A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 731: Chapter 731: Gladiatorial Etiquette

One day and one night later.

In the Tristar Holy Tower Abyss Arena, the consecutive battles, the most audience-igniting intense competition, was undoubtedly those with gladiators of vast disparity in strength. The moment the strong kill the weak, the deafening roars from the Abyss Beastfighting Arena nearly caused the magic clouds thousands of meters above the abyss fissure to roll and boil.

Perhaps the fine wine in the cup played some role.

As Green began to immerse himself wholly in the fierce competition of the arena, watching the increasingly blood-boiling life-and-death battles, he felt every cell of his body trembling with the gladiators’ moments of crisis and tension.

”Hm? A breakthrough!”

The Tristar Holy Tower Abyss King Agrimond and the One-Star Holy Tower Abyss King Emperor Gan had already left. After the duel between this Terror Tree Demon and the Wild Body-Refining Sorcerer ended, it would be time for the true protagonists of this decade’s Abyss Arena to appear, symbolizing the struggle for the positions held by the two Abyss Kings.

The power of this Terror Tree Demon was genuinely terrifying, its hundred-meter-tall body extremely hideous, with formidable regenerative abilities. Dozens of branch tendrils entwined with a kind of neurotoxin waved fiercely, the sound of tearing through the air continuously ringing.

What was more frightening was that when injured, a massive amount of potent acid would immediately spurt from its body, with astounding corrosiveness.

Even the Body Refining Sorcerer who unlocked the second layer of Wild Instinct Transformation, turning into a black harpy, had to retreat repeatedly, with even the body’s cells showing signs of neurotoxin symptoms.

It appears that, compared to an Elemental Wizard, the Pure Wild Body-Refining Sorcerer, while unmatched against low-level biological sieges during foreign world conflicts, shows evident limitations against such creatures as this Terror Tree Demon.

If it were an Elemental Wizard, or even a Mechanical Wizard, dealing with this Terror Tree Demon would be relatively easier.

At the moment of life and death, when this Body Refining Sorcerer was in crisis, suddenly, amid a roar and struggle, the sorcerer made a breakthrough, unlocking the third layer of Wild Instinct!

A long scaly tail sprouted from behind, strength surged by a significant margin, speed reaching the bottom of afterimages. Amid the unprecedented high-pitched roars of the audience wizards of the entire Tristar Holy Tower Beastfighting Arena, victory was snatched from the jaws of defeat.

The Terror Tree Demon fell before the Teleportation Altar, its corrosive fluids eating into the ground, emitting a lot of irritating smoke.

The wizard’s armor was rusted and mottled by the corrosion, yet supported by the unlocked third layer of Wild Instinct, he ignored those corrosive fluids, stepping to the central soul fire core of the Terror Tree Demon, and struck down with a giant sword.

Roar!

SLAUGHTER!

Amid the roars of billions of wizards, this Wild Body-Refining Sorcerer raised high the Terror Crystal Core from within the Terror Tree Demon, basking in the moment like a rebirth, splendidly intoxicated by it.

”This person should already possess the strength of a Third-Level Great Sorcerer, as per the Elemental Wizard rules, having acquired a Second-Level Honor Medal while completing elemental transformation, leaving only the long accumulation before attempting to receive a First-Level Honor Medal.”

From Green’s assessment of the abyssal underworld body refining sorcerer’s level, roughly this is the case.

Body refining sorcerers who achieved a hundred consecutive victories in various arenas approximate the level of demon-hunting sorcerers with a Third-Level Medal of Honor.

And those achieving a thousand consecutive victories in various arenas, and obtaining ten cumulative victories in the Abyss Colosseum, qualifying them to challenge Abyss Kings, compare to demon-hunting sorcerers with a Second-Level Honor Medal.

As for the Abyss Kings, any who maintain the position for over a hundred years naturally possess extraordinary prowess akin to Master Sister Youquan before advancing to a Stigma Sorcerer, a force capable of overturning academy wars singlehandedly, an intimidating wizard within the Wizard World who can roam unchallenged unless the Holy Tower Rules or world rules are broken.

This is an entity sought for alliances by each Wizard Tower Master, powerful ancient families, and wizard organizations, occasionally even directly contacted by Celestial Will to undertake specific missions representing the Wizard’s Will!

”Hic... Hahaha, good wine, good wine, young master, should we take some back? Next time, we try a new style with Leafy drunk...”

Xiao Ba, with a ”thud,” fell onto the tray, drunkenly unconscious.

Huh!?

At this moment, just before the arena announced the entry of the true protagonists of this gladiator conference’s final spectacle, the perceptive sensory of the Green Truth Mask abruptly sensed terrifying gazes rapidly escalating over the abyss cloud layer, peering into this Tristar Holy Tower Beastfighting Arena, amassed with millions of abyssal wizards.

For the abyssal underworld body refining sorcerer, the arena is a sacred place to prove one’s value and strength, to gain the honor belonging to the abyssal wizard.

This is the honor rule for abyssal refinement sorcerers akin to the demon-hunting wizard’s honor medals!

”It seems that Agrimond, who has maintained the Abyss King status in the Tristar Holy Tower for over two hundred years, has already caught the attention of countless Stigma Sorcerers and True Spirit Wizards from the abyssal underworld, deemed as a powerful wizard capable of achieving Supreme Sorcerer of the World status.”

Green came to this realization.

...

”Coming next are the final two gladiator sorcerers of this Tristar Holy Tower Abyss Arena session, let’s cheer their entrance with the fiercest, most passionate roars!”

Two figures flew out from each side of the expansive arena below the barrier.

The One-Star Holy Tower Abyss King bore a purple-glow greatsword, with flowing black hair below as unruly and wild as his nature, a massive scar slanted across his entire cheek, with fierce eyes piercing into souls, the swirling purple-quality transformative elemental light perfectly fused with himself, achieving a dual-layer battle force surge.

”The One-Star Holy Tower Abyss King Emperor Gan is the younger brother of the great Stigma Sorcerer Dagmos, who achieved his status as Abyss King about thirteen hundred years ago. In one thousand two hundred and twenty-eight consecutive gladiatorial matches, nine hundred seventy-four ended with the opponent’s death. And as a rising star of the One-Star Holy Tower, in his first battle upon ascending to the Abyss King throne, he directly came to challenge at the Tristar Holy Tower...”

The image turned to a two-meter figure, bearing a crimson giant hammer of four meters on his shoulder, exuding an unmatched wild, violent, and domineering aura. The immense strength formed an air current vortex surrounding him, emanating an indescribable oppressive presence on Agrimond’s being.

”Challenging the Tristar Abyss Holy Tower, Agrimond, holding the Abyss King throne for two hundred and seventy-six years!”

Within the tri-star abyss, no need for an extensive introduction of Agrimond,.

Holding the Abyss King throne for two hundred and seventy-six years, the tales of his victories over one opponent after another have spread his renown to every corner of every arena in the tri-star abyss, motivating those body refining sorcerers to strive harder, making him their ultimate goal, to defeat him and trample him underfoot!

”Gladiator Etiquette.”

The etiquette before the duel between Emperor Gan and Agrimond stirred an indescribable feeling within Green, the Demonic Hunter Dark Wizard.

Compared to the abyss refining body sorcerer’s perception of life and death refinement as a spiritual ritual, Dark Wizards merely focused on slaughter, lacking such spiritual tempering as a sacred persistence from deep inside.
