A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 718: Chapter 718: Traces of the Dark Witch (Part 2)

After several Second-level Demon-Hunting Wizards left, Green finally turned around and gazed at the distant sky.

”Come out, how long do you plan to keep lurking?”

With a cold snort from Green, a Third-Level Great Sorcerer gradually revealed herself from afar.

It was a witch, maintaining some of the youthful beauty in her appearance, holding a Wind Attribute Magic Wand. Beneath her was a Camouflage Giant Bird, her eyes narrowed ever so slightly.

”A First-Level Honor Medal, there is no record of a master in the Second Ring Holy Tower. It seems master has come cross-realm from another Holy Tower. Is there anything I can assist you with? The Demon Hunting war record commands the hunt for a Dark Sorcerer appearing on the Wizard Continent. These Second-level Demon-Hunting Wizards are undergoing assessment; I wonder if master has any interest in joining the observation?”

Every Demon Hunting war record assessment invariably has a High-Order Wizard as a Supervisory Examiner. This witch was the Supervisory Examiner for the Demon-Hunting Wizards’ assessment on this occasion.

Amid perfecting the ’Laphie American Wonderful Time Memories’ Self-sealing Technique, hearing the three words ’Dark Sorcerer,’ Green felt unspeakable hatred welling in his heart, the gaze beneath the Face of Truth became extraordinarily cold.

Vaguely sensing Green’s oppressive aura, the witch’s body secretly stiffened a little.

”Dark Sorcerer? I’m just passing by the Time Wheel Sorcerer Academy, might as well take a look at the situation together.”

Following this, the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird flew and the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab entered the Sorcery Instrument ring of Xiao Ba’s Space. Green’s Robe of Appearances, cloaked in Seven-Colored Neon mist, gradually became invisible, and with the witch, they followed several Second-level Demon-Hunting Wizards, flying towards the direction of the Time Wheel Sorcerer Academy.

”I am light of shadow casting Celonia, having been part of the Second Ring Holy Tower’s Demon Hunting records for two thousand and six hundred years, responsible for the recruitment as Supervisory Examiner in this Demon Hunting record assessment. By then, I hope master can offer more comments on these Demon-Hunting Wizards.”

Celonia purposely introduced her background, clearly wanting to find out where Green came from.

”Seven-Ring Holy Tower, Shadow of Despair Green.”

After a simple introduction, hearing that Green was a Great Witch Hunter cross-realm from the Seven-Ring Holy Tower, Celonia was both surprised and then nodded slightly as if it was only natural.

Indeed, a Great Witch Hunter coming cross-realm, but unexpected as it was from such a remote area.

Judging from the Demon Hunting title ’Shadow of Despair,’ during the Second-Level Wizard period, this Great Witch Hunter must have been an insurmountable despair for those vying for the remaining Sacred Tower listings, further substantiated by the First-Level Honor Medal, confirming this to be a True top-tier Third-Level Great Sorcerer in the Wizard World!

...

The area of the Sea of End is countless times vaster than the Gem Sea.

Compared to the Sea of End, the Gem Sea is merely an inland sea between the Wizard Continent and scattered surrounding islands, while the Sea of End is truly an endless ocean.

The Eternal Sky City, a heritage of Wizard World civilization, just floats above this vast endless ocean, resembling another floating Wizard Continent in the sky, never to fall.

On a peninsula that extends from the Wizard Continent into the Sea of End, there is a place named the Edge of the World, as the territory controlled by the Time Wheel Sorcerer Academy in the Second Ring Holy Tower’s regional academy outskirts, where a large number of ordinary humans thrive and reproduce.

Whizz, whizz, whizz, whizz, whizz...

Several Elite Demon-Hunting Wizards flew at an incredibly rapid speed, swiftly cutting through the sky, heading towards the region of the Time Wheel Sorcerer Academy where the Dark Sorcerer devastation erupted, upholding the justice of the Wizard Continent Sacred Tower rules.

A total of seven Second-level Demon-Hunting Wizards, all possessing Honor Medals.

Generally speaking, Demon Hunting Wizards only begin to have the opportunity to obtain Honor Medals after advancing to Second-Level Wizards, subsequently receiving invitations from various wizard organizations; it is rare for First-Level Official Sorcerers to receive Honor Medals.

