God's Imitator

After thinking for a moment, Cai Zhiyuan raised a new issue, ”But our discussion of this problem is built on the premise that ’carrying more visa time into games puts you at a disadvantage’.

”God’s Imitators could also use this point in reverse, creating some specific games where, for example, players can only gain an advantage when entering the game carrying 100,000 minutes of visa time.

”It’s difficult for us to define exactly how much visa time to carry is the ’just right’ state.”

Wang Yongxin nodded, ”I’ve considered this issue too.

”As a player with more visa time, I naturally also hope this type of game appears in the Gallery, but after comprehensive analysis, I believe the possibility is very low.

”Because this type of game is obviously too unbalanced.

”Giving players with more visa time additional advantages easily triggers the Matthew effect, creating a situation where the strong stay strong and the weak have no chance to turn things around.

”At least from the current situation, the Gallery won’t encourage this behavior.

”At most it would be like ’Blind Date Game’, providing some high-priced goods. But for these goods, bringing in forty to fifty thousand visa time is sufficient.

”As for whether the trend will change in the future because of God’s Imitators, that’s hard to say, but we can completely adjust after seeing the trend change.”The ’just right’ I’m talking about is probably a state between 50,000 to 80,000, because this also happens to be the median visa time that ordinary players in other communities possess.

”But this only represents my personal view, and only at this moment.

”If others don’t agree, they can decide how much money to deposit into the community fund based on the amount they think is appropriate.

”I’ll emphasize again, ’keeping just the right amount of time on your person’, this is a standard that varies from person to person, not a mandatory standard.

”If someone just feels secure carrying 1,000,000 visa time on their person, we also respect their personal choice.”

Everyone fell into brief silence.

Clearly, Wang Yongxin’s plan couldn’t be considered absolutely fair or absolutely perfect, because withdrawing early or late, or depositing more or less, withdrawing more or less, could all cause some players to lose out.

But there was only one absolutely fair plan, that is everyone doesn’t deposit, everyone spends their own money.

At least one point could now reach consensus: the more money deposited in the community fund, the better.

And to make players who deposit feel it’s worthwhile would inevitably make players who don’t deposit feel uncomfortable. There was no perfect solution to this kind of thing.

Wang Yongxin’s reason for proposing this motion was, to some extent, a two-way street.

This plan itself was what he wanted, and at the same time it was also the purpose of Li Renshu and others bringing him in.

After considering, Cai Zhiyuan was first to state his position, ”I generally agree with this plan.

”The details may not be very perfect, but dwelling on such details isn’t very meaningful, because this kind of thing couldn’t possibly satisfy everyone anyway.

”’Losing out’ itself is also a kind of statement, indicating one’s willingness to contribute more to the community.

”Behavior of ’exploiting loopholes’ could indeed occur, but this also lets us better see certain players clearly.

”Besides this, the main significance of this plan is: solving the problem that the ’luxury fund’ might become depleted in the future.

”When we first established the ’luxury fund’, we adopted a voluntary donation method. At that time everyone was very enthusiastic, and it seemed like a perfect plan, but actually that state couldn’t be maintained for long.

”It’s like college freshmen cleaning their dorm. On the first day of enrollment, everyone actively and enthusiastically finds work for themselves, and it looks harmonious. But as time passes, everyone quickly becomes lazy, and finally it becomes only one person cleaning, or no one cleaning at all.

”The ’luxury fund’ is the same. As time passes, players willing to donate will become fewer and fewer, and the funding source will gradually dry up.

”We should indeed establish more detailed records, further quantify each person’s contribution, and then quantify each person’s voice based on contribution value.

”I think this is something that needs to be done sooner or later.

”Although we can also continue maintaining the status quo, having all players voluntarily donate and temporarily cover up this problem, we can’t cover it up for too long.”

Fu Chen thought for a moment, ”Emotionally speaking, I still don’t really like this plan.

”This still gives me a feeling of ’ranking players into different tiers’.

”But the reasons you’ve given can indeed convince me, and I also can’t think of a better plan.

”So I’ll abstain for now. If this plan encounters problems during implementation, I’ll propose modifications again.”

Li Renshu looked at Lin Sizhi again, ”Lawyer Lin, what’s your opinion?”

After considering, Lin Sizhi said, ”Perhaps we could also try distinguishing between ’money deposited in the bank’ and ’money used for public expenditure’.

”For example, I have 100,000, and now I only want to carry 50,000 on my person, leaving 50,000 with the community.

”But actually, I only want to donate 20,000 of this 50,000, and deposit the remaining 30,000.

”Under the current plan, I actually have no choice. I can only deposit all 50,000 into the luxury fund, and once the community decides to spend money, this 50,000 will all be spent.

”But if we set up a separate ’bank’, then I could choose to deposit 30,000 in the bank and donate 20,000. How the donated 20,000 is spent doesn’t matter, but the 30,000 in the bank I can still withdraw at any time.

”However, this type of plan would also have problems.”

Wang Yongxin nodded, ”Yes.

”The first problem is that community rules very likely won’t allow it.

”Because a separate bank where you can deposit and withdraw freely means we can inflate the community fund amount at no cost, enjoy community benefits, without needing to pay an additional price.

”Whether money in the bank would be recognized by the community as ’community fund’ is hard to say, because this is actually ’money only the person themselves can control’, and doesn’t have the nature of being ’shared by the community’.

”The second problem is that this type of plan actually wouldn’t achieve the purpose of ’encouraging donations’.

”If we really separate them, then we can’t touch the money in the bank, and the money in the luxury fund, as Cai Zhiyuan said before, would most likely gradually become depleted.

”The reason I must bind the ’bank’ function to these two funds is precisely to avoid this situation.

”The ’bank’ function must be a benefit that only players willing to donate can enjoy.

”Of course, players can also not consider this a benefit, in which case they just don’t donate.”

After considering, Lin Sizhi said, ”I think we can first try separating the ’bank’ and ’fund’ functions and see if the proposal can pass the community’s review.

”If it can pass, it means we can use bank deposits to activate community benefits, which would naturally be best.

”If it doesn’t pass, then we’ll bind them together and submit.”

Wang Yongxin thought for a moment, ”Mm, that works too.”

Everyone had expressed their opinions. Li Renshu said, ”Alright, then I’ll make simple modifications and organize Brother Wang’s proposed plan, producing two proposals.

”The first will be the proposal taking out the ’bank function’ separately. If it can pass, that would naturally be best. We can directly deposit all visa time in and see if it activates new goods.

”The second will be the proposal Brother Wang has now presented, but it will have some flaws. We’ll need to fully explain and clarify to other players before voting.”

Everyone dispersed.

...

After dinner.

After Li Renshu first gave everyone a simple introduction to the two plans, she went to submit the first proposal.

That is, separately establishing a ’savings fund’ that all players could use to freely deposit and withdraw visa time.

But after a short while, Li Renshu returned to the hall, and the corresponding voting option didn’t appear on the large screen either.

”No good.

”The community doesn’t recognize this as part of the community fund, and also doesn’t allow us to arbitrarily store or withdraw visa time through this method.

”Community funds must be able to be shared by all community members under specific rules, meaning rules like ’can only be withdrawn by the person themselves’ cannot appear.”
