ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

At the current moment my overall mood was like that of an old rag sucking in all of the water that was spilled all over the floor. My whole body felt awfully heavy and sluggish for some reason, and apparently all of the fatigue of this battle was finally starting to catch up to me, especially my eyes. They feel like they are made out of concrete and about to close on me any moment now. Maybe I’ll even need to reinforce them in some way to prevent them from doing that. Rising the tension continuously has its uses, but once the battle is all over? Yeah, it all comes right back at you all at once.

「Ugogogogoh……」

But I’m not so stupid as to fall asleep where I stand! Not right now! And especially not when there is a literal mountain of treasures right in front of me to pillage and plunder as I see fit!

「Your Majesty…… You were one hell of a strong enemy! But in the end I was the stronger one!」

It was my sound judgement that destroying the “holy Sword” would be the best course of action here, but that ended up actually making it a whole lot more stronger than it was in the beginning. It was certainly a gamble on my part, one that almost cost me my life in the process, but since I have come out on top, it means that I’m the victor here! And to victor goes all of the spoils! ……

It was all a whole lot better than a time-restricted berserk mode or free-roaming sword advantage, and sometimes the situation looked so bleak that I honestly did not think that I would be able to win, but in the end that can be said for sure: this particular Extraordinary Monster was some top notch game design, if I do say so myself.

But on the other hand, if I were to lose to this thing I am more than sure that I would have simply labeled is as a mere “Shit-Tier Monster” and carry on with my life. But then again, it certainly possessed some really bullshit qualities that were dropping its overall rank lower and lower at times, so maybe calling it a pinnacle of game design so soon was a little bit much?

「Fu, Fufufufu…… Fufufufufufufu……!!!」

Solo Clear, there is no greater feeling in the entire world than doing a Solo Clear on some seriously difficult opponent. Well, strictly speaking it was not a “one hundred percent” solo, but the item drop rate seemed to be speaking an entirely different story. Especially since in this game the drop rate of items was dependent on the number of people in the party. In other words, if you ignore the experience value efficiency, there will be better efficiency with the most item drop when one player is by themselves rather than having a party consisting of one NPC and four additional people.

「Thank you very much, my Luck Stats……」

Drop Items, a treasure that just waits for me to claim it as my own. If it was a regular Golden Crystal Scorpion, its drop items would radiate in a bright golden glow. But there was something completely different, or perhaps distinct, in there as well. Something that I think was pretty much the “Golden Age’s” core. And it was different than all the other items out there.

Hmm, I see, I see. “Golden Core”, huh? …… It was a jet black crystal with something bright and golden closed inside of it. As for its texture and size, it looked like a small crystal ball, but the ball itself looked as though it was made out of interlocking parts, kind of like a 3D puzzle. It was pretty smooth and pleasant to the touch and looked like something that you could actually find in a museum exhibition.

Well now, Your Majesty…… It must have taken quite a bit of time to accumulate such a splendid specimen inside of yourself, huh? But don’t you worry, I am going to make a good use of it, of that you can be sure. It won’t go to waste.

However, it seems that at the current moment the vengeful spirit of “Golden Age” would not let us off the hook that easily. It seems that going back home would be another new challenge waiting for us, and that we would have our work cut out for us in the end.

「Warning; detecting massive movements in the surrounding crystal outcrops.」

「Alright, Sigma, thanks for letting me know…… Yeah. But as you would expect, things are not looking all that swell for us right about now.」

「Combat activities in our current states are going to be extremely difficult. Recommendation: avoid conflict at all cost.」

At that time, the remains of “Golden Age” let out three lines of super condensed laser coming our way…… The first one shot was a low-air flash aiming to take out my legs. I managed to avoid that my jumping, but it would seem that Sigma had way harder of a time dealing with that. …… And when the dust settled, I could that Sigma was crawling on the ground, both of her legs ripped apart from the knee and below.

Fortunately, since now we knew more or less what to expect, the consecutive shots were pretty easy to predict and avoid, giving us way less trouble than that first one. So after they were over, we managed to get by without sustaining any other form of grievous injury. But truth to be told…… In our current state, it would be pretty much impossible to conduct any sort of further battle.

It might be possible to move if it was to equip the Tactical Warbeast Armor just like before, but what if are unable to walk in the first place? Or our current situation does not really allow for that? On the other hand, I could already hear a bunch of crystal feet making their way over here, all too eager to confront with us.

「Ah well, it really doesn’t matter all that much. Alright, Sigma. We are going to evacuate into the INVENTORY before things start to become way too bleak for us to handle.」

「Answer: Unfortunately, I regret to inform that we cannot do that at the current moment.」

「Huh? We can’t? Why?」

Whoa there, My Brothers, please calm down over there! Also, could you maybe stop coming closer for now? With the way in which you get closer on our location, it is becoming increasingly hard to stay focused.

「Because the basic functions of the Storage Key “INVENTORY” are currently being installed in the Next Generation Human Being body itself at the time of wearing this equipment, which will allow the user to make use of the INVENTORY’S content without actually holding onto the accessory itself or losing it because of any reason, but the entrance travel system is currently being recalculated. Also, there are new coordinates that need to be applied, so……」
