God's Imitator

After hearing Cai Zhiyuan’s words, Fu Chen felt somewhat awed without fully understanding.

Li Renshu also felt this issue was somewhat thorny. She looked at Lin Sizhi again, ”Lawyer Lin, what’s your view?

”Even if you still feel both choices make no difference to you personally, you can consider it from the community’s overall perspective and give neutral party suggestions.”

After thinking for a moment, Lin Sizhi said, ”This depends on which direction you want the community’s form to develop.

”When the five-person group brings in a new member, it’s not just bringing in one person, it also represents bringing in a new set of values.

”These values will inevitably collide and merge with the existing mainstream values, which is to say, you must accept a portion of these values.

”For me, this doesn’t matter.

”But for you it may not be so, so ultimately the decision still has to be made by you three.”

Li Renshu nodded slightly and fell into thought again.

Clearly, Lin Sizhi’s words had something in common with what Cai Zhiyuan said. Accepting Wang Yongxin into this five-person core was definitely not as simple as just bringing in one person.Because once brought in, they had to give sufficient voice.

If they didn’t give him voice, what was the point of letting him in? To deliberately humiliate him? In that case, it would be better not to let him in at all.

But giving him voice meant the existing members had to compromise with him in certain areas, and it meant the original values had to shift toward the new member’s values.

This was something that would inevitably happen and couldn’t be avoided.

Li Renshu considered for a while longer, then said, ”I still maintain my previous view, to let Brother Wang enter this five-person group.

”First is contribution value, second is seniority, third is his team-leading ability in games.

”Considering these three aspects, Brother Wang is clearly the better candidate.

”As for philosophical disagreements and values issues, I believe they can be coordinated.

”I’ll consider making concessions where concessions can be made.

”If there are disagreements where neither side can yield, we can either seek common ground while reserving differences, or adopt the majority opinion to suppress it.

”But in any case, we can’t keep an important member out preemptively just because of some uncertain concerns.”

The other three each nodded, ”Mm, no problem.”

Li Renshu stood up, ”Good, then afterward I’ll find a private time to let Brother Wang know.

”Next time we discuss relatively important topics, I’ll also call him in.”

The discussion ended and everyone left separately.

...

Evening.

Wang Yongxin and Yang Yuting came to the small room on the third floor again, but unlike the previous times, this time he also called Xu Tong.

The three sat down, and Wang Yongxin’s first sentence surprised both Yang Yuting and Xu Tong somewhat.

”During dinner, Li Renshu privately approached me, saying she hoped I could join the five-person group and take Officer Cao’s position.

”However, besides that, she also gave another option.

”That is, let Wei Yinzhang enter the five-person group while giving me a separate ’proposal veto power’.

”I naturally chose the first option.”

Yang Yuting was somewhat surprised, ”Her letting you choose means the small group ultimately chose you in the choice between you and Wei Yinzhang.”

Wang Yongxin nodded, ”Yes, I didn’t expect this either. But after thinking about it, I felt it was quite reasonable.”

Which of these two options Wang Yongxin would choose was self-evident.

The first was directly entering the community’s power core, the second was possessing veto power over proposals but entering the power core was also equivalent to obtaining veto power in a roundabout way.

What surprised Wang Yongxin and Yang Yuting was that Li Renshu actually gave the option of ’entering the five-person group’.

If she only gave ’veto power’, Wang Yongxin would most likely have accepted it too but since Li Renshu dared to give both options, it meant she had completely prepared herself to accept Wang Yongxin into the power core.

This didn’t match the results Wang Yongxin and Yang Yuting had discussed privately before.

Xu Tong hadn’t participated much in their previous discussions, so she was somewhat puzzled, ”Isn’t this a natural thing?

”Whether it’s ability shown in games or actual contributions, or even first come first served and seniority, you should rank ahead of Wei Yinzhang, right?”

Wang Yongxin shook his head, ”No.

”Because Li Renshu could also have chosen to only give me the second option, that is, absorb Wei Yinzhang and only give me ’veto power’.

”I would still have accepted that option.

”Their choosing me, the surface reason is definitely contributions, seniority ranking, and such.

”But the real reason may not be.

”Of course, this is my guess.”

Xu Tong was somewhat confused, ”Besides those reasons, what else could it be?”

Wang Yongxin shook his head slightly, ”It might also be for the balance within this small group.

”Let’s suppose Wei Yinzhang wasn’t recruited by Lawyer Lin, but by Li Renshu or Cai Zhiyuan.

”Would they still choose me in this two-way choice?”

Xu Tong was somewhat shocked, ”You mean the remaining four people in the five-person group aren’t a united front, and there’s actually conflict between Li Renshu and Lawyer Lin?”

Wang Yongxin explained, ”It’s not quite conflict, but they’re also not completely of one mind.

”In the original structure, Li Renshu and Cai Zhiyuan are the core of this small group.

”Fu Chen, Officer Cao, and Lawyer Lin generally don’t directly participate in decisions, but there are obvious differences among the three of them.

”Fu Chen and Officer Cao relatively speaking don’t constitute any threat, but Lawyer Lin may not be so.

”He just temporarily appears not to care about power, but that doesn’t mean he lacks the ability to constitute a threat.

”If Officer Cao were still here, bringing in Wei Yinzhang might still be worth considering, but with Officer Cao gone, they can’t bring in Wei Yinzhang anymore.

”Because even if Wei Yinzhang’s philosophy aligns with Li Renshu’s in most situations, in a two-way choice, she would most likely still choose Lawyer Lin.

”Then this five-person group, excluding Fu Chen, might actually become a two-versus-two situation.

”In that case, Li Renshu’s position would be threatened.”

After thinking carefully, Yang Yuting said, ”So for Li Renshu, bringing you in is actually the better choice.

”Because Lawyer Lin has already grasped the sole power to recruit people from games. If another staunch supporter who unconditionally supports him appears in the core circle, the power distribution would become completely imbalanced.

”Now only you can balance Lawyer Lin to a certain extent.”

Wang Yongxin nodded, ”Mm, it’s very likely this is the situation. Li Renshu suddenly realized that for the balance of internal forces within the community, she must rely on my power.

”The importance of this matter has temporarily superseded philosophical disagreements.

”After all, philosophical disagreements can be attempted to be bridged, but once power becomes imbalanced, there’s no way to remedy it.”
