God's Imitator

The previous luxury fund totaled around 370,000. It had only been spent once, with 300,000 used to purchase the immunity ticket and 20,000 for other banquet expenses.

After that, it basically hadn’t been used again.

So the luxury fund now only had about 50,000 remaining.

At this moment, with Wang Yongxin’s donation coming in, the luxury fund returned to 210,000.

This money still wasn’t enough to purchase the next immunity ticket, much less activate any new goods.

Of course, there was no rush to purchase the immunity ticket, because it had just entered a 30-day cooldown period after the last use, and they would need to go through roughly four games before they could purchase it again.

But since its establishment, the luxury fund indeed hadn’t received any major replenishments.

This also to some extent confirmed Cai Zhiyuan’s speculation.

When the luxury fund was first established, all players enthusiastically donating was actually a special situation, and couldn’t ensure everyone would always be this enthusiastic.

As time passed, everyone’s willingness to donate to the luxury fund would only become lower and lower. And once only two or three people remained donating, they would also very likely stop donating because they felt it was unfair.

After the new plan was proposed, Wang Yongxin took the lead in donating 160,000, which was undoubtedly a good thing for reactivating the luxury fund but this also made other players hesitant.

Should everyone donate again?

At this moment, Wang Yongxin spoke again.

”I know whether donating or not donating, everyone has corresponding concerns.

”So I suggest setting a 3-day ’cooling-off period’. During this time, no one should donate to the luxury fund first, to avoid giving some players the impression of ’forced donation’.

”Afterward when everyone donates, just do it privately. There’s no need to publicize it, and don’t develop any competitive mentality.

”Whether depositing or withdrawing, it’s completely voluntary.”

Li Renshu looked around. No other players with more visa time directly expressed opposition.

So she nodded and said, ”Alright, I also agree with this.

”Whether to donate to the ’luxury fund’ is a rather contradictory matter. If we don’t donate, we can’t purchase the next immunity ticket, much less activate new goods. But frequently advocating for everyone to donate also has the suspicion of forcing donations.

”So I hope this matter can become routine, without frequent advocacy. Everyone can decide on deposits and withdrawals based on their actual situation.

”Alright, everyone has worked hard today. Go back and rest first!”

...

The proposal discussion ended, and everyone dispersed. Many people seemed to carry obvious concerns.

This was also very normal, because no matter how slow someone was, they could feel the meaning hidden behind this proposal: the gap in voice between players would further widen.

But this also couldn’t be helped.

Because to purchase ’immunity tickets’ or activate new items required depositing large amounts of visa time, and this huge gap had to be filled through the joint efforts of everyone in the community.

So the five-person group passed this plan.

Since there were no other better choices, they could only trial run it for a while and see how things went.

Things in the community couldn’t possibly go smoothly all the time.

Lin Sizhi prepared to return to the second floor but was stopped by Li Renshu in the stairwell.

”Lawyer Lin, there’s something I’d like to discuss with you privately.

”About recruiting new members.

”Let’s chat somewhere else.”

Lin Sizhi nodded and followed Li Renshu to find a small room where they each sat down.

Li Renshu looked somewhat troubled. Clearly, this issue made her feel quite thorny.

”Currently our community has a vacancy, but I haven’t figured out exactly how to recruit.

”There’s a very important issue here, which is that as a police officer, Officer Cao had an irreplaceable position in others’ hearts and provided a natural sense of security.

”So many people would be inclined to recruit someone whose profession is similar to Officer Cao’s.

”I’ve privately asked some people, and they all expressed similar views.

”But the possibility of recruiting a similar candidate in a game is very low.

”After all, from our previous game experiences, people with similar professions are very, very rare.

”Moreover, even if we really could recruit one, there might be problems: the recruited person would already be an old player and also have a profession similar to police, naturally having strong voice, which would cause instability in the community structure.

”Because we’ve already brought Brother Wang into the core layer, and Wei Yinzhang is still waiting in line outside. We absolutely can’t allocate more voice to others.

”So perhaps using the old method, directly recruiting a younger person with a similar profession based on profession would be better.

”But this way, there would be some new problems.

”For example, when exactly to use the old method to recruit and when to use the method of recruiting from games, we still need to give all players a clear rule.

”So I’d like to get your opinion.”

After thinking for a moment, Lin Sizhi said, ”I think we can do it like this:

”Recruiting according to the traditional method will have a fixed cooldown time, and recruiting people from games won’t necessarily always have suitable candidates.

”So just use both methods together.

”As long as the cooldown time for the traditional method is up, we’ll directly use the traditional method to recruit a player with a specific profession.

”Our community’s structure is now relatively stable, so there absolutely won’t be voice issues.

”If recruitment is on cooldown, then we’ll recruit people from games.

”Moreover, the power to recruit can also be appropriately opened up.

”Previously, the power to recruit was only given to me alone because in the trial stage, everyone wasn’t sure if this method was reliable.

”Since it’s now proven that this method works, the power can be opened up.

”What’s more, I can’t possibly enter every game.

”We can additionally select one or two more people and grant them the power to recruit. However, this person must definitely be in the community’s core and must possess the ability to lead teams in games.”

Li Renshu thought for a moment, ”Then wouldn’t only Brother Wang be left meeting the conditions?”

Lin Sizhi shook his head, ”Not necessarily. I think some people may not completely lack the ability to lead teams in games, perhaps they just haven’t gotten the right opportunity.

”For example, Cai Zhiyuan and Wei Yinzhang. After they encounter some specific games, how much ability they can actually demonstrate can’t really be asserted yet.

”So my suggestion is this.

”This time, directly adopt the traditional method to recruit.

”At the same time, we’ll explain to all players that based on performance in the next game or the game after, we’ll consider forming a new game core to be responsible for leading teams and also managing the power to recruit in games.

”Let them sign up voluntarily and compete.

”After all, our community should always maintain three team-leading cores. With Officer Cao gone, the third core still needs someone to fill it.

”If someone really wants to obtain the power to recruit, then perform well in subsequent games.”
