“The blueprints were fine, with nothing particularly special about them.

The program code, however, was a different story.

It contained various formulas for controlling magnetic fields, which were crucial, and something he had never understood before.

“I see!”

“You can do this?”

“So mysterious…”

After seeing these formulas and algorithms, he experienced a series of epiphanies, resolving some previously incomprehensible problems.

At this moment, he understood everything.

Simply put, his lack of progress wasn’t due to insufficient knowledge, but because he hadn’t found the correct approach.

His research direction had been wrong from the start.

“With this, many problems are solved.”

Tang Rui examined the comprehensive magnetic field control equipment before him, realizing its extensive range of applications.

“Red Lotus, make a few hundred and store them in the warehouse.”

“Yes, Master.”

Because the equipment had so many uses, Tang Rui wasn’t sure how to replace it immediately.

But no matter what, he had to first make a batch and store them. This would save the trouble of making them on demand.

The new equipment was ready.

He had also unraveled the mystery of the magnetic field.

Tang Rui was preparing his thesis.

But at this moment, Red Lotus informed him that Han Shu had returned.

Their plane was about to land.

Upon hearing this news, Tang Rui stopped writing his thesis.

He immediately left the laboratory to welcome them at the end of the runway. Whoosh…

Just as he exited the mountain base, he saw the transport plane slowly coming to a stop near the hangar.

Guided by a robot-controlled trailer operated by Red Lotus, the transport plane parked in front of the hangar.

The rear compartment opened and Han Shu was the first to step out.

“Brother Han, welcome home. You’ve gotten much darker.”

Seeing Han Shu, Tang Rui greeted him with a smile.

“Home is always more comfortable. Over there, people are sunburned and oily so getting darker is normal. But you, President Tang, have become fairer recently.”

Han Shu approached, smiling.

Then, the two headed to the company’s office to drink tea and chat, mainly about the situation on Su’s side.

After Tang Rui had subdued Yingjiang’s mercenaries and completed their suppression, Han Shu took over the remaining tasks.

In fact, compared to the initial sweeping of the battlefield, the finishing work proved to be more troublesome.

Han Shu had initially only wanted to lead troops in battle and had not planned on getting involved in other matters.

However, as the military’s representative and the highest-ranking officer of the garrison, his actions represented more than himself.

Even without personal ambitions, others would still attribute various intentions to him.

This weighed heavily on Han Shu.

He couldn’t emulate MacArthur, nor were they Yingchan, so Han Shu had been somewhat uncomfortable there for a while.

Brother Han, what are your plans next?”

Tang Rui inquired.

“Where to go? I’m not going anywhere. Our Blue Army isn’t fully formed yet, so where can I go?” Han Shu replied, puzzled. This mission was only temporary. His main commitment in the country was still to the Blue Army.

Tang Rui’s question left him bemused.

“Do we still need the Blue Army?”

Judging from Han Shu’s tone, the military hadn’t abandoned the plan for the Blue Army.

But given the current international situation, the significance of the Lan family’s existence had diminished.

“Of course, we have to proceed. Moreover, the military has specially approved

50 billion in military funding to enhance the Blue Army’s equipment performance.

President Tang, are you okay with that?” Han Shu asked, somewhat anxiously

He was really worried that Tang Rui might decide to withdraw.

If Tang Rui opted out, he would have to leave the next day.

After all, Tang Rui was occupied with many tasks. If he cited research as an excuse, no one would object.

A Blue Army is important, but in comparison to Tang Rui, it wasn’t at the same level.

What was the big deal with five groups?

Even five divisions were insignificant.

“What issue could there be on my end? Since the Blue Army is being retained, let’s discuss the remaining regiments later,” Tang Rui said nonchalantly.

He had many responsibilities, but as long as he could circumvent them, it wouldn’t be a problem.

So retaining the Blue Army was a good move.

“There’s no need to wait. While I was free, I thought about this issue and now have a plan,” Han Shu couldn’t wait, fearing Tang Rui might change his mind.

“What’s your idea?” Tang Rui asked.

“In the latter stages of the cleanup work, we mainly faced local tribal militias. Their combat effectiveness wasn’t high, but they were troublesome to handle.

The special forces team, without deploying armored units, made significant contributions.

However, I also identified some issues during this period. The support speed of the special forces wasn’t fast enough, often failing to strike directly at the enemy’s heart.”

Han Shu recounted the situations he encountered during previous battles. Simply put, the speed of emergency mobilization wasn’t sufficient.

Small transport planes were fine, and their speed was fast, but it was sometimes impossible to charge directly into the enemy’s heart, like in areas with old-fashioned anti-aircraft guns and heavy machine guns.

Shells weren’t missiles.

With such a barrage of firepower, small transport planes couldn’t land, meaning decapitation tactics had to start from the outer circle.

Once, the enemy escaped through a mine shaft.

Although they were cornered at the exit, that was due to a fluke. In a real war, the enemy could hide in underground fortifications, and the special forces, given their strength, couldn’t break in.

In such cases, the decapitation mission was considered a failure.

“Brother Han, your request seems a bit high. Equipping the special forces team with a VTOL small transport plane and still calling it slow?”

Tang Rui grasped the gist after listening.

Per Han Shu’s implication, as soon as the enemy leader and command center were located, the special forces could directly proceed to execute decapitation. That seemed excessive.

“I’m not saying the special forces are slow. My idea is to create a rapid-response force capable of immediately eliminating the enemy leader upon discovery.”

“A missile, then. According to your criteria, only a missile traveling over 20 times the speed of sound could instantly eliminate the enemy leader upon discovery.”

Tang Rui was skeptical. This kind of requirement seemed only achievable by missiles, aimed for immediate destruction upon detection.

“Missiles aren’t suitable. Sometimes we need to rescue hostages, take out enemy commanders, and secure command center intel, all of which require human involvement.”

Understood. Brother Han, what new equipment are you thinking of? Just say

Tang Rui understood that Han Shu had something specific in mind.

“Hehe… Remember the power-assisted exoskeleton armor we developed?

My idea is, can we upgrade this exoskeleton armor, equipped with a power assist device, into a mecha?”

After saying this, Han Shu looked expectantly at Tang Rui.

Mecha?

Tang Rui was skeptical. He didn’t see the practical need for mechas outside of their prominence in science fiction.

Stuffing people inside for entertainment?

‘You really want a mecha?”

‘Yes, ideally one that can fly.”

“How about an Iron Man Mark armor then?”

“Is that feasible?”

“In your dreams.”

Tang Rui rolled his eyes. It wasn’t that he couldn’t create it; rather, it would be impractical.

Without a cutting-edge internal buffering system, using one would be lethal.

On a battlefield, if hit by artillery, the external armor might survive, but the person inside wouldn’t.

Without buffering, who could endure that?

“Is there truly no alternative?” Han Shu asked, disappointed.

“It’s not impossible, but forget about Iron Man. That’s unrealistic.

Tell me your specific needs, like required reaction time and desired combat level.”

“The goal is to target enemy airfields, radar stations, strategic missile units, and command centers. Under enemy ground and anti-air defenses, the force should be able to directly infiltrate and destroy crucial enemy elements.”

Han Shu detailed his specific requirements.

They sounded like a pipe dream.

After some contemplation, Tang Rui suddenly thought of a type of force that might actually meet Han Shu’s needs..
