Global Cataclysm: Start building a floating island

Chapter 82 The Old Capital

Chapter 82 The Old Capital
Even if the main force of the Zerg left the planet Aiur, the strength of the remaining troops should not be underestimated.

And from the quantitative point of view, it is also more than the troops that attacked the temple before.

After leaving the tunnel, more than a hundred people hid on the slopes of the dunes to avoid the detection of Zerg creatures.

Rita stared at the gradually dissipating portal in the sky, then turned to look at Lin Ye:
”Let’s go!”

She no longer had that decadent feeling, and she became much more energetic.

It seems that Lin Ye’s previous lectures are still of some use.

He looked at the endless desert, then turned his head to look at Rita: ”There is no building boat, how should we go back?”

Originally, they could go to the teleportation point near the insect nest, which is the place where Lin Ye was caught on the spot when he came to El Star.

But since the temple was invaded, all teleportation points were forcibly closed, so this method can only be invalidated.

There are probably a bunch of Zerg creatures waiting around the teleportation point.

Lin Ye didn’t want to step out of the tiger’s den and into the wolf’s den.

Rita thought for a while, and responded:
”In the city’s ancestral temple, there will be a small teleportation array leading to the temple. In the past, it was specially used to go to the temple and worship the Lord of the temple.”

The sense of ceremony is quite strong.

It has to be said that the Ayre people have made some achievements in this regard.

”Where is that city, is it far away?” Lin Ye asked.

Rita turned her head and glanced at him, then lowered her eyes to the gravel on the ground:
”It’s right under our feet...”

Lin Ye immediately looked down upon hearing this.

But there was nothing under his feet except a piece of reddish-brown gravel.

”This was once the largest city on the planet Aiur, bar none!”

Rita didn’t look at him anymore, but commanded more than a hundred Templar soldiers, and began to walk along the sand dunes.

Lin Ye really couldn’t believe it, he bent down and picked up a handful of sand, put it in his hand and let the wind blow it away.

When he came out of the temple earlier, he had seen the huge city ruins with his own eyes.

But the ruins of that city, at any rate, still retain broken bricks and tiles, broken walls and ruins.

Some low-rise buildings have even survived intact, and traces of the original life can be vaguely seen.

And now the desert under his feet turned out to be the largest city in Al Star!

Here, what happened?

Lin Ye called everyone on the floating island and followed the temple warriors.

He originally wanted to ask Rita the specific reason, but considering her mood, after hesitating several times, he still didn’t speak.

Lin Ye decided to start looking for images of the past through the inheritance of the Lord of the Temple.

After searching for a long time, I finally saw the former appearance of El Star in Jialan’s memory.

Indeed, as Rita said, this place was originally a bustling city.

According to Blue Star, this place should be called the capital or the imperial capital.

The city is divided into several areas, with high-rise buildings in the urban area and criss-crossed fields outside the urban area.

The surrounding mountains are full of dense forests hundreds of miles deep, and the vegetation at the foot of the mountains has spread to the edge of the city.

In the video, you can even see groups of animals in the field, with gorgeous fur and light posture, just like forest elves.

Whenever night falls, the lanterns that light up step by step in the city complement each other with the bright stars in the sky, which is amazing.

However, one day later, disaster suddenly came to El Star.

At first it was a portal on the surface, and then the overwhelming Zerg fleet flew out of the portal and aggressively attacked the cities on the surface.

There are a large number of metal deposits in the underground of this imperial capital.

So the Zerg directly destroyed all the buildings in the city and built their lairs on the ruins.

Destructive excavation of rock formations followed, and ore was mined without restraint.

They rob the surrounding resources and absorb the energy of the earth’s core, causing the vegetation to die and the lake to dry up.

In just a few decades, the entire vibrant purple planet has become what it is today.

Led by Rita, the crowd walked on foot in the desert under the shadow of the dunes.

After a while, some building wreckage could be vaguely seen among the surrounding gravel.

Lin Ye stood where he was, wiped off the sweat from his forehead, panted and said:
”Unexpectedly, the ruins of the city are covered by the desert, and you can still recognize the road.”

Rita picked up the bricks on the ground and sighed: ”Because, this was the hometown where my parents lived for decades. Although I was not born at that time, I gradually understood the former hometown from a series of precious video materials. Beautiful El Star!”

Now, as long as she closes her eyes, the buildings hidden under the ruins will be reconstructed in her mind.

Lin Ye squatted down, brushed away the gravel on the ground, and picked up a broken stone brick the size of a palm.

The red and white bricks are also engraved with totem patterns, which are a microcosm of the past of Elvin civilization.

He originally wanted to take this stone as a collection.

When she got up, she saw Rita throwing the brick she just picked up.

”Why did you throw it away?” Lin Ye was puzzled.

Rita wiped the dust off her hands and said calmly: ”We can’t go back.”

Everyone turned over the undulating sand dunes, and finally, a continuous reddish-brown weathered rock appeared in front of them.

Rita led the team to a mountain depression, pointed to the gravel on the ground and said:

”The teleportation array is in it!”

Lin Ye immediately ordered everyone to dig, but after digging twice, he suddenly felt his feet sinking, so he immediately asked Rita:

”What was this place originally?”

Rita frowned: ”It used to be a sacrificial place in the capital, the roof of the Jongmyo Hall...”

Before the words fell, there was a crisp cracking sound from under the gravel, and then more than a hundred people all fell down.

The falling sand covered everyone.

Fortunately, the top of the hall was not high from the ground. Lin Ye coughed a few times and got up from the ground.

He patted his dusty hair, then looked around.

The light falls from the hole at the top and shines on the main hall, making it no longer dark here.

But the beast totem on the wall still looks a little weird.

However, unlike the ancestral hall in the temple, the decoration here is more ordinary, and the materials of the supporting columns and floor tiles are not so good.

There is no seat made of crystal clusters here, only a three-meter-high stone statue.

It has not been maintained and cleaned for a long time, the surface is covered with dust, and there are cracks in some places.

”Is this the Lord of the Temple?” Lin Ye asked Rita, stroking the armor on the stone statue.

He seems to have seen this person in the inherited memory, but because the time back is too long, the amount of information is too huge.

Every time he came out of the dream created by inheritance, he could not remember the appearance of the previous masters of the temple.

But one thing impressed him very deeply, that is, in the hands of the Lord of the Temple, he held a ruler and a compass.

And the stone statue in front of him is also this image.

It’s just that the shapes of the curved ruler and the compass are not the same.

”This one is the first temple master of El Civilization, which is also the god we respectfully call.”

He is God?

Lin Ye was a little disappointed, it was different from what he imagined.

”He is indeed the god of the Ayre people, but he is not the Ayre people!” Rita looked at the stone statue, her admiration in her eyes never diminished.

”What?” Lin Ye paused with his hand outstretched in midair.

However, what Rita said next shocked him so much that he couldn’t speak.

”He is the same as you, with red blood flowing all over his body!”
