in the next two days, tang rui went to the company during the day and occasionally communicated with the technical staff.

if there were any difficult problems, he would solve them.

with his current knowledge, he could easily defeat many professors.

however, theory was theory, and practice was practice. he had no problem with the theoretical design.

when it came to actual manufacturing, it was hard to say if there would be any problems.

after all, planes were complex objects.

discovering problems wasn’t as simple as just designing and manufacturing.

he had to test it out.

tang rui was not worried. with the existence of the system panel, he could know at the first instance if there was a problem.

other than guiding his employees, he spent the rest of his time drinking tea with lin chao in the office or discussing the specifications of the parts with the manufacturer.

lin chao moved quickly.

he had already found the manufacturers for the parts he needed.

however, these parts were all custom-made. therefore, after the manufacturer received the order, they still needed to communicate with him about some issues.

it was just a minor matter.

the day passed.

at night, he accompanied li shuyao to the gym. recently, li shuyao had started practicing yoga.

thus, after working out, he had to be the coach to supervise li shuyao’s yoga movements.

in the blink of an eye, it was sunday.

tang rui and lin chao took the car sent by the military and headed to beijing together.

100 fire drones had been manufactured, and three launchers had been produced.

one launcher could deploy 36 fire drones.

the three launchers could release 108 fire drones simultaneously.

the reason why they took the military vehicle to beijing this time was to escort the fire drones.

no matter how much tang rui denied it, this thing was still military hardware, even if there were no explosives inside.

lin chao communicated with the military and borrowed a few cars to transport them and their equipment to beijing.

the exhibition was scheduled for wednesday.

however, they couldn’t arrive on the same day.

before entering the exhibition hall, there was an internal review.

“brother lin, where should we place these things in beijing?” tang rui asked from the car.

“just put them at the cetc. i’ve already informed them,” lin chao answered casually.

tang rui nodded after listening. actually, when he heard about the cetc, he thought of that senior brother who had treated him well.

since he was going to the cetc, he definitely had to contact his senior brother.

he took out his phone and opened wechat.

“senior brother wang, are you awake yet?”

tang rui sent a message.

it was only eight in the morning, and it was sunday. it was normal for him to not be awake.

in the end, in less than two minutes, the other party replied.

“working overtime.”

tang rui was amused.

working overtime on a sunday? was the cetc also so busy?

“no way. you’re working overtime on the weekend.”

“nonsense, what do you want? if you have something to say, say it. if you don’t, we’ll talk tonight.”

“it’s fine. i just miss senior brother. i want to come find you for a drink.”

“get lost, get lost…”

“i haven’t even arrived yet. why are you telling me to get lost? that’s so sad.”

“really?”

“yes, i’m here to attend the internal exhibition you’re hosting.”

“go to hell. don’t bother me. i’ve been busy with this matter. i haven’t had a break for half a month.”

tang rui put down his phone and didn’t send any more messages. it was obvious. senior brother wang didn’t believe it.

sigh!

it was so tough to be human. no one believed the truth.

he felt bored.

i’ll browse for a while.

however, playing with his phone in the car made him feel a bit dizzy.

“brother lin, i’m going to take a nap.”

after tang rui said this to lin chao, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, he reclined in the back seat and fell asleep.

however, he slept uncomfortably.

the seat space was small, and the ride was bumpy. the more he slept, the dizzier he became.

they arrived in beijing around five in the afternoon.

when tang rui got out of the car, he was in a disheveled state.

“let’s have a meal first, then head to the guest house to rest.”

lin chao suggested with a smile when he saw tang rui’s confused expression.

“wait, i need to make a call.”

tang rui rubbed his face, tried to look more alert, and called senior brother wang.

“senior brother, i’ve arrived at your company.”

“are you done, kid? you’re quite the joker.”

“why don’t you believe me? hang on. i’ll video call you.”

tang rui was exasperated. after ending the call, he initiated a video call.

as expected, the other party was taken aback upon seeing tang rui’s location in the video.

“just you wait.”

less than five minutes after the video call ended, senior brother wang arrived.

“are you really here for the exhibition?”

