Not Being a Trainer This Time

To help Farfetch’d train its muscles, Naoki found two very professional gym instructors for it that night.

7:00pm, the brightly lit Pokemon Tavern.

A group of Pokemon gathered here, raising their glasses and celebrating with drinks.

Among them were Pokemon living in the town, as well as wild Pokemon who came specifically after hearing rumors about the Pokemon Tavern.

The two gym instructors Naoki wanted to find for Farfetch’d were among these Pokemon.

He brought Farfetch’d into the tavern, his gaze sweeping over the crowd of Pokemon, finally resting on two Machamp with tall figures, bulging muscles, and strong bodies.

These two Machamp belonged to Keri’s family, and they would come to the Pokemon Tavern every evening to drink and relax.

Naoki walked up to them and greeted, ”Hello, Machamp.”

The two Machamp, holding wooden mugs, turned their heads over.

They had worked on this ranch and therefore recognized Naoki, so they casually asked, ”Ni-ke?”

Naoki glanced at the Farfetch’d by his side and explained to the two Machamp:

”Here’s the thing, Farfetch’d also wants to build strong muscles like you, so I’d like to ask you about your workout methods.”

The Machamp understood.

Such a small matter was easy for them.

The simple and kind Machamp gladly agreed.

So the next evening, when they came to the Pokemon Tavern for drinks again, they brought along some dumbbells.

The two Machamp found Naoki and Farfetch’d, then began to demonstrate their training secrets to Farfetch’d.

Only to see Machamp’s four stout arms raise high, each arm tightly gripping a dumbbell, lifting them high and then putting them down, repeating the process.

This workout method could greatly enhance arm strength.

Farfetch’d watched intently from the side.

Soon, Machamp stopped, placing the dumbbell in front of Farfetch’d, signaling it to follow along.

Farfetch’d looked at the pair of distinctive black dumbbells in front of it, something it had never seen before.

Plus, seeing how easily Machamp had lifted it just now made Farfetch’d instinctively think it could do the same.

So, Farfetch’d extended its wings, tightly grasping the dumbbell’s handlebar, attempting to lift it.

But the dumbbell on the ground didn’t budge at all.

”Gah!”

Farfetch’d exerted all its might but eventually became breathless and exhausted, unable to lift it, and instead collapsed onto the grass, panting heavily.

”Gah...”

Seeing this, Naoki stepped up to check the dumbbell’s specifications.

Unbelievable—this was shockingly a 300kg dumbbell, almost as heavy as a Koraidon!

And if each of Machamp’s arms holds one, doesn’t that mean the weight held by all four arms reaches 1200kg?

1200 kg, which is 2400 pounds...

Indeed, Machamp’s strength is terrifying!

Naoki gazed dumbfoundedly at the two Machamp in front of him.

The Machamp, however, looked puzzled and bewildered.

They scratched the back of their heads as they stared at the dumbbells on the ground, realizing after a good while that the dumbbells they used were a bit too heavy for this duck Pokemon.

The Machamp fell into thought.

Soon, a light bulb lit up over their heads.

”Ni-ke!”

One of the Machamp thought of another workout method.

It bent over, supporting itself with its limbs on the ground, and then began demonstrating to Farfetch’d how to do push-ups.

Farfetch’d watched for a while and felt it could do this.

”Gah!”

Farfetch’d nodded, then mimicking Machamp’s posture, used its wings to support itself on the ground, and began doing push-ups.

The two Machamp guided Farfetch’d’s movements from the side, and once Farfetch’d mastered it, they nodded earnestly, ”Ni-ke!”

”Thank you.” Naoki thanked the two Machamp on behalf of Farfetch’d: ”Today’s drinks are on the house, I won’t charge you.”

When the Pokemon Tavern first opened, Naoki’s plan was not to charge Pokemon, aiming to help Pokemon in need.

Moreover, Pokemon didn’t have money...

But he overlooked one thing that most Pokemon in the town had families.

For example, Officer Jenny’s Growlithe, Keri’s Machamp, the firefighter’s Quaquaval...

Whether it was Officer Jenny or Keri, after the initial shock of Pokemon heading to the Pokemon Tavern every day to drink, they quickly accepted this.

After all, Machamp and Growlithe were their Pokemon, and couldn’t always eat and drink for free, so every day before the Pokemon set out, they would give them some spare change to hand to the Indeedee assistant.

And wild Pokemon were a different case altogether.

Without money, upon witnessing town Pokemon paying, they too brought things like berries and stones from the wild to give to the Indeedee assistant as payment.

Some self-absorbed Pokemon even left behind beautiful feathers that had fallen from their bodies...

Over time, these Pokemon formed a habit.

Upon hearing Naoki’s words, the two Machamp chuckled simply and went for drinks.

Farfetch’d officially embarked on its fitness journey.

To help Farfetch’d better train its strength, Naoki specifically went to Porto Marinada Town the next morning to buy a suitable set of dumbbells to bring back to the ranch.
