Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 562: Identities

”Since you get the idea, letʼs delve deeper into the topic, shall we?”

Nathan nodded his head.

”Once weʼre able to establish these ranks, what do you think about divine beasts?”

”Hmm. The familiars I have summoned are derived from mythologies. However, there are some aspects that still confuse me.

”First of all, why would one be called a divine beast? Is it because their legend has become such a high level that they are deified? Or can they be called a divine beast if they were born from a god or goddess?”

”…” Anubis, Fenrir, and Jinwu fell silent. Fenrir was the son of a god and a female jotunn. In that case, was he called a divine beast because of his father? Or was it because of his strength? Would the strength inherited from his father help in that regard?

Anubis and Jinwu exchanged looks, considering their origin was rather similar.

Charlotte raised a finger. ”Why do you think I became a fairy queen?”

”I donʼt know. From what I know, there are Oberon as the fairy king and Titania as the fairy queen.” Nathan shook his head.

”The reason is simple. Itʼs because I have gained the strength equal to them. However, thatʼs only the requirement. To become a fairy queen, one has to be recognized as such.

”In other words, it will be useless if you are not recognized. Even a commoner can become a king if theyʼre recognized by a lot of people as a king.

”And I call this faith. Peopleʼs faith changes the way of the world, which will eventually change your identity. For example, if there is a baby born from a god and a goddess but people only recognize this child as a normal human, what will his status be? A god? Or a human?

”Unfortunately, the ultimate answer is still out there, waiting for someone to find it. I canʼt help but wonder… Why can people summon familiars from other worlds? And in that world, they have their respective legends and myths, which end up becoming their existence.

”I told you in the past that I wanted to know why I died in the perspective of another fairy, correct?

”If you look at it, you will realize that what we have is the memory of our peak instead of anything else. In that case, the fairy who recognized me… Had she died from other fairiesʼ perspectives as well? How about our original worlds?

”Are they still surviving until now? What are we? A vengeful spirit who canʼt enter the cycle of reincarnation? If thatʼs the case, the divine beasts before you… Are they truly divine beasts or just figures manifested from myths?”

”!!!” Fenrir and the others widened their eyes. They couldnʼt help but wonder why the topic suddenly changed to create an identity crisis.

However, the fairy queen wasnʼt lying. A personʼs legend could change significantly according to oneʼs perspective.

For example, if he recognized Sun Wukong as an evil deity, would that mean the legend about him being just a demon not true? And which identities would he assume when coming to this world?

Would they just come according to what was requested? If this was the case, all the familiars were just the figures manifested from their respective legends.

The fairy queen seemed to be the same as him, seeking that answer. In the end, he first had to understand the origin of their existence before talking about other things.

Knowing that they wouldnʼt be able to find that answer easily, the fairy queen asked, ”With that information, what do you want to ask regarding your divine beasts?”

Nathan looked down for a moment. ”I originally wanted to ask you whether it was possible to unlock oneʼs skill permanently or not, but…”

”En.” The fairy queen nodded. ”It seems youʼve figured it out as well. But letʼs begin with the very basics.

”Summoning a familiar much stronger than you. This is a very rare occurrence… or maybe not anymore, after you come here.

”Either way, letʼs talk about the summoning itself… especially the summoning circles.”

The fairy queen stood up and drew a simple magic circle on the board. ”This is the current generation of summoning circles. Normal people donʼt really care about the details, but this has come far from the first summoning circle.

”All I can say is that this circle is extremely effective and can be universally used, which is why this one is popular.

”Why? There are two aspects that one needs to pay attention to in the summoning ritual. They are the summoning chant and the summoning circle.

”Iʼll talk about the summoning chant later, but for now, letʼs take a look at the summoning circle, especially these parts.

”If you look closely, there are five patterns that are bigger than the rest of the symbols.

”They represent: Contract, Link, Sacrifice, Transfer, and Space. Letʼs start with space. Its meaning is literally. Itʼs the one creating a ʼtunnelʼ that connects this world and that world, allowing the familiar to be summoned to this world.

”Transfer is not about teleportation. Itʼs about your ena. With the ena particle theory, this Transfer is responsible for sending forth the ena particles inside your body to this new body. Your master used this as a base… No, the previous version of this pattern, to create the device to transfer the ena from a core to that device.

”Sacrifice. This is the most complex one. After all, if you follow the evolution of the summoning circle, you will find that before this one big pattern, the ʼSacrificeʼ is actually divided into three. They are Vessel, Bait, and Catalyst.

”For example, you can use a wolf as a vessel to summon your divine wolf. Then you will ask about the bait. What kind of bait will be perfect for a wolf? A meat? What kind of meat? In the end, it will create confusion.

”Last but not least, the Catalyst. This will be the section where you have to think about the kind of wolf you want to summon. If you want a divine wolf, the catalyst needs to have a kind of divinity in it.”

”!!!” Nathan suddenly remembered what people said about his blood containing divinity. ”Donʼt tell me… The divinity in my blood or body is actually the reason for me to summon divine beasts all the time?”
