A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 706: Chapter 706: Scent Creatures

”What’s going on!?”

Even as Green, the Third-Level Great Sorcerer, appeared here, summoned by Xiao Ba’s desperate call, he couldn’t help but be shocked by the scene before him.

Everything happened too suddenly and unbelievably.

Green’s hometown, Biselle City, had turned into a dead city, thousands of dried corpses floating along with the strange foul-smelling yellow liquid; the people who once filled the small city with laughter were now bizarre mummies.

”Whoa! Young Master, I don’t know either. I woke up feeling something was off early in the morning, damn it, and then all these things appeared. Luckily, Little Wan didn’t go too far, so I could rescue Cappuccino.”

The Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird flapped its wings, flying in the sky. On its back, Cappuccino stared blankly at the ground. The small city where he had lived for nearly twenty years now resembled a hellish nightmare, filled only with death and a deathly silence.

”Dad, Mom, Grandpa, wooooo...”

Cappuccino gazed blankly, tears streaming down his face.

Following Cappuccino’s gaze, the source of this strange yellow liquid in Biselle City was the old wizard’s underground laboratory beneath the Lord’s Manor.

”Hmm, these creatures...”

Unlike typical wizards who could only sense the presence of this intangible, formless, semi-phantom creature through the Force of Nature, in Green’s odor-perceiving world with the Hunting Nose, these bizarre, invisible creatures that looked like palm-sized flies now filled the low-air space over Biselle City.

Most were only between ten to thirty centimeters, with a few reaching about a meter, roaming and flying through the world built by scents, living with their unique survival method within this odor-filled realm.

Hunting Nose Witchcraft differs from the general human perception.

When the sensitivity of smell reaches a high level, through odor, wizards can not only distinguish simple odor maps but can also identify the shape, material, temperature difference, and form of an object with scent...

This is the world of odors!

Although this was the first sensory sorcery Green mastered, even after more than two thousand years of continuous honing, modification, and evolution, Green believed there was still much room for improvement, only lacking corresponding knowledge for evolutionary directions.

”Take her higher up to hide for a while, I’ll go down and see what’s going on!”

With Elemental Teleport, Green descended toward the ground, standing atop a rooftop, with the constant sound of ”squeak, squeak, squeak” caused by corrosion on the ground ringing in his ears. Under the Green Truth Mask, his eyes noticed the foul-smelling yellow liquid’s strong corrosive effect on brick and metal.

”Corrosive to earth elemental energy, yet it has no corrosive effect on the flesh?”

The dried mummies of the small city residents floating on the foul-smelling yellow liquid showed no signs of corrosion. The cause of their death was those greedy scent creatures swarming in, draining their sweat and blood dry.

Green’s scent?

During his apprentice period, Green had already masked his odor thoroughly due to the development of Hunting Nose Witchcraft. At one point, a wizard apprentice with Cerberan Bloodline witchcraft even tried forcibly demanding Green’s knowledge because he detected no scent from Green, leading to Green chasing him to death in fury.

Hence, Green’s arrival didn’t arouse any disturbance among the scent creatures here, as if nothing had happened, only the Sorcerer’s Cloak warded off a few mindlessly approaching scent creatures.

Driven by wizard instincts, Green collected some scent creature specimens and the foul-smelling yellow liquid and began studying the characteristics of these scent creatures.

With a single hand swipe, as Green’s current physical attack strength directly hit a palm-sized scent creature, this formless and intangible scent creature seemed like ink dropped into clear water initially, scattering chaotically for a while, and then incredibly regrouped immediately, showing ordinary physical attacks could barely affect them.

It was expected.

In the next moment, Green’s fingertip ignited a fireball, casually flicking it toward a scent creature, while another finger produced an ice cone, which he flicked toward another scent creature.

Two weak scent creatures nearly scattered simultaneously.

”Fire elemental attacks can deal over one hundred and thirty percent damage, whereas ice elemental attacks deliver about seventy percent damage. For these semi-phantom scent creatures, energy attacks are stronger than physical attacks, yet they also fall under different elemental rules.”

After gaining such research results, ”gulduguldug,” suddenly, the foul-smelling yellow liquid under Green’s feet bubbled up intensely, and a massive suction cup formed from the yellow foul-smelling liquid shot toward Green in midair.

Crack, crack!

Light and dark interchanged, with light swirling from all directions toward Green. After absorbing light centered on him, a black arc rapidly collided with the suction cup, seemingly piercing through like a sharp knife through tofu, effortlessly obliterating the suction cup.

Ssss, ack...

This was a rare scent creature capable of making sound, apparently suffering severe injury from Green’s strike, fleeing from the eerie yellow liquid.

Under the Green Truth Mask, Green’s eyes scanned the surroundings sensitively, following the faint spatial fluctuations to the sky over Lord Bissell’s Manor where the foul-smelling yellow liquid continuously emerged.

”Was it his mother?”

Faced with such disaster, Green’s first thought was that Cappuccino’s grandfather communicated with the bizarre Different World, forming world rule influences. From a wizard’s perspective, this was merely the unique rules of the Foreign Domain affecting some trivial areas of the Wizard World locally, inconsequential to the entirety of the Wizard World.

But for the ordinary humans of Biselle City, it was an apocalypse with nowhere to escape, nothing to evade, unable to resist.

”Found it.”

Through the Green Truth Mask, Green immediately found the space-time communicating altar. Once this altar’s space-time node was sealed, Biselle City’s so-called disaster would soon cease, naturally purified by the Wizard World’s rules.

”Lord Green!”

A colossal shadow flew over from afar, the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab responding to Green’s will, rushing over and flying alongside Green.

”Thousand-Eyed Crab, guard me for a moment, I intend to perform the Forgotten Space-Time Sealing Technique to completely seal this space-time node.”

Not perceiving any irresistible powerful creatures descending upon the Wizard World, Green dared to attempt the sealing technique to perform a space-time sealing.

In truth, the Wizard World, as a civilized great world, never bodes well for Exotic Creatures that dare intrude upon it. To the Foreign Domain, this place is the Devil’s Seal!

”Yes, Lord Green.”

The Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab carried Green, responding in a deep tone, with its two massive pincers raised high. (To be continued.
