A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 720: Chapter 720: Wizard Puppets

”I will never... ah!”

Amidst the wailing, the dense power of despair surrounding the Dark Sorcerer transformed into a head with an evil grin. It spun into a black whirlwind and poured into the body of the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer bound by the giant hand of despair.

With a scream, gradually, this Demon-Hunting Sorcerer was transformed into having the same aura as the three Second-Level Dark Sorcerers standing behind the Great Level-3 Dark Sorcerer, becoming one of the ”Dark Sorcerers.” The struggle in his eyes gradually calmed, turning into an expression identical to that of the Level-3 Dark Sorcerer.

At the same time, the power of despair enveloping this Level-3 Dark Sorcerer seemed to thin considerably, as if significantly consumed.

One of the abilities of this Dark Sorcerer was astonishingly the ability to use the hard-earned Power of Human Despair to control Demon-Hunting Sorcerers, turning them into his witch puppets!

And his appearance in this sea area was probably less about collecting experimental materials and more about seeking suitable witch puppets!

Judging by the absence of any Third-Level Great Sorcerer puppets at his side, perhaps his real purpose in coming to the Wizard Continent is... to collect Third Level Great Demon Hunter Wizard puppets!?

After all, a Dark Sorcerer of such strength would have no reason to risk the dangers of coming to the Wizard Continent to collect human experimental materials; he could easily acquire them in the Dark Domain.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Summoned by the Demon-Hunting Sorcerer riding atop a flying shark, the other Demon-Hunting Sorcerers rushed over, still longing for the scene of joining the Demon Hunting Performance after taking down a Dark Sorcerer.

These Demon-Hunting Sorcerers weren’t too far away, and as Sorcerers facing examination from the same cohort, they were all generally aware of each other’s basic movements.

”Gilgilrog, how did you...”

The two Demon-Hunting Sorcerers who arrived first saw the one who summoned them standing together with the Dark Sorcerer on the back of the Synthetic Leviathan, shrouded in the Power of Human Despair, and found it hard to believe.

”Kehehehe, two more have come, but they’re of no use to me now. Quickly end your mission and let that guy show himself, kehehehe...”

The Level-3 Dark Sorcerer had once again hidden inside the Synthetic Leviathan, while a hunched Second-Level Dark Sorcerer laughed sinisterly, joining the four Dark Sorcerers with Gilgilrog, and intense combat ensued.

In just a brief moment, the two arriving Demon-Hunting Sorcerers were defeated, unable to stand against the combined attack of the four Dark Sorcerers, receiving some injuries.

Fortunately, three more Demon-Hunting Sorcerers arrived just in time to join the fray, reversing the losing situation and preventing the two Demon-Hunting Sorcerers from perishing on the spot.

Currently, among the five Demon-Hunting Sorcerers, two were severely injured, unable to contend against these four Second-Level Dark Sorcerers, and now a Third-Level Dark Sorcerer also appeared!?

This seemed like the herald of death, the beginning of a massacre, with the appearance of a Level-3 Dark Sorcerer suddenly making these Demon-Hunting Sorcerers feel that it was all part of a conspiracy!

Escape!

The instinct to survive was inherent in the Demon-Hunting Sorcerers. Realizing the situation was beyond their control, the five Demon-Hunting Sorcerers made the correct choice, escaping in five different directions.

”Kehehehe, you lucked out this time, so I won’t waste any more magic power.”

The Level-3 Dark Sorcerer did not choose to pursue because these Second-level Demon-Hunting Sorcerers weren’t his targets. Instead, he looked around expectantly as if waiting for something.

”All examination tasks have failed!”

From a great distance, the voice of a Supervisory Examiner Witch echoed, only to be met with the distant laughter of the Level-3 Dark Sorcerer, ”Kehehehehe.”

”Finally, the Demon Hunting Performance Examiner has shown up! Indeed a high-quality Demon-Hunting Sorcerer, I can almost feel the aura of slaughter around you, kehehehe, very good, truly excellent, a perfect candidate for creating a Third-Level Wizard puppet!”

The Dark Sorcerer laughed aloud, his power of despair swirling around him as he pointed towards the witch on the distant Camouflage Giant Bird, as if about to perform some dark witchcraft. However, with sudden alarm, his body was replaced by a strange white bone on the spot, which was then smashed by an invisible, mysterious strike.

