go to Selena.

This would definitely boost Selenaʼs ego since he basically approved her standing as someone above the other girls. Flora could be ignored because of her status as a princess.

The war minister announced, ”Thanks to your valiant effort, the king has decided to reward you with 5 warrior class cores and 30 mature class cores, Lady Selena. In addition, weʼd like to present to you this treasured item.”

The war minister took out a wand. The wandʼs handle was black, but it didnʼt seem to be made of ordinary metal. The head of the wand was coated with gold and finished with several enchantments. Last but not least, the eye of the wand was a blood-red gem.

”Isnʼt that… Staff of Windsor?” Flora raised her eyebrows.

”Yes. This is the Staff of Windsor, a staff of the highest level equipped with several enchantments. It was last used by the royal magician of our kingdom 120 years ago. After hearing Young Lady Selenaʼs brilliant talent, His Majesty believes you will surpass your father or even your ancestor. He places a lot of expectations on you, Young Lady Selena. I hope you can become the person who is able to become the true owner of the staff.”

”…” Selena blinked a few times.

Meanwhile, Flora, who had been persuaded… or more like bribed by the war minister, hurriedly helped him convince Selena. ”You should take it, Selena. Itʼs probably going to rot in the treasury if you donʼt use it. At a time like this, good things such as this wand are better to be used rather than getting covered with dust.”

”…” Selena ultimately nodded her head. ”Iʼll accept the reward gratefully. Thank you very much.”

The war minister knew that the Ashton family was a sensitive topic to her, but they didnʼt know much about the conflicts between them, so it wasnʼt wise to bring it up as a reward. They had to find out a bit more. Besides, he knew this wouldnʼt be the last time they met each other.

The war minister smiled before turning to Sera. ”Saintess Sera. The Azilia Kingdom is grateful for your effort. Even though you belong to the Holy Kingdom, your effort still has to be rewarded.

”The Azilia Kingdom has decided to reward you with 3 warrior class cores and 30 mature class cores. In addition, weʼd like to give you this necklace.”

He presented a necklace with a golden jade on it, which immediately piqued Seraʼs interest.

”Isnʼt this…” Sera seemed to recognize it.

”Yes. 150 years ago, a saint who was supposed to be the next Pope ended up falling in love with royalty from our kingdom. The saint ended up being stripped of his status, and he left behind this necklace as a proof of his love for his wife.”

The war minister basically said that it was fine for her to pursue love and stay in the kingdom like that saint. Besides, it wasnʼt like the Pope forbade her.

”Isnʼt that good, Sera?” Flora smiled.

”…” Sera thought for a moment before nodding her head. ”I gratefully accept the reward. Thank you very much.”

The war minister then moved to Noelle, the granddaughter of the Sword Saint. ”Your grandfather is proud of you and thanking you. Itʼs unfortunate that he canʼt join us today as he still has to guard the front line.

”However, your grandfather wanted me to pass you a message along with this reward.

”Noelle Flamante. The kingdom would like to reward you with 3 warrior class cores and 30 mature class cores. In addition, we believe that this fiery gem will be able to help you on the battlefield.”

The war minister presented a red gem like that of a ruby.

”Phoenix Tear is its name. Itʼs not a phoenix, but you can imbue this gem with your sword so that it will boost your fire element.

”Your grandfather said, ʼNow that you have found your path, itʼs not good to focus only on your swordsmanship. You also have to develop everything around your sword, including your fire element.ʼ”

Noelle nodded without hesitation. ”I understand. Thank you very much. Long live the Azilia Kingdom. Long live His Majesty.”

The war minister finally turned to the last person in the room. Unlike the others, the reward this time was not an item.

Instead, the war minister brought her a letter. ”There was a reason for your father choosing to settle down in a neutral zone.

”However, bringing thousands of people into the kingdom is a big deal. Hence, please give this letter to your father. This letter will be the proof that the kingdom will turn a blind eye to his migration and wonʼt get involved with his matter.

”If the citizens are willing to be converted and become the citizens of our kingdom, weʼd welcome it with open arms.

”Of course, youʼll also be rewarded with 3 warrior class cores and 30 mature class cores on top of that. I hope this letter will put your and your fatherʼs worries to rest.”

Alavenya didnʼt know much about politics since she had been raised as a mercenary in the neutral zone. But when she heard it, she finally realized how big it was for her father to agree to bringing everyone into this country just because of her request.

So, Alavenya really had no choice but to accept the letter. ”Thank you very much.”

Nathan was watching everything from the side as he couldnʼt help but mutter, ʼThis old man is like Santa Claus who is giving the kids the presents they want.ʼ
