A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 747: Chapter 747: Exiles (8)

Nine months later.

The sandstorm was raging, making everything completely invisible. Occasionally, a massive stone with an incredible speed would flash past in the high sky, shooting into the distance without a trace.

In such harsh weather conditions on the surface of the Abyssal Continent, Green and the Colorful Rooster trudged against the wind, steadily advancing on the surface, allowing small chunks of sand and stones, fierce enough to almost tear through human skin, to pelt against them.

This kind of training was also a passive body refinement method for Abyssal Creatures and was often applied by the Academy of Tenacity with very effective results.

Cluck, cluck, cluck!

Suddenly, the Colorful Rooster walking behind Green clucked, causing Green to pause and turn around, only to see that the rooster had disappeared from the sandy ground behind him.

”Hmm? A quicksand whirlpool?”

On the surface of the Abyss, various harsh climatic environments run rampant, and in such sandy environments, there are often hidden sand whirlpools with incredible suction, instantly pulling creatures passing above into the depths underground, burying them alive. It’s quite terrifying.

With a flash on his shoulder, Xiao Ba was summoned from the Dimensional Gap by Green, who signaled for Xiao Ba to wait there. Green then hurriedly ran towards the spot where the Colorful Rooster had just been.

Boom!

At this moment, a huge burst of sand exploded on the ground, mixed with the foul-smelling green blood, as the Colorful Rooster leaped out from the sand.

”It’s a sandworm, but such a large one is really rare.”

The Colorful Rooster shook off the gooey liquid clinging to it; the rooster’s feathers are quite unique, easily shedding the sandworm’s goo.

”Damn it, if there’s nothing else, I’m going back to sleep. Ha...”

Unwillingly stretching lazily, the harsh weather failed to pique Xiao Ba’s interest, and with a flicker, it dove back into the Dimensional Gap.

Green collected some specimens of the sandworm’s body, casually picked up a few feathers from the Colorful Rooster, and then continued on their way with the rooster, progressing step by step against the ravaging sandstorm.

Three days later, the raging sandstorm finally began to calm down.

Over the vast endless desert, Green and the Colorful Rooster had been traveling for three months, and according to the rooster, at this pace, they would need at least another six months to reach its friend’s place.

”Oh? Interesting, it’s a battle between two groups of sandworms.”

Floating in mid-air with the Colorful Rooster, Green gazed at the front where a vast area of sand rolled and churned, with the roars of underground sandworms occasionally popping up, the distinctive foul blood smell of sandworm corpses pervading the air.

The two groups of sandworms had different forms.

One group was noticeably larger, generally over twenty meters long, with red and white patterns, looking quite exotic and venomous, numbering in the hundreds.

The other group was relatively smaller, generally only three to five meters, completely black, with impressively evolved saw-toothed mouths, possibly numbering in tens of thousands!

Judging from the battle traces over the vast sand, the two sides must have been fighting for quite some time.

The Colorful Rooster’s expression suddenly changed: ”We better leave here quickly, with so many sandworms fighting, there might be an abyssal sandworm matriarch in heat nearby.”

The terror of the abyssal sandworm matriarch was well known to any creature residing on the Abyssal surface, and it wasn’t an exaggeration to call it the king of deserts on the Abyssal surface.

The two hurriedly left the sandworm battle zone.

A month later.

On the crystal ball’s light screen, a forbidden zone in the desert oasis appeared in the distance, inhabited by a natural-evolutionary native lord of the Abyssal Underworld, a Level Four Creature known as the King of the Jade Beasts.

According to the brief notes in the crystal ball, this world master had already emerged since the inception of the Abyssal Underworld.

”Should we cross over directly? It would save us at least two months of travel. This creature, comparable to the King of Shadow Demons, probably wouldn’t notice the likes of us, right?”

The Colorful Rooster asked Green.

The King of Shadow Demons was once the ruler of the world where the Colorful Rooster resided.

Roar...

Just as Green was hesitating, an earth-shaking roar burst out from the forbidden oasis zone, approaching closer and closer; soon a massive, intimidating black ink-like beast several hundred meters long was chasing a giant double-headed bird over a hundred meters from the depths of the forbidden zone.

”The King of the Jade Beasts!”

Green exclaimed in shock, watching the savage beast resembling a black ink amalgamation charging across the ground.

This world master, acknowledged by the Abyssal Underworld as an evolutionary native of the Wizard World, seemed to have reached the Fifth-Level Biological Hierarchy!

In ordinary small worlds, a battle of fifth-level creatures could trigger a series of ecological shifts, but in the Wizard World, enough to bear the descent of the Endless Dominators, a mere one or two battles involving fifth- or sixth-level creatures wasn’t significant.

And the blue-purple interspersed double-headed giant bird being chased by the King of the Jade Beasts was undoubtedly another unknown world master native to the Wizard World.

Whoosh, whoosh...

Like a gust of wind, the two world masters passed by several kilometers away, creating a fleeting frenzy around Green and the Colorful Rooster, which came and went quickly, vanishing into the distance.

The Colorful Rooster stood there dumbfounded.

The world master double-headed giant bird was impressive enough, but the power shown by the King of the Jade Beasts was beyond the imagination of typical low-level creatures.

Green, meanwhile, was contemplating other matters.

In the Wizard World, besides wizards and the Sea Tribe, there were indeed still some naturally-endowed original creatures; the Tyrant Ridge Whale in the oceans was one such example, and it seemed there were quite a few similar beings in the Abyss.

And according to the prehistoric history explored by Abyssal Wizards, those naturally-endowed powerful creatures on the Wizard Continent were once slain one by one by prehistoric barbarians and infused into the ancestor of humans’ blood.

Some deep transformations of the Wild Body-Refining Witches into non-barbarian forms were precisely those prehistoric world masters of the Wizard Continent!

”Hurry, if we can seize the opportunity when the King of the Jade Beasts is gone and fetch a jade fruit from its lair, it could sell for hundreds of witch essences anywhere in the Wizard World. The jade fruit is a wondrous fruit that can greatly enhance biological scale armor defense.”

Saying this, Green led the Colorful Rooster in a rush towards the oasis.

Half a month later.

The Colorful Rooster and Green gaped at the distant thousand-meter-tall giant tree with several three- to five-meter gigantic fruits and tens of thousands of small jade beasts with the auras of first-, second-, or third-level creatures, swallowing their saliva aggressively.

”Are you sure you want to go?”

The Colorful Rooster asked.

After hesitating, Green said to Xiao Ba, who was gulping non-stop on his shoulder, ”You go with it to leave here. You’ll get a tenth of the jade fruit.”

”Caw caw caw, Young Master, at least a quarter, and Little Wan’s share too.”

A short while later, after Xiao Ba and the Colorful Rooster left, Green took out the Robe of Appearances, and with a twisted blur, his figure disappeared.

A month later.

The Colorful Rooster, having already flown out of the oasis forbidden zone, suddenly stopped. A ripple on Xiao Ba’s head top surged as Xiao Ba excitedly exclaimed, ”Wow, caw caw caw, so big!”

Green, who had escaped from the pursuit of tens of thousands of jade beasts through spatial contact transfer, was equally excited.

Holding aloft a gigantic jade fruit almost seven to eight meters, Green was exuding an ink-like fragrance. (To be continued.
