using the tail to clip the wings?

when the individual in charge heard this, an image immediately sprang to his mind.

given his background in the air force, he was well aware of the practice that involved “scalpels” over the barents sea.

that was how the su-27 gained its fame.

however, the su-27 was a fighter jet.

yet here was a small drone, attempting the same feat.

which department was responsible for this?

“report to the docking area; the target’s wingtip is damaged. its flight condition is severely compromised, and it’s losing altitude.”

“what about the drone?” the person in charge asked with excitement.

“that’s a drone,” came the reply. it rushed back as if preparing to strike its target again, this time aiming for the right wing.

the person in charge was speechless.

“report, does that drone have a variable-sweep wing with a wave rider-body structure?”

fisherman 5 suddenly inquired.

“yes.”

“fisherman 5, do you have any information about this drone? which department does it belong to?”

the person in charge immediately inquired.

“fisherman 5, this drone seems to belong to a student. the last time 1 was undergoing modification training, it flew alongside me and observed my in-air refueling.”

the person in charge sighed.

on the other side.

tang rui maneuvered the drone, circling around the black swallow.

“i’ll take you down with one slash.”

“i’ll take you down with two slashes.”

“i’ll take you down with three slashes.”

“where should i strike with four blades?”

he was contemplating where to continue when his phone vibrated abruptly.

buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz…

11

hello? who’s calling?”

tang rui held the phone in one hand, controlling the drone with the other, all while circling the black swift and pondering his next move.

how could he get a few more slashes in without causing the target to crash?

“i’m air force guo huaimin. you must be tang rui.”

a deep, middle-aged voice emanated from the phone.

“yes, it’s me. hello, chief guo.”

tang rui’s jaw nearly dropped upon hearing the name. this was no ordinary leader; he was addressed as “chief.”

“are you controlling that black drone?”

“yes, chief.”

“tell me about tonight’s events.”

“of course, chief. i’ve been piloting the drone tonight.”

tang rui provided a detailed account of everything that transpired that night, along with his actions and thought process.

in the command center, those listening to tang rui’s narration were at a loss for words.

“yes, i’m aware. you’ve done well.”

“i did all of this. chief, should i go in for a few more strikes?”

“no need for that. the other party has agreed to land.”

“oh.”

tang rui’s disappointment was palpable.

he had only managed three strikes, and he couldn’t keep up any longer.

“is your drone experiencing any issues? do you need a landing spot?”

“no, the drone is in good condition. it can return on its own.”

“alright, remember to keep this confidential. someone will contact you tomorrow.”

“don’t worry, chief. i promise i won’t disclose anything.”

he hung up the phone.

the person in charge looked at the large screen. the black rain swallow was descending in altitude, preparing to land at the military airport. a grin formed on his face.

this time, he had made a significant gain.

“organize the maintenance team to assist the other party in repairing the aircraft.”

“the maintenance crew has departed on a private plane and should arrive at the airport within half an hour.”

“chief, here’s tang rui’s information.”

“thank you.”

guo huaimin accepted the document and perused it.

after hanging up the phone, tang rui smacked his lips in regret.

then, he controlled the drone and slowly distanced himself from the black swift.

he approached a j-16d.

“if you can hear me, please switch to channel 3315.”

at that moment, the drone received a radio signal.

tang rui swiftly adjusted the communication channel.

“channel adjustment complete.”

“you’re the one who saw me refueling mid-air last time.”

as he entered the channel, someone had come to collect their debt.

11

um… last time was a coincidence. 1 was just curious, so i flew over to take a look.”

tang rui hurriedly explained.

“i meant no harm. you performed admirably tonight. if you want to witness aerial refueling again, come to the base. i’ll take you up myself.”

“i can’t handle that, i really can’t.”

fly?

with his small build, he dared not sit in a fighter jet. just increasing g-forces would make him faint.

two more maneuvers, and he’d be on the brink of passing out.

“it’s alright. we have various facilities at the base. you can work on building up your physical stamina over time.”

“big brother, just be straightforward. don’t scare me.”

“nothing to worry about. i simply wanted to chat with you. you with the drone, you…”

“no wonder you couldn’t find me. you changed the channel, didn’t you? little brother, don’t believe him. he’s pulling your leg. if you want to fly, come to our base. we’ve got top-notch equipment there. i promise you won’t regret it.”

“you’re all so cunning. you’re here to trick me. student tang rui, don’t fall for their words…”

“what are you on about? what’s this talk of trickery?”

“wait, did i say something wrong…”

before tang rui could speak, the pilots had launched into a playful argument.

of course, they were all just joking around.

but tang rui understood.

many people held him in high regard and wanted to have some fun with him.

he slipped away.

11

um… fellas, my drone is running low on fuel. i’ll be heading off.

h

with those words, tang rui closed the communication channel, steered the drone away, and left the black swift’s vicinity.

“see, you scared him off.”

“it’s your fault.”

“don’t blame me. we were having a good chat until you guys barged in.”

“enough chitchat. let’s focus on the mission.”

a silence ensued.

but everyone that night remembered tang rui’s name.

the drone returned.

after landing, tang rui hurriedly checked the damaged tail and took a photo.

originally, he planned to use his experience points to repair the tail.

but then he thought better of it.

there was no rush to repair it.

he hauled the drone back to his car and drove home.

as he lay on his bed, learning through sleep-based knowledge acquisition.

a group of skilled aircraft maintenance personnel had arrived at the military airport where the black swift had touched down.

the two pilots inside?

they’d been taken to the hospital for a thorough check-up. after all, crashing in the sky could lead to injuries.

so, even though they insisted they were fine and wanted to remain in the plane, our medical staff placed them on stretchers and transported them away.

the plane had already crashed once; if another accident occurred, explaining the situation would be difficult.

sending them to the hospital was the right call.

as for the plane…

it was a minor issue.

our top maintenance personnel would conduct a thorough examination of the aircraft, ensuring there were no navigation problems next time.

the next morning.

while tang rui had breakfast, he browsed the news.

all was calm.

he checked the trending searches.

a newcomer had entered the entertainment industry, and everyone was captivated by the spectacle.

after breakfast, tang rui drove to the company.

but just as he arrived and began gathering the staff for a meeting, the military arrived at his doorstep.

“president tang, please come with us.”

“alright.”

tang rui nodded and followed the military personnel.

he knew it wasn’t anything bad.

the problem was, the people at the company didn’t know that, and he’d forgotten to mention it.

with tang rui’s departure, the office began buzzing.

all eyes turned to feng yuanxing.

“…” feng yuanxing..