“of course. come take a look at the equipment 1 brought.”

tang rui unveiled the cover cloth, revealing the launcher inside.

“desert camouflage… 36 consecutive shots… is this the beehive system?” senior brother wang looked at the launcher in surprise.

“don’t talk nonsense. the honeycomb system in your company is still a work in progress.

this is a fire-fighting drone. it’s a completed product.”

tang rui was well aware of the honeycomb system at the cetc. when it was first unveiled, it created a sensation at the little break station.

unfortunately, it remained an unfinished product and had not been tested in real combat, let alone deployed.

“impressive.”

senior brother wang gave him a thumbs up.

subsequently, tang rui introduced lin chao to senior brother wang and invited lin chao to join them for a meal. however, lin chao declined the invitation.

he wasn’t familiar with them. additionally, he had borrowed a few vehicles from others and needed to coordinate the drivers.

therefore, lin chao went out to lunch with the drivers.

tang rui followed senior brother wang, this well-connected person, and wandered around the cetc.

as they strolled, tang rui was led by senior brother wang to the office of the logistics department head.

“why are we here?”

tang rui was bewildered.

“we’re settling the bill.”

senior brother wang stated, pushing the door open and entering.

11

uncle wang, my friend is here. lend me your card. i want to treat my junior brother.”

senior brother wang made the request casually.

goodness.

so this big-browed, big-eyed person also has connections.

tang rui’s lips twitched.

“you’re acting too casually.”

“what’s the need for introductions? this is my junior brother tang rui. our relationship is close, no need for formalities.

he’s here for our internal exhibition. i’ll take him out for a meal. give me your card.”

senior brother wang went on, turning to tang rui and adding, “this is my uncle, in charge of venue arrangements for this exhibition. he’ll surely allocate a good booth for you.”

“helio, uncle wang. i’m really sorry, i didn’t know.”

“don’t worry about it. this exhibition isn’t tightly regulated. you’re friends with little yuan, so you don’t need to be formal with me. later, i’ll ask little yuan to show you around. he’s been wanting a chance to meet you.”

uncle wang waved his hand, smiling at tang rui.

with that, he pulled a card from his pocket and handed it to senior brother wang.

“uncle wang then. i apologize for causing a commotion.”

“it’s fine, no need to stand on ceremony. let’s go have a meal.”

senior brother wang pocketed the card and led tang rui out of the office.

tang rui sighed, remarking to senior brother wang, “there’s really no need for you to do this.”

“you’re welcome. if you were working for someone else, i wouldn’t introduce you to second uncle.

but since it’s your own company, it’s different.”

“alright then, i won’t say anything more. if i do, i’d treat you like an outsider. i’ll have a drink with you later.”

“you think you can repay kindness with ingratitude?”

“i’m not forcing you to drink. you do what you want.”

“that’s more like it. let me call someone else.”

half an hour later, tang rui, senior brother wang, and another person arrived at a restaurant.

the person senior brother wang called over was also from the cetc. his name was liu yu.

according to senior brother wang, liu yu would be responsible for showcasing the equipment to the middle eastern guests in two days.

tang rui understood upon hearing this.

this was his senior brother’s way of helping. it would be advantageous for him to put in a good word or two when presenting his products at the exhibition in two days.

what else could he do besides drink?

upon settling at the dining table, they started drinking. after a couple of rounds, their camaraderie grew stronger.

moreover, the three of them were all young and, with brother wang setting the tone, the atmosphere swiftly became jovial.

as they neared the end of the meal, they began discussing business matters.

“xiao rui, what are the products your company is exhibiting? tell me all the details so i can introduce them properly,” liu yu inquired.

the implication was clear.

“thanks, brother liu. my product is…”

tang rui launched a detailed explanation of the fire-fighting drone, encompassing various specifications and key selling points.

by the end.

upon hearing tang rui’s words, both liu yu and senior brother wang frowned.

“what’s wrong? is there an issue?” tang rui was puzzled.

“do you know who our client is?1

11

“i do. it’s the middle easterners.”

“given that you know that, why are you pricing your product so low?”
