A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 705: Chapter 705: Altar Catastrophe

”Ah...”

Cappuccino screamed as if a level twelve tornado had suddenly descended, stones and dust swirling in the vision, the earth trembling. The guardian knights following him roared as they were blown off their horses, staggering around.

What’s happening!?

Under the Robe of Appearances, Green was teleported back to the Wizard World through his Spacetime Communication Talent with Xiao Ba. He originally planned to leave quietly but, for some reason, at the moment he returned to the Wizard World, Green felt an incredible and terrifying power emanating from his body, as if every inadvertent gesture contained the power to destroy the heavens and earth.

This trembling earth combined with the level twelve tornado was actually caused just by Green’s feet touching the ground, not even a deliberate breath!

After protecting the unconscious Cappuccino in the first moment, Green faced Xiao Ba’s bewildered look. Beneath the Face of Truth, his eyes lowered to his skin, and he saw small patches of Void Force and magic power cancelling each other out and then being absorbed by his body.

This terrifying power, making him feel capable of destroying the heavens and earth with every move, was caused by his World’s Veil physique absorbing the void force and magic power after their annihilation reaction.

”Gah!? Young master, this is...”

Xiao Ba did not know Green had such abilities.

Green was equally puzzled, but at the same time extremely thrilled. In almost an instant, Green realized that this might be the path his future Element Surge Body-refining Wizard would take!

It turns out that although Annihilation Force is generated from energy clashes, the effects of Annihilation Force from different energy clashes are completely different!?

In an instant of realization, Green felt as if he had opened a door in the world of high-level energy, glimpsing a vast and boundless world.

”Watch over her.”

Green handed Cappuccino to Xiao Ba, as for the horse beneath her, it had been killed by the aura Green inadvertently released, left breathless.

Through the wind and dust, he looked back at the guardian knights. After scrambling up from the ground, they were running towards Cappuccino through the gusts, disregarding all else.

”Miss, Miss! Are you alright, wake up!”

The Knight Captain anxiously half-kneeled beside Cappuccino, shaking the beautiful lady he had watched grow up. His face was ghastly pale. If anything happened to the lady, how could he answer to the Lord Mayor?

”Gah gah gah, don’t worry, she’s just temporarily unconscious. If you keep shaking her like that, you’ll shake her to death even if she’s immortal.”

Xiao Ba murmured.

Uh...

Only then did the Knight Captain realize his lack of composure, where had his usual rationality gone?

”Captain, Captain!”

On the other side, the other guardian knights exclaimed behind him, calling out. The Knight Captain took a deep breath and roared impatiently, ”What are you shouting about? Protect this area; don’t you see...”

Halfway through speaking, the Knight Captain realized something was wrong, because he was shocked to find that there was a sudden slope around him, and he was actually in a giant pit that appeared out of nowhere?

In a panic, the Knight Captain stepped back two paces, and a pair of cracked ”giant footprints” appeared under his feet, the crater spreading its cracks from there. The sudden change in the previously sunny weather, could it be...

His face turned deathly pale, without a trace of color. Surveying the surroundings with narrowed eyes, the Knight Captain gritted his teeth and murmured, ”Mount up, send the lady back to the Lord’s Manor immediately!”

”But our horses were killed by that strange wind, and those that aren’t dead are severely injured and can’t stand.”

The faces of the guardian knights were equally grim, as their gaze swept over the horses, some of which had bled to death from the seven orifices, some had been struck by stones and couldn’t stand, and others had just passed out.

”Then carry her back!”

...

A month later.

In the underground altar of Biselle City’s Lord’s Manor, the old wizard activated the altar’s energy. After sprinkling a handful of mysterious dust, the laboratory remained silent, except for the continued consumption of energy barytes, leaving the old wizard to sigh in disappointment.

”Sigh...”

Aside from the failed experiment, his granddaughter’s inexplicable incident a month ago had also put him in a bad mood.

Just then, a sudden abnormal fluctuation from the altar caused the old wizard to look up in surprise.

Drip, drip, drip, drip...

A yellow liquid oozed from the altar, a bizarre phenomenon the old wizard had never encountered, causing him to widen his eyes in shock, feeling like it was a dream.

”Succeeded? Succeeded! Have I succeeded?”

This was the first time the old wizard communicated with a foreign domain through the altar. The Endless World is infinite, where any kind of rule phenomenon can occur, and frequently, beings attempting to bridge realms encounter various unbelievable and novel situations, often exceeding imagination and understanding. This is known to all who dabble in inter-world communication as a normal occurrence.

”Hahaha, I finally succeeded; I must tell everyone, I must... ugh!”

In his excitement, the old wizard suddenly felt dizzy and nauseous. In his blurry vision, creatures made of odor appeared from the yellow liquid, intangible and non-elemental, living based on their smell, yet undoubtedly existing.

”This is bad!”

The old wizard immediately realized he might have unintentionally connected to some chaotic rift or even a semi-illusory world!

Not only was he in danger, but if not handled properly, the entire Biselle City could face a massive crisis.

A piece of Bone Jade at his waist suddenly lit up, and the entire hall began to shake ”rumbling,” as intricate magic symbols appeared, moving towards the yellow liquid emerging from the altar.

At the same time, the old wizard quickly retrieved a crystal ball and roared, ”Something went wrong, leave Biselle City immediately!”

Colorful magic symbols, looking like writhing snakes, converged on the altar as they were activated by the magic stones around the underground laboratory, tightly wrapping the altar. Simultaneously, the bizarre yellow liquid falling to the ground was encapsulated into orbs by the magic runes, reintegrated into the altar’s seal.

”We can only abandon this altar and seal it back in that weird world.”

The old wizard seemed to have made a decision, but then, within the tightly packed magic symbols, a soft ”ha” was heard. Almost instantly, the magical symbol sphere was broken!

”Ah! No...”

Screaming, the old wizard watched as the altar gurgled forth an unstoppable flood of yellow liquid, its stench overwhelming. Simultaneously, his body was continuously attacked by the odor creatures, beginning to wither visibly at an alarming pace.

The yellow liquid multiplied, more and more...

As the yellow liquid carried the old wizard’s dried corpse out of the underground laboratory, death began to spread across Biselle City. (To be continued.
