God's Imitator

With all proposals determined, everyone dispersed.

However, compared to previous discussions, the community atmosphere during the finalization of these proposals appeared rather subdued.

There was neither cheering and applause, nor disagreements and arguments.

The advancement of the proposals went smoothly, but this smoothness made people feel somewhat unnatural.

Lin Sizhi came to the corner of the staircase and waited a bit. Sure enough, Qin Yao’s voice came from behind him.

”Oh, Lawyer Lin, are you waiting for me?” Qin Yao was somewhat surprised.

Lin Sizhi nodded, ”I felt like you seemed to have something you wanted to ask me.”

Qin Yao was somewhat hesitant, ”Well... that’s right.”

Lin Sizhi continued walking upstairs, ”Then let’s just find a place to chat.”

...Arriving at a small room on the third floor, the two sat down.

Qin Yao asked impatiently, ”Why do I feel that since the last game ended, the community atmosphere has been somewhat strange?

”Whether it’s the new proposal, recruiting, or voting... I always feel something’s off.

”Also, Lawyer Lin, why did you give away the power to recruit? Isn’t it best for this power to remain in your hands alone? The vast majority of players in the community should also support this.”

Lin Sizhi looked at her meaningfully, ”Then what do you think this change in atmosphere is due to?”

Qin Yao frowned and said, ”Is it because Officer Cao’s position has a vacancy, and Brother Wang’s joining?

”I can understand Brother Wang entering the five-person group. After all, whether in seniority or contribution, he’s the best candidate.

”But what I don’t quite understand is, Brother Wang is clearly also an old player in the community and very familiar with everyone, so why does it feel strange?

”Especially these last few votes, everyone barely discussed anything, yet also didn’t seem completely satisfied.

”Logically, the community structure shouldn’t have changed too much.”

Clearly, Qin Yao had already thought deeply about this issue but hadn’t reached any particularly definite answer.

Her thinking was stuck at a specific point.

Lin Sizhi shook his head, ”Actually, what you’re thinking about is very close to the final answer.

”It’s just that you preset a wrong premise, which is ’the community structure hasn’t changed too much’.

”In reality, the community structure has changed significantly. One major change is that the original opposition faction in the community is gone.

”That’s why the current state has appeared.”

Qin Yao was somewhat surprised. She thought carefully again following this line of thinking.

”The original opposition should be the small group of Brother Wang, Yang Yuting, and Xu Tong, right?

”Now that Brother Wang has entered the five-person group, it means the entire small group has been allocated some power, meaning the opposition has disappeared?

”But shouldn’t this be a good thing?

”Since players in the community can all find someone in the five-person group representing their interests, our community should become more harmonious, right?”

Lin Sizhi shook his head, ”Of course not.

”In the vast majority of situations, the emergence of an opposition faction isn’t because some people subjectively want to cause destruction, but because there aren’t enough benefits to distribute.

”So the disappearance of the opposition doesn’t mean ’the disappearance of subjective malice’, but rather means ’the object whose interests are damaged has changed’.

”Originally it was Wang Yongxin’s interests that were damaged. Because there was only one person, he wouldn’t publicly complain about anything and wouldn’t affect the community atmosphere.

”But after Wang Yongxin entered the five-person group and gained voice, his interests are no longer damaged.

”So where do the benefits compensating him come from?”

Qin Yao was somewhat puzzled, ”That’s not right. Brother Wang is filling Officer Cao’s position. Shouldn’t he be inheriting Officer Cao’s share of benefits?”

Lin Sizhi looked at her, ”Think about it again.

”Wang Yongxin inheriting Officer Cao’s share of voice has a premise, which is that their philosophies are consistent and their positions in the group are also consistent.

”But in reality?”

Qin Yao couldn’t help but have a sudden realization, ”I understand. Because their philosophies are inconsistent, and their positions are also inconsistent.

”Officer Cao could accept not having any voice in the five-person group and completely leaving community affairs to Li Renshu, but Brother Wang can’t.

”Since Li Renshu and the others all chose to accept Brother Wang and give him corresponding voice, they have to tilt slightly toward Brother Wang’s thinking on specific proposals and community management issues.

”That also means... actually the power of the five-person group has been strengthened.

”It’s precisely because each ordinary player has their own representative in the five-person group that they can’t unite with each other.

”So the final result is... some ordinary players’ interests will be damaged.”

Lin Sizhi nodded, ”Yes, this change is actually the collective choice of everyone in the five-person group.

”When Li Renshu finally decided to bring Wang Yongxin in, she had already made such plans.

”Or rather, the proposal Wang Yongxin is now putting forward was precisely with Li Renshu’s tacit approval and instruction.

”It’s just that Li Renshu didn’t want to do this dirty work herself, so she could only cede a portion of power to Wang Yongxin. Both sides get what they need.”

Qin Yao was somewhat worried, ”Then what about your and Fu Chen’s opinions, Lawyer Lin?”

Lin Sizhi spread his hands, ”Our two opinions are temporarily neutral.

”For Fu Chen, although he doesn’t really want to see this situation occur, he can’t think of a better method, and the situation hasn’t gotten bad enough that he must firmly oppose it.

”And for me, the community’s evolution has its own reasons. I don’t want to interfere.”

Qin Yao thought carefully, ”Then giving more people the power to recruit is also for the same reason?

”I feel that whether it’s Wang Yongxin entering management or the adjustment of recruiting power, it all seems to be limiting you.”

Lin Sizhi nodded, ”Your feeling is correct.”

Qin Yao was somewhat puzzled again, ”But as long as you’re willing, you can be unlimited, right?

”For example, you could completely have Wei Yinzhang enter management, explicitly oppose these proposals, or refuse to let others obtain the power to recruit.”

Lin Sizhi smiled, ”If I wanted to grasp power in this community, I would have done so on day one. Is there any need to wait until now?

”I’ve already said I have no interest in these things at all.

”If I really wanted to completely control this community, I could completely adopt Community 3’s model and use some methods to suppress all opposing voices. But I think doing that would be very boring.

”Because then I could never confirm everyone’s true inner thoughts. After all, I can’t read minds.”

Qin Yao nodded slightly, ”...I roughly understand. But what use is confirming everyone’s true inner thoughts?”

Lin Sizhi said half-jokingly, half-seriously, ”Can’t it simply be because of curiosity or interest?

”After all, observing this community is much more interesting than managing it.”
