Not Being a Trainer This Time

Naoki had long been skilled at this technique, handling it with ease.

Once the steaks were seared to a golden brown, he lifted his hand with force, and the pieces of meat—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a golden and enticing color—landed on a nearby white porcelain plate.

Then, Naoki started steaming bass for Dragonite and making sandwiches for Ogerpon...

When all the food for the Pokemon was ready, the mung bean soup was also done.

Naoki carried the pot to the side, then crouched down and began using an iron hook to clean the chunks of charcoal out of Slugma’s body.

These charcoal chunks were made from the Berries Slugma consumed, where the pulp was digested by Slugma, and the seeds were transformed into charcoal by the magma-like high temperature and expelled from its body.

Slugma doesn’t have hands, so it’s not very good at cleaning itself.

So every time Naoki helped clean it, Slugma would make a happy growl, indicating it was feeling comfortable.

After cleaning, Naoki asked Cyclizar to go to the Ice Cave to call over the group of Pokemon for lunch.

Cyclizar obediently ran out the door.

In no time, accompanied by a lively chorus of growls, a large group of Pokemon rushed into the house.

Naoki brought the dishes to the table and glanced down at the effect of the mung bean soup, only to regretfully discover that its effect truly was refreshing and cooling.

Yes, just as the words implied.

[Mung Bean Soup (C): Cooking effect, refreshing and cooling. When consumed by humans and Pokemon, they feel a burst of coolness, preventing heatstroke, making it very suitable for drinking during the hot summer.]

At the table, the Pokemon had already happily started eating the food Naoki had prepared for them.

Naoki ate while looking apologetically at the group of Pokemon before him.

In his past life, he wasn’t a top chef, just an office worker who worked overtime until very late every day.

Due to his limited culinary skills, the food he made had always been the same few dishes.

Sandwiches, seared steaks, steamed bass, and occasionally some home-cooked dishes like chicken stew with mushrooms, braised pork, eggplant with garlic sauce, rib soup, and vermicelli with pork...

At that moment, Naoki deeply regretted not having gone to New Oriental to further his studies in cooking during his past life.

But Koraidon and the others didn’t feel that way at all.

Because they would always happily devour any food Naoki made, even if the dishes were repeated, they never got tired of it.

After all, their current life was incomparably better than their time in the wild.

In the wild, nobody would make delicious meals for them with a variety of flavors every day—just Berries, again and again.

And every day, Naoki would rotate their menu; besides food, there were also delightful Poffins and sweet Pokeblocks to eat.

By four in the afternoon, the temperature had gradually dropped, not as hot as at noon.

Taking advantage of this time, Naoki went to the ranch to begin inspecting the crops in the fields.

Nearly a month had passed, and all the scallions he planted for Farfetch’d last time had sprouted.

Whether it was due to absorbing Gogoat’s Grass Energy or some mutation, these scallions had shot up directly to two meters, several times the size of normal scallions.

This inevitably reminded Naoki of the scallions in Shandong from his past life, which grew taller than people...

When he arrived at the Scallion Garden, Farfetch’d was holding its original little scallion, patrolling the furrows with passionate zeal.

Its gaze turned to those scallions taller than itself, filled with unprecedented excitement and thrill.

If it used these scallions as weapons... then its moves’ power would certainly be greatly enhanced!

[Super Scallions: Special crop, scallions mutated from being nurtured with Gogoat’s Grass Energy, grown to two meters in height, with greatly increased durability. It’s truly a super scallion, which a certain Pokemon can use as a weapon, or it can be used in soup, where it tastes exceptionally delicious, and will fully mature in 1 day.]

”I knew it...” Gazing at these scallions, Naoki didn’t quite know how to express his feelings.

With scallions this large, can Farfetch’d really still use them as ordinary swords?

Or is Farfetch’d planning to switch weapons, using these super scallions as a spear or a greatsword?
