Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 580: Bath (Bonus)

”Are you sure about this?” Vivian asked.

Nathan nodded. ”Yes.”

Vivian crossed her arms, wanting to persuade him, but his expression was telling her that no matter what she did, Nathan wouldnʼt change his mind.

Vivian sighed. ”Iʼll be using herbs that are more potent. This will definitely be painful because it will forcefully stretch your ena veins from the inside.

”Your ena veins might even pop some holes, which will give an unimaginable pain. In addition, Anubisʼ treatment will give a different kind of pain.

”If we repeat this process four to five times, your ena might expand 50% in size. This should be enough for 10 cores, which means if you swallow the warrior class cores, you are able to do it but experience a hellish pain.”

”Canʼt I just get more herbs to reach 12 cores?” Nathan smiled wryly.

”You little…” Vivian smacked Nathanʼs head from the back. ”Do you know how expensive these herbs are? If I were to auction it, I could get at least 100,000 gold coins! And thatʼs just for a single bath. Youʼre going to repeat it four to five times!”

”Maybe we should stick to the original plan and get the money from the four kingdoms…” Nathan chuckled.

”Even if we have money, such herbs are hard to find in the market. In fact, 50% of them are something I personally grew. And because of the volcanic eruption, itʼs close to impossible to cultivate those herbs until the ash cloud is gone, let alone it will take at least 5-10 years before theyʼre ready.”

Nathan sighed. ”Life is hard, isnʼt it?”

Vivian wanted to smack him again, but she was just too worried.

”Teacher. If I manage to do this without passing out, how about teaching me one of your techniques?” Nathan made a cheeky grin.

”My technique? Havenʼt I taught you my technique?”

”Nope.”

”Really?” Vivian tilted her head in confusion. ”Did I forget? Well, if you want my technique, with the future size of your vein, I think you should be able to learn my breathing technique and footwork. I guess I will take some time to teach you those two techniques.

”Theyʼre not powerful like the techniques made by the Dragon King or the Sage, but they are pretty solid and focus on stability, which suits you.”

”Hehe. Thank you.” Nathan smiled.

”Anyway, just dip into this bath.” She tapped the wooden barrel filled with warm water and medicinal herbs.

”Mhmmm.” He nodded. Knowing that he would be experiencing unimaginable pain, he took a deep breath before dipping into the water in one go.

Fortunately, it didnʼt seem that the pain was spontaneous. He was able to sense the incoming pain that gradually increased by the second.

At first, he withstood the pain, even though it felt like he was being slit open from the inside.

However, it didnʼt take too long for him to scream. The pain had truly become unbearable.

He realized that the pain was similar to being ripped apart all over his body. Even Nathan, who was used to the pain, couldnʼt help but bang his hands and head against the barrel just trying to endure the pain.

Vivian stayed by his side the whole time, checking his body to ensure that the medicine didnʼt surpass the limit that his body could take.

Anubis frowned. He had been activating his ankh of immortality to check Nathanʼs condition, but as he expected, Nathan was being disintegrated from the inside.

After another fifteen minutes, Vivian pulled Nathan out of the bath and asked Anubis to take care of him.

This time, Nathan was experiencing a different kind of death. When his limbs were being treated, it felt like he was being dismembered alive, especially since his body was still hurt from the medicinal bath.

When Anubis treated his body, Nathan felt an emptiness that was like none other. All the organs in his upper body, especially his heart, were important, so when they were gone, Nathanʼs expression turned blank. It felt like he was there, but not there at the same time. He might be alive, but no matter how hard he checked it, he couldnʼt sense his own heartbeat.

The worst was when Anubis treated his head. His mind was everything for him, so the moment it was gone, he started questioning whether he was actually still alive or not.

Even though it only lasted for a minute or two, he had to endure it a few more times.

Nathan finally experienced something he truly didnʼt want to experience again. The sensation it brought simply made him question the meaning of life.

Nevertheless, Nathan didnʼt give up. He knew what he wanted in this world. Even if he had to endure the hellish training, he would achieve his goal.

Even after such an experience, he might complain about the pain, but he never said he wanted to give up.

During the treatment, Vivian had already prepared the next medicinal bath. Their objective was to do it in rapid succession so that the previous medicinal herb would boost the effect of the current one.

Because Nathan never asked for a break, the effect of the herbs played its full might.

He managed to succeed after taking a total of five baths, with each bath lasting around 15-20 minutes.

Although Vivian had seen Nathan enduring the mature class core, she truly didnʼt expect Nathan to be able to endure this kind of pain, considering she knew full well that it was much more painful than the mature class core.

Finally, after a total of three hours from the bath to Anubisʼ treatment, Nathan finally woke up from his ʼdeath.ʼ

”Aaahhhh!” Nathan shouted at the top of his lungs while panting heavily.

”Congratulations. I can sense that your veins are large enough to absorb a warrior class core. In fact, the limit has surpassed my original expectation. Your current limit is 11 cores, so when you absorb the warrior class alien, it wonʼt be as painful. You should try circulating your ena. You will notice the difference in its flow.”

”This is…” Nathan looked at his hands in surprise.
