Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 564: Evolution (Bonus)

”Exactly. If you look at the record of the link, you will be able to see the record of that skill yourself.” Charlotte paused. ”No. Itʼs not just seeing the record, but also tracing it back and pulling it back from the place used to store this knowledge.

”If you look at it, itʼs like a lump of weight getting sucked by the world while still being attached to a smaller rope. If you pull that rope, you will be able to acquire the skill permanently.”

Nathan crossed his arms. ”Still, if one gets stronger, they will be able to unlock that ability, right?”

”Thatʼs right. Using the same analogy, once you have pulled them up to the top of the cliff, which was this world, you simply need to fatten them up again so that their bodies could receive the fat.

”The ena will be expanding or bloating their body while the information about their skills will become their fat.”

Nathan rubbed his chin before widening his eyes as if he realized something. ”If thatʼs the case, can I, like, use this ena to acquire the skill?

”In the normal process, I will be sacrificing the ena to let them get their skill. However, what if I actually alter the transfer process itself?

”For example, the normal way is to have them unlock a few of their abilities whenever their quality increases after reaching a certain level.

”However, what if I alter the process so the world will be giving them a certain ability after reaching a certain threshold other than ʼlevelʼ or ʼquality?ʼ

”What if I use the amount of ena as the threshold? This way, I might use a small amount of ena to do it. In addition, Anubis can retain the majority of ena in his body. Instead of using like… 10,000 ena to get that skill, Iʼll use 1,000 ena to alter that process one time, which will lower the ena requirement, and transfer the 9,000 ena to Anubis to meet the unlock requirement.”

Charlotte didnʼt answer immediately. She considered the possibility carefully before answering. ”I think thatʼs possible. The true cost should be considered, but I believe itʼll be more cost effective… No, not more cost-effective but more beneficial for the overall contract.

”According to the normal method, you fatten them up in order to create a space so that multiple skills could enter at once. But if you alter the process and fatten them up enough just for one skill, it might actually work.”

Nathan was glad he talked about it first or else he would lose too much of ena.

With this solution, he should be able to fulfill Anubisʼ request.

At the same time, this topic actually raised another question. ”Does this mean I can also alter the information that is recorded in the world as well? For example, raising oneʼs quality forcefully.

”The divine beasts aside, whose real information is much higher and allows this possibility, what about other familiars, especially those who have reached the peak of their growth?”

The Fairy Queen pinched the bridge of her nose. ”Thatʼs… Iʼm not entirely sure. First of all, Quality is not just about talent.

”Itʼs the combination of Vessel, Talent, and Potential. If youʼre trying to evolve a familiar, you need to upgrade three of them at the same time.

”Letʼs use a vampire as our example this time. To evolve them, you need to feed them blood, which will stimulate their talent. The stronger the blood they suck, the more it stimulates or even grows their talent.

”However, that alone is not enough. Vessel is as important as talent. If their body canʼt hold that power, it will be useless. Thatʼs why if your vampire stops training, even if she takes your blood for years, she wonʼt be able to evolve anymore.

”The training to make your vessel bigger is similar to how a human trains their muscles. They repeatedly destroy it and let it rebuild again and again.

”Last but not least, Potential. They usually need an item that can increase their potential. It can be anything. Even enlightenment is a good way to increase your potential.

”Once they have these three things improved to a certain threshold, they will be able to evolve.

”In the vampireʼs case, your blood provides the thing to increase oneʼs potential, which must be your divinity. Her summoner is extremely talented, so she is the one giving the Talent. Last but not least, her own improvement, which allows her vessel to become strong enough to achieve evolution.

”When I heard about that vampire, I immediately thought about this. The vampire must have a strong desire to get stronger, and the summoner must be exceptionally talented. Thatʼs why I said your blood can let her evolve. Itʼs because thatʼs the only thing she lacks.”

Nathan nodded in understanding. ”If thatʼs the case, what should I do if I want to increase Sashaʼs quality?

”First, I should have her continue training so that her vessel is ready. Then, her talent and potential. Are these two the main reasons for me failing to upgrade her quality?

”Itʼs like what will happen if I boost all three of them at the same pace while one of the requirements is already met? Will they have an excessive amount and end up hindering their progress?”

”Iʼm not sure.” Charlotte shook her head. ”Instead, why donʼt you try upgrading these three separately? Or even using items as a catalyst? At the very least, this method will require less ena from you.”

”Items as a catalyst, huh?” Nathan contemplated. ”I can try, but doesnʼt this mean I should check more detailed information? Can I use the same method to see more detailed information?”

”Most likely. How about using it on me?” Charlotte asked with an excited smile.

”Hmm. Will you being so powerful affect the amount of ena I need?”

”Iʼm not sure. If it fails, you can always try it on someone else or even your familiar.” Charlotte shook her head. She was still determined that Nathan test it on her first.

Nathan smiled wryly. ”All right. Letʼs try it.”
