Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 555: Regrouping with the Minister

As Nathan ordered, the moment they were done with the aliens, they immediately broke their formation and marched toward the hills.

The soldiers helped the injured ones by bringing them to the center, allowing Anubis to heal them while they were marching to the hills.

Once they recovered enough to walk, they immediately helped other people.

Unfortunately, the people who had fallen in battle couldnʼt be recovered easily since they had to move right away.

As Nathan had expected, the base was under the siege of the aliens. Fortunately, there was no sign of the warrior class aliens here, so Nathan didnʼt hesitate to engage the enemies, relieving the base.

Still, because they were hunkering down inside this base, they managed to conserve their strength by utilizing their advantages.

After he cleaned up the battlefield, Nathan, Flora, and the four captains held a meeting with the commander of this base.

The middle-aged commander politely bowed his head. ”I apologize. Due to the surprise attack from the aliens, we couldnʼt send any reinforcements.”

Nathan couldnʼt help but squint his eyes. At first, he wondered why he didnʼt do it. If the king told them to send reinforcements, he must mention Flora or another VIP, which forced them to send people even though it was risky.

So, he wondered if the king had forgotten about it or not.

Unfortunately, he didnʼt have a lot of time for an argument.

Flora introduced Nathan. ”This is the one in charge of our army, Nathan.”

Nathan nodded. Although he would be quite rude, he had to finish this meeting as quickly as possible.

”Captain Redd. Work together with them and get the loot from our battlefield. My group will only take the mature class and warrior class aliensʼ cores. Grab the rest for you and your men. Make sure to compensate the people who have fallen in battle properly.”

”!!!” The captain who was working with him the most was startled. If Nathan wanted to take even fifty percent of the proto-class and juvenile class cores, no one would raise an argument. That was how much Nathan had contributed to the battle.

The fact that he was willing to give up all that so that the warriors could be properly compensated was beyond his imagination.

Still, even though he gave up all that, his group still got 23 mature class cores and two warrior class cores. In addition, he got plenty of cores for cleaning up the hill and the rest of the missions, not counting the reward he would receive from finding these important tunnels.

This lack of greed and just commanding ability moved the peopleʼs hearts. Little did they know, he just did it so that the people would remember him, allowing him to command the army easily if there was a need in the future.

”Captain Vinister. You work with this base to seal off the tunnels according to our original plan.

”As such, weʼll only be bringing our freshest soldiers to regroup with the minister. I need some soldiers from this base as well.” Nathan gave all his demands.

The commander was slightly surprised, but the captains explained the situation properly to him. Even the middle-aged commander had to agree with Nathanʼs proposal.

He just never thought that the situation was that dire.

Once they replenished some of their forces, Nathan immediately led the army to regroup with the minister.

Their current situation was unknown and their location could only be predicted. Hence, the base gave them a lot of scouts so that they could find the ministers.

Nidhogg was too big and would catch a lot of attention, especially from the aliens, so Nathan only asked Jinwu to fly around in his normal form.

It took them three hours to find a trace of the battle.

And the situation looked grimmer than he originally thought.

They were encircled by so many aliens. From just a single glance alone, it looked like there were at least 4,000 aliens in the area, not counting those who had died.

The soils had been dyed red with blood as rivers of blood formed in multiple directions.

The minister had brought at least 4,000 soldiers, but from what he could see, they had been reduced to half.

There were a lot of mature class aliens who were occupied with their own battle. It was simply too chaotic.

”…” Nathan couldnʼt help but gasp the moment he heard the news and immediately checked it with his own eye by flying with Nidhogg.

”This is not looking good.” Nidhogg squinted his eyes. ”Our battle lasted for an hour and a half. The cooperation with the base until we marched out took around one more hour. In addition to the three-hour march, they have been fighting for around five and a half hours.”

”No. Fortunately, itʼs not as bad as what we are seeing right now. The death I sense in this area has a much lower number. Iʼm afraid that theyʼre just severely injured or too exhausted. Still, if this continues, the number will increase drastically. I will have to exert myself to heal all those people. I might not have enough rest to accompany you for the rest of the journey.”

”Thatʼs enough for now. I can simply give you more ena through a contract if necessary.” Nathan nodded.

Anubis agreed with Nathan as Nidhogg descended to the ground.

Nathan immediately ordered, ”Captain Sean, Captain Lamiskar. I want both of you to assume formation and focus on the aliens on the left side. Weʼll peel them off, but make sure you donʼt step on the bodies of our comrades. They might still be alive. The summoners will be focusing on the right, where a lot of mature class aliens gather.”

They accepted the order without hesitation.

At the same time, his group was in tatters as well. A few of them hadnʼt recovered enough, so familiars like Risa still couldnʼt join them yet.

The remaining familiars were also tired from the previous battle, which limited the number of aliens they could kill.

That was why they had to fight together.

The moment they reached the battlefield and saw the chaotic situation, they hurriedly marched to help them.

Nathan and the others summoned their familiars to engage with the mature class alien.

To everyoneʼs surprise, their help might not be needed. After all, a man suddenly came out of a warrior class alienʼs head with a punch that popped its head.

He stood on top of the body as it fell down. His muscular body that had been hidden all this time because of the formal uniform he had to wear in the palace was covered in blood.

While fixing his hair, he noticed Nathanʼs group and smiled. ”Oh! You guys have finally arrived?. No worries. It took me a while, but the four warrior class aliens had been eliminated. Tsk. They make me remember my life as a warrior. Donʼt they know Iʼm just a bureaucrat now?”