Approximately half a month’s time.

Explored several remote towns where the Dark Sorcerer disaster broke out, with cities leaving behind a part of corpses tortured to death by Dark Witchcraft, the brutality indiscernible, lacking any moral sentiment; most humans simply vanished, presumably taken away as experimental materials by the Dark Sorcerers.

These evil and cruel Dark Sorcerers use humans themselves as experimental materials, falling into a vicious cycle of persecution under the pressure of Demon-Hunting Wizards. To avoid extinction, the Dark Sorcerers continually strengthen themselves, and in order to continually strengthen themselves, they constantly hunt ordinary humans, leading to increased hatred from Demon-Hunting Wizards.

This is a malignant tumor of a vicious cycle in the Wizard World!

Using various means, the assessed Demon-Hunting Wizards detected some traces of Dark Sorcerers, and then communicated with the Arcane Wizard of the Time Wheel Academy, proceeding to the next step of tracking and hunting.

In secret, Green and Celonia evaluated the Demon-Hunting Wizards. Once Celonia appeared, it meant the assessment had utterly failed.

Seventeen days later, at a coastal sea region off the Sea of End.

A large flock of seagulls gathered to form the shape of a witch. Her pristine white Wizard Robe was stainless, looking with joy yet anger at the numerous humans on a giant whale’s back.

The joy was from finally finding traces of the Dark Sorcerers after so many days, the anger was due to the humans on the whale’s back not only consisting of young and strong youth but also a large number of elderly and children, and even a few women holding wailing infants in their arms.

In the eyes of a Dark Sorcerer, all humans are their experimental materials for collecting human despair, distinguishing little between children and the elderly.

Just like wizard apprentices conducting experiments on frogs, would they pity the tadpoles?

Naturally, Dark Sorcerers venturing into the Wizard Continent for ”poaching” are usually lesser Dark Sorcerers who don’t fare well in the Dark Domain. For top-tier Dark Sorcerers in the Dark Domain are able to obtain reorganized experimental materials, why would they risk being hunted by numerous Elite Demon-Hunting Wizards, crossing oceans to the Wizard Continent to poach ordinary humans as experimental materials.

The Dark Sorcerers who venture to the Wizard Continent are typically First-Level Dark Sorcerers, with extremely rare appearances of Second-level or Level-3 Dark Sorcerers; sighting a Second-Level Dark Sorcerer this time is a rare occurrence.

”White Sorcerers, it’s White Sorcerers! We are saved, we are...”

On the whale’s back, ignorant ordinary humans saw a glimpse of hope’s dawn, shouting excitedly at the witch, pointing and gesturing.

Within the heavily attacked regions like the Time Wheel Sorcerer Academy, among ordinary humans, there are tales about Dark Sorcerers and White Sorcerers.

The general meaning is that Dark Sorcerers are evil wizards, while White Sorcerers are benevolent wizards.

”Kyeh-kyeh-kyeh-kyeh-kyeh-kyeh, have you finally found me? That was slow.”

From the crowd walked out a hunchbacked Dark Sorcerer, originally tall but curved down to less than 1.5 meters. Hair sparse and gray, one eye larger, one smaller; mouth cracked with a hoarse laugh, he held a black Bone Demon Magic Wand, slowly making his way to the very center of the whale’s back.

Ordinary humans around him were horrified, avoiding this terrifying Dark Sorcerer, as if the frail-looking old fellow represented death.

”But if it’s just you, you might as well offer me some more experimental materials.”

The witch formed of a large flock of white seagulls uttered a cold snort: ”Arrogant Dark Sorcerer, since you dare to violate the Holy Tower rules, coming to the Wizard Continent, then remain here forever.”

As she spoke, radiant light emerged from the witch’s body, as if a milky white flame gathered at the tip of the Magic Wand, shooting towards the hunched Dark Sorcerer.

With her other hand, the witch took out a mirror, and a clear spring continually flowed from it.

”Roar, Sea Giant!”

Boom!

From the sea, a Water Elemental Giant wielding an ice fork roared up from the surface of the ocean. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you are welcome to visit to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please go to m. to read.)
