God's Imitator

Obviously, the initial rule introduction for this game had mentioned the specific number of male and female players. If one had remembered it at the time, they could answer correctly now.

But the problem was that nearly 50 minutes had passed since the game started, and many players’ memories had already become blurred.

Moreover, even if they knew the answer, male players and female players had to choose different correct answers for it to work.

This time it was Xu Zhao from Community 15’s turn to serve as the ’player representative’.

After pondering for a moment, he said, ”I remember there seemed to be this piece of data at the very beginning of the game.

”There are a total of 25 players, with 14 and 11 male and female players respectively.

”Anyway, no one will listen even if I give suggestions, so just choose whatever.”

Xu Zhao only said a couple simple sentences and didn’t waste more words.

The ’uninvolved players’’ options also came out.

[A. Yes, 13.4%][B. No, 14.1%]

[C. I don’t know, 72.5%]

This made the players present both laugh and cry. Obviously, with this kind of question setup, the community players’ answers had completely lost any reference value.

Cai Zhiyuan hesitated among the three options for a long time, and ultimately still chose option C.

He remembered very clearly that the rules had mentioned that among the 25 players, there were more female players. Xu Zhao had deliberately reversed the numbers of male and female players.

If this were in other rooms, perhaps such a lie could still have some effect.

But in this room, since all players knew the importance of the ’minority option’, whether such lies could deceive anyone was already unimportant.

Cai Zhiyuan knew that for him, B was the correct option, but at this moment he had to choose option A or C to further test the game’s rules.

[The correct answer to this question is: Female players choose ’A. Yes’, male players choose ’B. No’.]

[The net earnings of the five players in this room are: -18000 minutes of visa time.]

[The question setter will receive 18000 minutes of visa time earnings.]

On Cai Zhiyuan’s screen, his earnings for this round of the game were also displayed: -3500 minutes of visa time.

But unlike previous situations, this time the light effects became gray, green, red.

This made Cai Zhiyuan fall into contemplation. Especially the difference in the last light effect seemed to mean that for a certain rule, professional questions and this kind of fixed question would execute different judgment standards.

”The third light really is for answering against one’s conscience.

”For the previous professional questions, I deliberately chose wrong options, but it didn’t trigger the penalty for answering against conscience.

”But this question doesn’t count as me answering incorrectly, but rather counts as me answering against conscience.”

Everyone’s facial mechanisms opened again. It was time for free discussion once more.

Yang Hui let out a long breath, ”This game’s mechanism still favors the question setter too much. Most of the time it’s a negative-sum game.

”No matter how we choose, the vast majority of situations result in the question setter gaining net earnings.”

Xu Zhao actually looked to be in a good mood, ”Isn’t it all caused by each of you playing tricks?

”The game rules said clearly from the very beginning that everyone choosing the same answer would receive extra rewards.

”There were at least two questions where we all clearly knew the correct answer. If we had all chosen the same option, by now it would be the question setter owing us tens of thousands in visa time.

”Right? This friend called Kong Yuxin, you really set a great precedent.”

Gao Jialiang looked at him with a dark expression, ”Don’t be so quick to stand on the moral high ground and accuse this lady. What you said in the previous round was purely deceptive too.”

Xu Zhao spread his hands indifferently, ”So what? Can’t I have just misremembered?

”Besides, after confirming that ’the earnings from minority options are higher than from correct options’, whether the answer is correct or not is already completely unimportant. Whether you all believe me or not makes absolutely no difference.”

The others stopped talking. Obviously, the five people now could no longer trust each other at all. No matter what others said, everyone would just treat it as nonsense.

The five minutes quickly passed.

The fifth question appeared on the large screen.

[Which of the following options might be the majority option for this question?]

[A. Not C]

[B. B]

[C. All of them]

Everyone’s facial mechanisms had already locked again, so they couldn’t speak, but from their expressions one could see they were quite helpless at this moment.

The question setter had completely stopped pretending.

If the 4th question could still be said to have a correct answer, then the fifth question actually had no standard correct answer at all. It was in a ’Schrödinger’s cat’ state. Only after the five players each selected their answers would the correct option appear.

But obviously, this question wasn’t completely without any clues.

Cai Zhiyuan remembered very clearly that the rules explicitly stated: Each question has one and only one correct answer.

At the same time, his facial mechanism had also unlocked, making him the ’player representative’ for the last question.

”This question can only choose A.

”Because the game rules already said that each question has only one correct answer.

”That means, assuming that after the results come out, none of the three options holds true, or two options hold true simultaneously, it wouldn’t conform to the rules, and all options would very likely be judged as incorrect.

”If we all choose B, then both A and B would become correct options.

”If we all choose C, then all options would become incorrect options.

”Only by choosing A will the game have a unique correct option.

”But I need to remind you that after I’ve already helped everyone analyze this question, if two players who deliberately choose wrong options collide, causing the ratio among the three options to become 1:2:2, 1:1:3, or even 1:0:4...

”Then it would cause option A to also become a wrong answer, and all players’ earnings would decrease.

”Beyond this, because it would violate the game’s fundamental rules, it might also trigger some mysterious unknown punishments.

”So, if there are still players who want to become the minority and deliberately choose other options, feel free to do so.”

Actually, Cai Zhiyuan didn’t know if there would be so-called ”mysterious unknown punishments”. He was inclined to think there weren’t, but by bluffing the other players like this, he could better ensure the result he wanted.

After Cai Zhiyuan finished speaking, the room fell silent again.

The ’uninvolved players’’ options also came out.

[A. Not C, 53.4%]

[B. B, 27.2%]

[C. All of them, 19.4%]

The five players in the room also quickly completed their choices and submitted them.

[The correct answer to this question is: ’A. Not C’.]

[The net earnings of the five players in this room are: 25000 minutes of visa time.]

[The question setter will pay out 25000 minutes of visa time.]

On Cai Zhiyuan’s screen, his earnings for this round of the game were also displayed: 5000 minutes of visa time.

But unlike previous situations, this time the light effects became green, red, gray.

[The first phase of the game has ended. The room selection order for the second phase will be determined based on each player’s earnings.]

[Please look at the lower right corner of your console and properly keep the number card that pops out.]

[Afterward, please leave the room and proceed to the hall to continue learning about the new game rules added for the second phase.]

”Click” sounds kept ringing out as all the mechanisms on everyone’s bodies unlocked, restoring their freedom.

At the same time, a special number card also popped out from the lower right of the console. After everyone glanced at it, they hurriedly put it in their pockets to keep it safe, avoiding being seen by others which would lead to information leakage.

Xu Zhao stood up and stretched his muscles a bit, ”That’s good. Everyone hasn’t become completely hopeless. At the last moment, we finally achieved cooperation once.”

Everyone left the room one after another.

Cai Zhiyuan paused slightly. After Yang Hui caught up, he asked, ”Interested in cooperating in the second phase?”

Yang Hui considered for a moment and nodded, ”Yes, but we need to first look at the specific rules for the second phase.”
