chapter 87: precise guidance, cover fire

“goodness, heavy weaponry is all american-made,” remarked tang rui through the electro-optical system.

he observed the weapon configuration of the houthi armed forces, which seemed to consist mostly of confiscated american equipment, courtesy of their backers.

why were they exclusively using american weaponry? those in the know understood.

to be honest, as terrorists, having tanks, drones, individual anti-aircraft weapons, and ballistic missiles was quite out of the ordinary.

the most crucial question, however, was why these terrorists hadn’t been eliminated yet.

interesting, isn’t it?

tang rui paid no attention to these chaotic matters and continued marking ground targets.

“target locked.”

“engage with input fire control calculations for all elements.”

“guidance data link information transmission complete.”

once he finished locking onto all the targets and designated the elements for attack, he sent a message to prince salim.

“fire.”

one simple word, but it filled prince salim with excitement.

swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…

ten a-300 rocket launchers fired simultaneously, launching a total of 80 long-range rockets within 50 seconds.

tang rui’s drones provided continuous data support for the rockets, keeping the targets locked. coupled with the rockets’ internal guidance systems, there was hardly any risk of missing the targets.

although this wave of fire might seem like an excessive use of firepower, it didn’t matter. prince salim didn’t concern himself with trivial matters.

for the middle easterners, there was no problem that money couldn’t solve.

two minutes later, a series of explosions rang out outside the city.

a-300 rocket launchers were designed specifically for large-scale armored formations. the ammunition they carried could obliterate entire tank clusters.

now, tang rui was using this level of firepower to deal with a few tanks, a handful of pickups, and infantry. the effect was nothing short of devastating.

“china aerospace technology is amazing,” tang rui muttered softly as he watched the red dots disappear from the screen.

within a hundred meters of each impact crater, there were hardly any survivors left.

now it was time for the cruise missiles to perform their show.

tang rui began marking targets again, with a focus on those carrying anti-tank rocket launchers and individual anti-aircraft weapons.

after marking all the targets, he activated the annihilation mode.

suddenly, 1612 cruise missiles flew out of the city towards various targets outside.

the houthi forces, who had just been rattled by the rocket strikes and were now facing this deluge of cruise missiles, were left bewildered.

whenever more than three people gathered, the cruise missiles went straight for them.

some tried to shoot at the cruise missiles with their guns, which was absurd. this wasn’t a fantasy show. cruise missiles couldn’t be shot down with small arms fire.

as the cruise missiles descended one after another, the enemy’s firepower rapidly diminished until it was completely silenced.

“that’s extinguished,” tang rui said, looking at the disappearing red dots on the screen.

at this moment, another drone finally arrived.

tang rui looked at the missiles hanging in the drone’s payload bay and launched one. it felt like a waste; he was only conducting a live-fire test.

flying forward, he searched for targets. he planned to launch all the missiles and deal with any potential issues later.

there was an anti-air radar vehicle down there, an older model by the looks of it.

regardless, it had to be eliminated.

there was an off-road vehicle running quite fast.

eliminate it.

tang rui found several unlucky individuals and launched six missiles before turning back.

then he called prince salim.

“your highness, you can send your people over to clean up the battlefield.”

“praise be to allah, my friend, you’re amazing!” prince salim replied, clearly excited.

of course, he was. he had just scored a significant victory, and who wouldn’t be excited about that?

“by the way, i need an airstrip for refueling.”

“no problem, it’s a small matter.”

refueling was nothing compared to what tang rui had accomplished.

if tang rui asked prince salim to give him a fighter jet, it wouldn’t be a problem either. after all, tang rui had given him an unprecedented major achievement.

the middle east had never been this formidable before, even with new weapons. their true potential had never been fully realized.

tang rui controlled the drones to fly over an airstrip. instead of having both drones land simultaneously, he chose to land them one by one.

one drone went down for refueling while the other circled in the sky. tang rui didn’t activate the longbo lens, so there was no way for anyone on the ground to detect it. just in case, he had countermeasures ready; vigilance was essential.

middle east might not have ulterior motives, but the americans were different.

half an hour later, both drones completed refueling and began their return journey.

tang rui had set their cruise targets and informed feng yuanxing that everything was taken care of.

over an hour later, the two drones landed at the saddler airport’s runway.

tang rui wasn’t in a hurry to return. he walked out of the hangar, and lin chao stood guard at the entrance, making sure no one disturbed him.

the live-fire test he had just conducted was highly confidential and couldn’t be disclosed. the airport staff only knew that the drones had conducted a live-fire test but didn’t know where.

with the longbo lens closed, radar couldn’t locate them.

“is it over?” lin chao asked when he saw tang rui coming out.

“yeah, it went smoothly. there might even be some pleasant surprises,” tang rui replied with a smile.

this time, he had enjoyed an overwhelming display of firepower, emptying all ten sets of a-300 rocket launchers and 4.0 vehicle-mounted cruise missile platforms. it was exhilarating.

middle easts would likely continue their procurement efforts, perhaps even increasing their orders.

practice was the only true test of theory, and both of these weapons had passed with flying colors.

if anyone doubted the efficacy of these weapons, they could ask the houthi forces.

“let’s go. we should grab a meal, and you’ll need to make a report later.”

“sounds good, i’m starving,” tang rui said as they headed off to eat.

meanwhile, the middle easterners hastily held a press conference to announce their significant victory to the world.

the middle east had risen.

once news of their success spread worldwide, people were left dumbfounded.

were they cheating or was the news reporting wrong?

it just didn’t make sense..