This was a short-distance Soul Coffin substitution witchcraft.

”There’s another hidden Great Witch Hunter!”

His body appeared on the distant sea atop the Synthetic Leviathan. After the initial shock, the Level-3 Dark Sorcerer’s soul fire eyes, burning brightly under the power of despair, carried a hint of excitement as he said, ”A Body Refining Sorcerer? Great! If I could control a Body Refining Great Sorcerer as a puppet...”

When Green’s attack failed to kill the Dark Sorcerer, his body became tainted with a faint aura of the Power of Human Despair, nullifying the Robe of Appearances’ stealth ability.

”Indeed, it’s a bit uncomfortable to use purely Body-Cultivating Wizard techniques without magic power.”

Green murmured to himself.

During his previous stealth moment, Green Truth Mask had already seen through the essence of these Second-Level Dark Sorcerers, realizing they were all just controlled ”puppet wizards.” Upon hearing the intention of turning him into a puppet to join the puppet army, he responded with a sneer of both anger and disdain.

”You can just try!”

On Green’s shoulder, Xiao Ba jumped up with a ”Gah,” pointing at the Dark Sorcerer and screeching, ”Damn it, you dare steal the summoned beast Master Eight painstakingly nurtured? You, you, you... You’re finished today; Master Eight represents the Endless World and announces your death sentence. Today, you must die, damn it!”

”Green Beast, get him for me, kill him!”

Xiao Ba was extremely furious.

Yet the Level-3 Dark Sorcerer merely gave a cold sneer. Suddenly, the black threads of his Magic Wand, like tentacles, swiftly and precisely pierced through all the ordinary civilians on the back of the Synthetic Leviathan!

The look of terror and absolute despair was etched onto the faces of everyone on the leviathan’s back. None of them survived, including the few infants being breastfed in their mothers’ arms, who were also instantly killed by the Dark Sorcerer.

The temporarily collected Power of Despair, combined with his own strength, transformed into an intensely concentrated black light ball in the Dark Sorcerer’s hand.

”Kehehehe, this power of despair should be enough to control a Third-Level Great Sorcerer! After advancing to Third-Level Wizard, you shall become my first Third-Level Great Sorcerer puppet, assisting me in dominating the Dark Domain and gaining the great favor of the King of Wizards, kehehehe!”

”How could you...”

Watching as the many ordinary humans under the feet of the sinisterly laughing Level-3 Dark Sorcerer were trampled like ants, Green’s cruel smile froze, followed by a surge of uncontrollable rage from his heart!

If not for the existence of Dark Sorcerers, if not for these parasites within the Wizard World, Laphie would not have died so tragically, and he would have retained beautiful memories, spending wonderful times with his most youthful and purest love, even if she hadn’t become an Official Sorcerer to spend a lifetime with him, she would have had a peaceful old age.

It was precisely because of these Dark Sorcerers’ existence that the honeymoon turned into such a tragedy!

These wicked Dark Sorcerers, though human, conducted evil and brutal experiments on their own kind, murdering without hesitation, devoid of sympathy, moral sense, and a sense of duty. They possessed nothing.

Without the Demon-Hunting Sorcerers serving as the Wizard World’s deterrent, what would these Dark Sorcerers, who only had the power of human despair, be worth to the Foreign Domain creatures? Probably not even as significant as the Arcane Wizards!

Yet it is the presence of Demon-Hunting Sorcerers as the Wizard World’s deterrent, and with Dark Sorcerers wielding human despair as a threat against Demon-Hunting Sorcerers, that they have attained their current significant status, a tumor parasitizing the Wizard World, drawing nutrients and resisting removal in the short term without any solution.

Today’s Wizard World’s Dark Sorcerers bear no resemblance to their ancient counterparts, who once saved humanity during the human-Sea Tribe wars, focusing on the essential mysteries of life.

”You, how dare you... I want you dead!”

In overwhelming fury, Green’s body suddenly began to expand madly, the Dark Sorcerer’s excited laughter halted, and Celonia’s hasty expression in the distance froze.

Above the sea, a Barbarian Giant over ten meters high roared savagely, a muffled and indistinct sound emanating from deep within his throat. (To be continued.
