Not Being a Trainer This Time

The Umbreon ran off after receiving the answer.

It was planning to check out the apples on the trees in the Apple Garden across the river.

Meanwhile, the Glaceon stayed indoors, feeling a bit hungry, and went to the small bowl Naoki had prepared for them, starting to eat the Pokeblock and Poffin inside.

As night fell, other Pokemon playing in the ranch gradually returned to the house, lying around in the living room, waiting for dinner.

Watching this scene, Naoki smiled slightly and began planning his next actions in his mind.

Today is already July 15th, and there are only five days left until his agreed date with Raifort, which is July 20th.

That day, Paldea Academy will start its summer vacation, and Raifort, being a teacher, will also be on holiday.

The two agreed to explore an underground ruin together, which is estimated to take a day or two to complete.

Thinking about this, Naoki said to the Indeedee Sibling: ”I’ll be leaving soon, and I’ll be back in about two days. I’ll leave everyone in the ranch to you then.”

The Indeedee Sibling nodded willingly.

”Indeedee~”

Naoki can leave without worry! They will take care of everything at home!

The next day, it was another crisp autumn day.

Early in the morning, Naoki got up and went to work in the ranch.

Milking the Gogoat, collecting the Honey brewed by Combee, watching Dragonite water the fields, harvesting ripe crops from the ground with Psyduck, picking Berries in the Berry Garden with Dragonite, and feeding Snorlax with Pokeblock.

After several days, the Wooloo’s wool had grown back.

This time, Naoki did not trim it himself with electric clippers but found the Farfetch’d who was working out.

Seeing Naoki needed help, the much bulkier Farfetch’d immediately stopped and quickly went to the Wooloo Ranch.

Facing the group of fluffy Wooloo, Farfetch’d focused, and with a swift movement, sliced off the wool from a Wooloo, allowing it to gently fall onto the grass.

”Baa!”

The startled Wooloo calmed down only after realizing it wasn’t hurt.

Soon, the second one, third one…

In just five minutes, all the Wooloo’s wool had been neatly trimmed.

With a confident look, Farfetch’d put away the scallion and returned to the Scallion Garden to continue working out.

Standing by, Naoki was dumbfounded.

Wow!

Using electric clippers to shear the wool would not only take several hours, but it would also leave him exhausted with a sore back.

Yet now, with just a single Pokemon like Farfetch’d, the shearing work was done in five minutes!

The power of Pokemon is truly remarkable!

After recovering from his shock, Naoki picked up the fallen wool, planning to sell it to Zack in the afternoon.

Once all the chores in the ranch were done, it was already half-past nine.

Naoki planned to go back into the house to drink some water and rest for a while.

But before he’d sat down for even a few minutes, a phone call came in.

Hmm? Who could it be?

Naoki got up to check, and upon seeing the caller’s name, he was quite surprised.

It was Uncle Elif from the neighboring Cherry Garden!

What business could he have?

Curious, Naoki answered the call.

Elif’s side didn’t have video call capabilities, only a landline, so his face didn’t appear on the screen.

As soon as it connected, Uncle Elif’s anxious voice came through.

”Naoki! Are you at the ranch? Could you come over to the Cherry Garden? A wild Pokemon has invaded my Cherry Garden and injured my Pokemon!”

Upon hearing this, Naoki was momentarily stunned, then replied: ”I’m here. I’ll be right over. Avoid approaching that Pokemon for now!”

In this world, it’s common for wild Pokemon to invade farms and cause trouble.

Not all farmers possess the strength to battle wild Pokemon with bad temperaments like he does.

So Naoki immediately realized Uncle Elif was seeking his help.

After hanging up, Naoki quickly found Koraidon, who was training Cyclizar and Dragonair, briefly explained the situation, then rode Koraidon to fly to Elif Cherry Garden.

When they arrived, Uncle Elif was already waiting there in advance.

Seeing Naoki and Koraidon approach, Elif breathed a sigh of relief.

”Thank heavens, a Trainer finally came!”

”Where’s the Pokemon?” Naoki asked.

”In the Cherry Garden!” Elif quickly led the way ahead.

On the way, Uncle Elif recounted the whole incident to Naoki.

Just yesterday morning, when he got up to tend the fruit trees in the Cherry Garden, he saw an aggressive wild Pokemon in there.

The Pokemon had taken over his Cherry Garden and chopped down a few cherry trees, and what’s more, it wouldn’t let them get close. Anyone who approached would be attacked.

”That’s how it is, I really have no way out, and couldn’t find a Trainer to help drive away that Pokemon, so I had to ask you.” Elif said.

Understanding the whole story, Naoki shook his head and reassured: ”No worries, we’re all neighbors after all.”

While speaking, the two arrived deep in the Cherry Garden.
